Thanks to everyone that have made comments and voted in the poll. This is really good information.

Re: Average number of turns

I am usually getting my butt kicked after 100+ turns. For some reason, while I'm trying to colonize the rest of my system(s) and building escort ships, the AI usually comes into my systems guns blazing with frigates or larger craft before I know it. So to save myself the frustration of watching my fledgling empire get blown to bits, I start a new game and hope for a better result.

Re: Average number of turns

I have never finished a game.
I usually play small Galaxy, Core systems quadrant (only standard, bi, tri and asteroids system types) cheap and medium tech, 10 empires plus 5 neutrals, Hard, Low AI bonus, and several techs off (Warp weapons, Stellar manipulation, Temporal tech, Psichy tech, religious tech)
It tends to be quick. But i'm a very slow gamer.

Re: Average number of turns

I have not finished many...mainly because the mods keep getting updated before I can finish with the Last Version :-)

But, I like to play with expensive tech starting from one planet, so matters tend to develop slowly. All of my games run long, finished or not.
