Re: Fall from heaven II.
My favorite to play are the golem-building gnome guys.
Thematically though, it's hard to beat the insane chaos kingdom with the wandering jester king. That concept by itself could encompass a vast body of dark modernish fantasy-horror, wherein the supernatural villain seems to pop up out of nowhere purely to mess (with a capital 'F') with the protagonist. That jester guy could just as easily be Nyarlathotep, Walter o'Dim, the Slender Man, or even Samara (has your civilization researched VHS yet?). It was a nice turn...AND THEN THE EVIL CAME. |

Re: Fall from heaven II.
What is nice about fall from heaven is the way it is balanced. There is lots of combos which are insanely powerfull :)
The other thing is that it is a mod, and its free. I will definitely put som coins into a project where game quality comes before simplicity, marketing and money. That is real life money. I remember, in civ 1 I encountered enemy submarines I did not see, my attacker was killed. Every since that time I have dreamt about using a sneaky submarine and having a big fat juicy career walk right into it killing it instantly. Well, so far, that has only been a dream. You know why? Because 1) the AI could see my submarine, 2) the AI did not build careers. W! In my opinion I think people forget that a FUN AI is far more fun to play against than just a simple stupid good one. |

And to add on my earlier point - it is better for the angelic and demonic armies to go to war with nations of their own alignment so they can get more lemures and angels respectively when evil/good units die.

Re: Fall from heaven II.
Only if they are successful. They get stronger the more war there is. It is a kind of rubber string effect. Angels get stronger if good people are beaten and the demons get stronger when evil people get beaten.

Re: Fall from heaven II.
After playing a few more games now, with a lot more wars, might I add that war is insane in this game? Maybe it was the same in Civ4 basic, been too long since I played that to remember. I just attacked a friendly neighbor, who seemed to be fielding a few warriors and mages, at best. By a few turns into the war, he was hurling incredible forces at me. Having seen it before, I was ready, but damn, how does a pathetic little nation go to a melee powerhouse in two turns?
