Re: Addressed to Nobody in Particular but

I have also been playing a number of games set in Poland in 1939. There are a whole bunch of interesting scenarios in game for that.

For historical actions, there is also the Winter War between Finland and USSR, starting at the end of November 1939. Though while being Finnish, I have not been too interested about trying to game this conflict lately.

I have also played some games set in the Japanese invasion of China in the late 30's.

And I have considered playing some Spanish civil war battles, but never managed to actually complete one of those...

Hi.
I also am one of those who try battles in the '30s. Both real conflicts like the Spanish Civil War, Sino-Japanese war and Soviet-Japanese fights, and more or less realistic what-ifs. So I am grateful for the inclusion of 1930-1939.

Also I like the inclusion of minor nations.

Halstein.

I've played the China '37 campaign and found it quite enjoyable. The low tech level gives it a unique flavour.

I play in the 30's:
Spanish Civil War, Cino-Japanese War, Russian-Japanese border conflicts and strange "what if" battles and campaign with secondary countries (Italy vs. Yugoslavia and Greece, or versions of the Balkan Wars).

So I'm very thankful that you included that time period in the game,
but I also fully understand your view about nitpicking, I think the standard OOB's are already very good.

It's nice to hear that time period is indeed getting used. It's difficult to know as it's rarely mentioned by players

While I and many others no doubt appreciate the intense attention to detail that this game has, I certainly know where you're coming from Don regarding the "Rivet Counting." Flavor is one thing but after a certain point its just tedious busy work. Keep doing what you do and don't worry if some of us Grognards get fussy over inconsequential things. :D

I had not earlier on been very interested about the concept of that campaign, but ended up giving it a try yesterday inspired by this thread.

After I got hang of the things, it ended up being quite addictive - and I ended up going to bed way later than I was supposed to...

I know it's way later, but still playing 1930's Spain, Sweden, Finland, China - but not Belgium - yet.

FWIW I have some 1908-1929 scenarios coming. Some pretty interesting (at least I think so) stuff in these.
