I wonder if plague takes into consideration damage points per 1 million pop....or is it just flat reduction of population regardless? Will have to check that. |
Re: Planet Plague
There's no way to test it. Plague is a 'special' damage type that only works against population and is only calculated between turns. Some formula based on the level of plague is used to calculate how many population to remove.
Once again, this is overly simplistic. Not only does it have the exact same effect on every population, regardless of any difference in 'resistance' that different races might have, it seems to kill about the SAME number each turn. There is no 'expanding epidemic' effect as there would be with a real disease. [ August 12, 2002, 20:53: Message edited by: Baron Munchausen ] |
Re: Planet Plague
What's the damage amount on the plague bombs do anyway? They all do 15 damage - what effect would it have if I changed that?

Re: Planet Plague
You'd do that much more damage on the initial hit. This is ONLY the damage counted in combat, not the plague damage. It's just there to make the AI actually use the weapon. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Call it 'collateral' damage from the delivery device. Sure, you'll hit a few people with the aerosol canisters but the real point to the attack is to deliver the plague.
