Re: Lord of Rebirth Miscarriage with Twiceborn

But you didn't have 5 candles in the province where the fight took place.

It was your pretender, right? Look at the battle again. Check his dominion bonuses? Not current HP, but the others should track the actual dominion.

Assassinations and other special battles do not take place in the province the character is in. That's why you can't survive retreating. There's nowhere to retreat to. It's sort of a hack to give the fight somewhere to happen.
Never thought about it before, but I'd assume temperature and magic scales don't affect the special province either. I don't think there's any way to detect the other scales.

Nah, I just reprodused the situation.
Horrormarked Lord of Rebirth in friendly dominion, with twiceborn cast, under Dome of Corruption got killed by Hunter of Heroes and was revived as wight (to get killed very same turn by 2 lesser horrors:)).

I had already overwritten that game, but you can make test yourself using debug mod, it would take 5 minutes.

Nevertheless: results of my test display that horror attack isn't supposed to affect on unit's revival. My Lord of Rebirth was successfully revived as a wight.

Alright, hold on, I'll make another test, but you'll still need debug mod to read turn file.

Can you tell from the battle what the dominion is during battle?
Is it the same strength as the province?

All the assassination/domain stuff would have significant bearing on immortals in friendly domain. Also, is the assassination domain dependent on the type eg earth attack, ashen angel but perhaps not seeking arrow or mind hunt?

Re: Lord of Rebirth Miscarriage with Twiceborn

If the assassination domain things exists at all, it would only be for actual battles. That's the only time the target is in that fake province. Seeking arrow & Mind Hunt don't cause battles, so existing dominion would be used.

Isnt' this relatively easy to prove?
IF its a dom neutral place, assassinating an immortal should always result in death.

Does it?

Re: Lord of Rebirth Miscarriage with Twiceborn

Even easier. Though not quite the same.
I just checked an attack by a disease demon in one game. The attack took place in friendly dominion, since the target mage had +1 morale. The province was also cold 3 and both units had +2 encumbrance from severe cold.

Re: Lord of Rebirth Miscarriage with Twiceborn

maybe the Lord was resurrected and attacked again by the Eater of dreams, the game made confusion between the two battles so it only showed the first? that could explain the battle lasting longer than expected and the Lord taking one more hit
