Not down. DNS is down, but the IP works.

no, i use semi-random letters and numbers.

it's beyond me why anyone would use an easily-guessable word.

Or today. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ok, back up. New IP address. http://24.145.157.194/

You can click that directly, or follow the link on teh redirect page. Tommorow morning sometime the DNS should get redirected and things will be back to normal.

THanks for your patience.

Geo I can not get in without the IP address. The http://pbw.cc link goes to the choice page then a 404

I just tried, no luck.

http://seiv.pbw.cc/graphic/index.jsp

It was not working earlier today as well.

IP direct works, just not the "seiv" link in my Favorites.

working fine for me with the IP adress.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

You guys can't go direct to your graphic and text links that you have stored.

If you go to http://seiv.pbw.cc/ it will redirect you to a page with a link to the new ip. That is http://24.145.157.194/

Or you can go direct to http://24.145.157.194/

Or you can go to http://24.145.157.194/graphic/index.jsp
or
http://24.145.157.194/text/index.jsp
if you prefer.

The seiv.pbw.cc isn't pointing to the new IP yet. Once that gets done, sometime today, everything will be back to normal.

And now the DNS is starting to propgate back to the server. I can reach it direct with http://seiv.pbw.cc now. If you can't yet, you will be able to soon.

Is PBW unable to send email at this point? I generated a new turn, but received none of the usual emails that used to come with that.

By the way, can someone give RTC a try and verify for me that it's working?

Going to seiv.pbw.cc isn't working for me. But I opened up RTC and it connects just fine and shows all of my games.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Ok, well the only way that makes sense is if your browser is reading fmom Cache or something, since RTC connects to the seiv.pbw.cc as well. Unless you put the ip in the tools/options. If you did, then it's just that the DNS hasn't gotten around to you yet. If you've got seiv.pbw.cc in RTC tools/options, then you need to get your browser to refresh.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That's what I was thinking so I refreshed it and still nothing. RTC is set up using the seiv.pbw.cc address to connect to.

Ok, I just tried using IE to open it and it works fine. But refreshing Mozilla Firebird is still not working. I may have to clear the Cache manually.

Is this problem still going on Narf? When did it start? What browser are you using. Have you tried the graphic and the Text UI's?

i'm not sure when it started, i think i had it with the P&N game to, but it dissapeared after a while. it dissapeared sometime Last night, because i just uploaded the koth turn(please come back, David) and it worked. i opened up 'gameupload', something i should have done sooner and got this 'Cannot execute player command: Filename uploaded was unexpected; expecting: kothnva_0001.plr', which is exactly what it was named.

Re: One of many threads about PBW outage issues

GeoSchmo,

I am uploading a replacement turn for "Space Empires 101" game on PBW, and I keep getting the following error:

Cannot execute player command: Could not read input: java.io.IOException: Posted content length of 1248344 exceeds limit of 1048576

The actual GAM file is pretty big...could this be the cause? (it's 1219 Kb)...

Help?

Thanks,

Alarik
