Re: Newbie questions

When i tried to use the "pink buttons" my computer decided SE4 wasn't responding. The nex time it took like 20 minutes and i had no idea what was going on, can anyone make sense of these things, cause i have no idea what to do with them.

O, and what if you don't a budget of 300,000 intel, what if you only are bringing in 40,000 or less, and can't complete any offensive projects you want in 1 turn or less.

If you are making that few points, you won't have to worry about your defense projects being completed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Just divide points (50/50), until there are enough stored in the attack one to complete it in one turn using undivided points.

PS: Skulky

Windows will decide a program is not responding if it dosen't refresh the screen for 40 seconds or so.
I have seen quite a few of my own programs be described as not responding while they are involved in a long batch of work...

If you have an especially large universe, slow computer, low RAM, or lots of ships, the replay can take quite a while to compile and view.

When Counter Intel is almost finished I just replace it with the fresh one. Just don't want to risk having troubles http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
And yes, turn Divide points off. All your offensive projects must be in front of Counter Intel project and MUST be 'finishable' in 1 turn _AND_ there must be some points left for CounterIntel. Otherwise it won't work and all the enemy's intel projects will hit you. Usually it is very painful (gues how I found it out ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif ).

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I hardly ever use the movement replay because it's so quirky. On my system, it disables the (F6) Ships hotkey (and only that hotkey) for the rest of the turn.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">One thing I use it for is to put several attacks in the queue, and let them all get down to 1 turn left. Turn off "divide evenly" and rearrange the queue, and you can get them all to go off on the same turn.
