Generally the skewed "gray background, right of center, stretched out "flat" to the right at about a 20-degree angle." issue has always been the result of using autohide but if you know 100% you have taskbar locked and you have "automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode " OFF then you might want to check your graphics card which you can do yourself

Also try running task manager while you run the game to see if you start pulling high numbers and make sure the game has enough memory

Time is short, video was very useful did all steps plus everything from my last post and also used a good Benchmark site I've used in the past. GPU is performing within spec against its peer group.

However, last from video did bring up the matter of overheating which is what I'm leaning towards.

But again, too I played it for several hrs. (4-5 with breaks.) and it worked flawlessly.

Task manager should show your GPU and temp if it's not built in like mine is
That said if you can now play 4-5 hours and it's OK then it's OK

As I was tied up for some time, not long after my last I ran an offline scan of my PC when completed I decided to get some game time in.

Well, I was able to access the game with no issues.

Now I just run the scan or restart the computer and it's worked perfectly in getting to the game start page.
