Tech tip: If you get caught in one of those pop-up chains where closing one window opens another, you can stop them by turning off Java and Javascript until you get to a "safe" site.

This is under Edit/Preferences/Advanced in Netscape or Mozilla, and under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced in Internet Explorer.

I never even realized that there were pop-ups on that site, since all pop-up ads get blocked before they reach me.
