Re: Images changing?

Mods intended for PBW play IMO shouldn't have Savegame folders.

"If you do this, the game will look in the default race folders and not even consider looking in TDM. Make sure you create a savegame folder within the TDM folder and save your games there. Check this first before checking checking all those races and shipsets."

This isn't what has happened when I've done this; are you sure your path.txt still pointed to the TDM Modpack?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes they should. It eliminates problems of loading the games in the wrong mod. It allows you to load them with the Mod Launcher. If you want to delete the Savegame folders and cause yourself more work, go right ahead. But, most people benefit from the folders, and prefer to have them in there. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I just copied the contents of my TDM-Modpack Races folder into my standard Races folder. Who wants to fight the original Sallega when you can take on the TDM one? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Less work. I don't use the mod launcher, and having them all in the same directory means I don't have to change my unzip directory or my PBW upload directory- and eliminates the possibility of uploading an incorrect turn.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I meant that it is more work keeping track of which savegame loads with which mod using your method. Using the mod launcher, you just extract it to the correct folder, and hit load. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif WinZip keeps track of the Last 10 folders you extracted files to, so that is not too much of a problem.

Not unzipping the savegame files to more than 1 folder eliminates the possibility of uploading an incorrect turn.

I find keeping track of which game uses which mod easier than keeping Winzip set to the right folder for each extracted savegame.

No, it doesn't. There's this little thing called "user error." http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif I just hit unzip, its done, it isn't even possible for me to unzip to the wrong folder.

Adding a Savegame directory to TDM did the trick.
Thanks Grampa Kim

P-D:
Using the Mod Launcher eliminates the need to type in the path each time you load SE4. It also eliminates the need to hit Load Game, select your empire, and enter your password every time you load up a turn. All of this saved work greatly out weighs the little bit of effort involved in selecting the proper location to unzip the savegame to from the history drop down list in WinZip.

No it doesn't, because the first time I screw up and mis-zip the effort undoing the AI's brilliant ideas will more than outweigh that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
