Re: Space Empires the Board Game???

capnq,
Any idea who owns the rights to it?
I'd love to do some commercial things with it.

Is anybody interrested in a "Star Fire / Space Empires" Version?
It is turn based
The game does not use dice.
Each unit has an strength number
It can be modified by the terrain

On your turn you move your units up to his, (if you want)
If your strength is greater than his,
You remove his units
If they are weaker, um, I forget but I think nothing happens
I modded the game to play on a Panzer Blitz / Panzer Leader board.

I could see an "SE" Version where you could design your ships and the other players would not know what they were till you compared them.
Hmm, Sissors, Paper, Rock would be possible.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">is that the one published by Ground Zero Games? in the good old glory-days of tuesday night battletech, some of the old crew played that game, and had nice things to say about it. i always wanted to pick it up, but never got to it. The same company makes two great ground combat games, one scaled for AFVs and the other scaled for infantry. Dirtside II and Stargrunts II. fast gameplay, lots of fun.

man, i would love to be playing tabletop wargames again.

It has been millenia since the galactic empire crumbled and the great races retreated, seeking safety in the remote regions of space. But now, as the great races once more delve into the heart of the galaxy, the balance of power has become increasingly fragile.
The galactic council on Mecatol Rex has turned into a hotbed of deceit and political power plays. In the vast expanses of space, mighty fleets hover in tense anticipation while trade wars rage across the stars. As the galaxy stands at the brink of a new age, the great races struggle for control of the new empire....

...To be Imperium Rex.

Puke, Silen Death is/was made by a company called ICE, large table top space map, I started playing it when I tried it at Gen Con In Columbus, Ohio about 4-5 yrs ago, has some neat ships and names
like, Strom, Teal Hawk, DraKar, Salamander, Hell Bender, Spirit Rider and lot more, each race has their own specialty ships as well that no one else can have, fun game,
I agree I haven't played a good table top game in several yrs, Last one was Silent Death, one of my favorists was TSS by Spi.. one of the all time best Civil War Games ever designed (in my opinion)
You just gave me an idea for a new thread...

just some ideas mac

You can get info on StarFire here. The link is near the bottom of the player link page on Malfador's Web site.

ICE (Iron Crown Enterprises) is, to the best of my knowledge, now defunct.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Dunno. According to Web Grognards (link), Yaquinto stopped publishing games in '83, but are still operating as a printing firm (link).
