I've finally started using the TDM pack as well; I'm surrounded by the Piundon (GREAT speech file for these guys!), the Toron, the Klingons, and the Sallega. Fortunately, I managed to get treaties with them (for now, I assume); but I've started out dead Last in the rankings (occasionally I'll jump up to 8th or 9th, but I quickly fall back to 10th; very strange feeling http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif ).

In my Last game, at about year 6.4, the Praetorians were in first place with a score of over 1.5M and over 140 planets. Impressive. Large galaxy, low tech, one average planet start.

I love the TDM Mod, The AI always give me the challange (and *** whooping) I enjoy from an AI.

I look forward to more growth and creation in this mod.

I used to play humans for the challange, I am not so sure I don't play them now so I have a chance.

The worse part for me was when that Lorne Greene glassed my planets! I was shocked. My boyhood image shattered.

I completely forgot about this side of things. You are right, it is most disconcerting when what's-his-face from the Ponderosa declares war on you

And actually, this is now taking the mickey. Turn 30, I have 2 fleets of 10 missile destroyers each with missile III and PDC III, I have 8 colonies across 5 systems.. I am at peace with the Colonials, the Cylons, the Orks (even) and the Narn Regime and all is right with my world. It is now turn 50 and the Last 3 destroyers are in orbit round Earth supported by about 20 satellites and a couple of weapons platforms.. the whole damn empire has been taken down by the wretched Toron Confederation in that length of time.. I have not one 1 engagement save where 2 of my destroyers took down one of his colony ships..

Note to self, do not play high computer bonus
