Any items besides those? I think you meant F1D1 Flaming Skulls.

Only few items are supposed to be unaffected, mostly the Contract blood items.

Yes, I meant Flaming Skulls. But it seems I've made a wrong analysis of the problem. It happens in a mp game, so I can't make much tests, but I've found out that the loss of the bonus forge wasn't related to the forged objects, but to the forger - a Rudra. And this game uses CBM. In another game without CBM, it's not reproductible.

My bad, It seems to be more a CBM issue than a patch issue ?

This likely has nothing to do with CBM or the patch.

Rudra have flag that gives them a -100 forge bonus for some reason. It's strange that there isn't at least flavor text that explains why.

Yeah, seems they can't benefit from forge bonuses. But I'm confused. Here's what I've in 2 games for an horror helmet :

In the game, right click on the item before forging indicates that it's priced 10 death gems.

Without CBM :
- ancient lich with hammer : costs 3 gems
- ancient lich without hammer : costs 5 gems
- rudra with hammer : costs 5 gems
- rudra without hammer : costs 5 gems

With CBM on a steel ovens province :
- ancient lich with hammer : costs 5 gems
- ancient lich without hammer : costs 8 gems
- rudra with hammer : costs 10 gems
- rudra without hammer : costs 10 gems

Okay, seems correct for the Rudras - complient with their hidden unability. But there's a new concern for the Horror Helmets.

Is this the correct place to discuss this ?

Okay, the Rudras don't have forge bonuses and the cost difference between the 2 games has a logic explanation. And I don't even find the button to edit my previous post, I guess this makes me look even more like an idiot. :rolleyes:

yah, shrapnel decided that giving a long window to edit posts would mean that the terrorists would have won, so you have to edit pretty well immediately ;p

though that's interesting about the rudras... perhaps there is another flag saying some units can't cast globals :)

Possibly should be tested for Dai Oni, too - there is something in their flavor text about them not being good forgers...

The Rudra is the only unit that has a negative forge value. There are some other units that share their lowered research, practitioners of crude magic like Witch Doctors or Dai Oni. And there's enough of a hint in the Rudra's description: "Their sorcerous might is directed towards destruction and they never pause to study or forge items."

Thanks for this hint. I finally noticed what that flag on some blood items that I didn't understand was about. Thus, the items which can't be forged at a discount are:
  • Soul Contract (227)
  • The Heart of Life (253)
  • Lifelong Protection (254)
  • The Black Heart (271)

I would love to see that no forge bonus flag used on the gem producing items.
