Thanks for the input. What exactly is DosBox? Never heard of it.

It's a x86 emulator with DOS.

Also, you might find the open source clone Free Orion to be worthwhile. It's in a very early alpha right now, but it works just fine in modern versions of Windows. More input from people playing it will help the development process along.
