Microsoft Edge really hates it! But you can persevere and tell it you really do want the file. And again when you run the file. The buttons that allow you to keep and rub the file are often hidden behind the three dots or "more info" label.

On Chrome the main pages don't work either, you are redirected to a page that says your download will begin in 8 seconds, 30 seconds later no change, if you click on the link: If your download doesn't start automatically click here. Nothing happens.

Now I kind of wish I had saved the first link that I stripped out the zip stuff since now I can't download either patch.

That was my experience with Edge as well. Of the three I have.... Chrome, Firefox and Edge it was Edge that took the longest to convince that yes.... I really do want this but when I did it started DLing right away..... this is why I avoid using Edge

That said , IDK why this time this is such a PITA for everyone. The procedure I used posting they are available was the same basically as every other year

QUESTION

Is anyone able to simply click on the link to the update on the Game page and the update actually starts downloading in under 8 seconds?

FWIW I now have 16 different copies of the installers in my downloads folder using the links and procedures I have provided so this should work for everyone

No joy in downloading via Edge or Google Chrome. I've reported it as "safe" to MicroSoft, but don't know if that'll do any good...

Downloaded fine through Firefox with duckduckgo. just click through the Windows warning popups to install
