I know the AI needs all the help it can get, the same in most games, however, a human player who is either #1 or #2 could ally with the other one which is AI. In any game but expecially in a game with multiple humans and Ai players could make for an uneven game unless it is restricted prior to game play. In sp play, I guess each human player would have to make his own decision. It just seems that player #1 and #2 should not have it that easy in regards to making treaties with each other, they actually should be on a hightened war footing against each other and scrambling to alighn the smaller races in the game, this might increase diplomacy etc in the game. It would also set in motion the possiblity of the creation of a 3rd power, the smaller non aligned races gathering together to confront both 1 and 2,
Is it possible to tinker with the diplomacy aspects in order to see that 1 and 2 have a harder time interacting with each other, as far as ai and ai/human games.? Its a shame the MEE couldn't encampass the 1st and 2nd rated player at a certain level in the game. hmmmm, thats an idea, make the 2nd place player only hate the lst place player, increase the anger and tweak diplomacy, maybe????

What would be a nice change in the MEE function is that the smaller empires make peace between them once the event is triggered. MM could either use the "team mod" that is already implemented or better insert one more line in the race settings file like "mega evil empire anger change against small empires = -50".
Then this race would reduce its anger against all other empires except the MEE by 50 every turn! Soon all smaller empires would be allies against the MEE. |

Last time I checked this (before SE IV Gold) it was different: all empires had declared war on me (I was MEE), but they still kept fighting each other. Was that changed?

I've seen both, all the minors allied or haveing treaties with each other except the MEE at least for awhile, and I've seen where they all go against the MEE and yet fight each other.
In regards to Q's idea, would it be possible to make this a random action. that way it would never be the same for each game, this would add a different flavor to each game, just a curious mac |

Well,it doesn't seem to be universal. I have seen them get into wars with each other when fighting a Mega Evil, but they are much more unified after I cross the threshold than before.
