I have named this set, a non trek set, The United Freespace Alliance. It will either be a Human or Human based alien Race. I have not decided yet.

Well, the ships are done. I finished up all the re-masking tonight. I am very pleased with how the fighters turned out. They look mean as hell. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The ships are sized, and classed according to design. I have a nice diversity of ships, but they all resememble one in another in basic look.

The satellite and mine images are also completed. I am really pleased with how the Satellite image came out.

I have also created the Race Embelm. I like it a lot as well. I am uploading the fighters, satellite, and race embelm images to my site now.

I am still working on finding a Race Portrait.

Well, what can I say, I got board. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif I made this set from start to finish in a little over 12 hours. That included the learning curve for DoGa, and the time to convert to BMP.

The DoGa L2 program is a lot of fun to use. I gave the Developers of DoGa credit in my read-me file with hope that people will buy their product.

All that remains is to generate the AI for the Race. I have the history files done, so the hard part is over. All I have to do now is set up the AI, and zip it all together.

I really like the shipset. If I could make one suggestion it would be this: The satelite looks as though it needs a change of direction. As it stands it looks to much like a ship. It is still a really nice design though.

i would say if your gonna keep that race portrait then change the color so it matches with the rest of the ships. Not necessarily the same color but something closer to blue.Also if you get doga3 you won't have tp worry about masking because you can render to a black background or if you want you can make the image and then open the motion desgner and put it in there. Just position the camera accordingly and you can set a black background. Thats what i did till i got D3. Should save you a lot of time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thanks Chewy. That is how I currently do it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif I found that using the Motion feature makes it a lot easier than trying to filter out the blue background. Also, once you learn the camera, positioning is easy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

As for the color, it matches the emblem, and the emblem is also the color of the ships. I thought about changing the ships to that color, but opted for the bluegray look instead. If the Race Portrait is that color, it looks a bland. This way, it looks more unique. well if you want to take the time you can add some small parts that are the color of the race portrait to spice up the pics a little and bring more continuity. I've found that some small parts can add cool detail to ships that are pretty much all one color.
