Heh, Shrapnel should set up a courier board to match up forum members travelling around the globe with customers who can't afford the postage.

Good Idea, then I could just drive over the bridge connecting New Zealand and Australia!
But seriously, if any Australians are out there, could they let me know of any stores where I could buy it from? I know I sound like a loser complaining about a bit of postage!

BTW how big is the news coverage in the States over the Bali bombings - can't beleive such a place as Bali got hit like that!

wasn't there an option to download se3 after you bought it way back when? Do you guys have this kind of problem a lot there? I wouldn't be able to survive that. I'm surprised that they dont cover both australia and New zealand since they are so close.

They have talked about the bombings for the past few days. 2 US citizens were killed. Since i'm on the east coast, they have been concentrating on the sniper outside Washington DC, but they usually go from that into the bombing... then the latest on iraq. isn't this a great time to live in? So nice and peaceful

Can't say I have really struck this kind of problem before, SEIV is the only game I can't seem to buy in New Zealand. If they do sell it in Australia I am surprised they don't sell it here as usually treated as another state of Australia. Tried the websites recommended by Shrapnel but very expensive - seemed to have taken the price in US$ ie 39.95 and converted it to British pounds ie 39.95 pounds!
Bali bombing huge news here - bigger than Sep 11th and dominating the headlines. Looks like 5 New Zealanders killed, I hadn't heard that soem Americans had been killed as well. I have drunk at one of the bars that was hit on a holiday in Bali - scary stuff!

how big is too big? it seems with DSL and broadband all over too big is a little decieving. and about this whole bombing deal, can't we just not piss each other off?

Re: SEIV Gold

The whole CD is about 250 MB in size; you might consider that downloadable with DSL, but there has to be enough bandwidth on the hosts site for this to work, and I think that's where the "too big" issue is located.

250 megs per customer(!) generates a lot of traffic and will suck enormous amounts of bandwidth, which have to be paid.

On the other hand, UPS managed to deliver SEIV Gold to my place (Germany, Europe) within 3 days, for a rather mediocre 2,50 $ US shipping charge (at least this is what the bill says).

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Then you had a special deal. I paid about 5x your amount for the shipping here to Switzerland.
But it was worth the money.

Re: SEIV Gold

maybe you are right Q I should stop complaining and just pay the money! IF I get half as much enjoyment out of SEIV Gold as I did out of SEIV then it will be worth the price!

That's the spirit! Now go out there and subjugate an empires or two, you'll see that it's even more fun than before. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
