About some of the races not having EMP files.
PLEASE READ THE READ ME's that come with the mod. There are only EMP files for 8 races to begin with. CNC has added EMP files for 3 additional races. The races that do not have EMP files are from the ADD ON PACK. Origianlly the AST MOD only had 8 races. Therefore only 8 EMP files. 8472 Borg Breen Cardassian Federation Ferengi Klingon Romulan The ADD ON PACK Andorian Dominion DS9 Federation TMP Federation TOS Gorn Hirogen Kazon Son'a Tholian Vulcan NEW EMP's in 1.7 (Patch 7) Dominon New EMP's in 1.8 (Patch 8) Dominion Hirogen Son'a I think it is his goal, CNC's to eventually have EMP's for all the races. HOWEVER, the game was set up using a new ideas and racial traits SPECIFIC to the original 8 races. There is a 9th racial trait GENERAL TECHNOLOGY, that is used for all of the other races. By default the other races use this. Granted they all have a GENERAL.txt description, but not an EMP file. Like I said that Last time I talked to him, he wanted to provied EMP files for all the races. He was waiting for me to finish up the new renders for the Breen, Andorian, and Son'a before he added them. If you want EMP files for any race, simply email him. I am sure he wouldn't mind setting them up for you. |

Started playing in the mod. Perhaps I should post my remarks in the mod forum? As of now, some constructive critisms. I must say that the work (graphical and in rule modding, is impressive. Congrats to all the people who put hours into the mod!) I find a bit to cheesy to have the small carrier only requiring 25% fighter bay. If I have wanted, I could have put a shipyard on it. The anti matter torp II is very good, but the III is pure crap. IIRC it costs 50% more but ofter only some +5 more damage, no added range or anything else. I have reworked the 8472 and Borg emp file. They should have heavy trade penalties in my mind. They are rather xenophobic you see. Also for the bog, increased resistance env and growth rate seemed a thing to do, to represent the 'infestation' problem. Is it possible to have a type of galaxy w/o black holes? I edited mid life myself, but as it cripple the AI, but you should consider doing it in the official mod. So far no big things. I will keep you informed. Oh BTW in the 3 games I started the Klingon AI soared past all the others each time. Dunno if it is pure luck in the planets settings, or if the AI is particularly optimized. thx again! I meant : is it possible that cncraymond include a galaxy model w/o black hole in his mod? Some players are not aware that it can drain a whole IA. |

I thought some of you would like an update on what is going on with the AST mod. Here is what I have done thus far for the latest patch ,v 1.9.
1.9 1. Added missing Intel Projects to Intelproject.txt 2. Changed the Federation.txt designName file. Now has Federation names. 3. Added RaceX.txt to the DesignNames folder 4. Fixed link error in the Sona.html file 5. Added the Vaadwaur race to the Race folder 6. Added the Vaadwaur race to the AST Mod HTML viewer 7. Added the Vaadwaur race 2, 3, 5k EMP to the EMP files 8. Updated the Borg EMP files (Attempting to make them more aggressive) 9. Updated the Romulan EMP files (Attempting to make them more aggressive) 10. Added Gem.txt to DesignNames folder for the Tholians 11. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for DS9 12. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for Hirogen 13. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for Kazon 14. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for Son'a 15. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for TMP 16. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for Tholian 17. Added EMP 2, 3, 5k EMP files for Vulcan 18. Changed the Anti-Matter Torpedo III range from 65 to 75. 19. Added Pocus to the beta tester list 20. Added new 8472 and Borg 5k EMP files in extra directory in EMPIRES folder. (Thank you Pocus) 21. I just started my second game. Good mod! You broke my proportions habit for the time being. It is fun to be the Borg. Is there any counter intel at all besides a few facilities?
