game is on! but i myself have a bit of a problem.. i get that "något kick fell" report. and it complains about not having the correct map. but i do? i have every single one of faeruns in my map folder. does anybody know why does it kick me out?

edit: it complains "cant open faerun.tga"? what to do?
similar problems, anybody? in SP map works just fine. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

edit once more: other half of brain o mine founded once more.. had to just change the file name.

Can you put the restriction info in the message displayed at mosehansen? It might be that not everyone has been following this thread.

Ygorl October 3rd, 2004 06:12 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Might be that nobody's looking at that either. Next time I log in I'll send a text message to everyone.

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Can't connect, get a 'not responding' from D2. Any ideas?

limbo October 4th, 2004 09:55 AM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

thx ygorl.

calista, the server is down from time to time.

Soapyfrog October 4th, 2004 11:32 AM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Yeah its a known issue. The solution is to restart the server on Mose.

Generally I have to try twice to connect. First time it hangs and I close it at the earliest possible opportunity, then I reconnect and I get in... however others have reported having to retry several times before connecting.

I've seen it with other mosehansen games and a server restart always fixes it.

WraithLord October 4th, 2004 03:02 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

I've tried a few times today and yesterday but the server seems to be down.

Soapyfrog October 4th, 2004 03:17 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

limbo can you give the server a little restart? That should fix it.

limbo October 4th, 2004 05:10 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

doesnt that restart whole game?

Soapyfrog October 4th, 2004 05:29 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Nope... if you are nervous about it check the mosehansen server thread.

Soapyfrog October 4th, 2004 07:33 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Game is stopped now?

baboune October 4th, 2004 08:29 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

I get a waiting for server message... Is it restarted.

What's up(or should i say what's down)

limbo October 5th, 2004 03:50 AM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

ok ive restarted the game.

Bale_Blackmoon October 5th, 2004 02:09 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

Does this mean I can reload as Pangea or does someone already have it?

Soapyfrog October 5th, 2004 04:27 PM

Game is already under way so you are out of luck... sorry http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

anatoli11 October 6th, 2004 10:17 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

I'm having connection problems too

rex_havok October 6th, 2004 11:35 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

why are we having connection problems?
would a fresh start fix it. we are only on the early turns. better now then in turn 20+

baboune October 6th, 2004 11:59 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

I can not connect either... Waiting for info... Even with 10 consecutive clients...

I am also having problems with another game on mosehansen... Maybe something is wrong there...

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

This morning it was all good. Turn complete.

limbo October 7th, 2004 01:50 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

i suppose the server needs a daily restart. so no need to restart the whole game rex:) ill keep on kickin the server once in a while, that shoould do it.

Soapyfrog October 7th, 2004 03:35 PM

Re: mosehansen Faerun, again.

I dont think it neds a daily restart, surely?

Jurri October 11th, 2004 02:42 PM

Vampires, anyone?

So is ally-summoning limited too? Couldn't find an answer skimming through the thread.

limbo October 11th, 2004 03:56 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

does somebady have any ideas of ally-summonings?

Ygorl October 11th, 2004 03:56 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

I don't think anyone had a problem with vampires (or other ally-summoning dudes). I'm perfectly content to be wrong, though.

limbo October 11th, 2004 03:57 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

exactly same time on posting Ygorl:) that must mean something BIG!

Jurri October 12th, 2004 03:00 AM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

Well, seeing as the reason for the limitations is to prevent hoarding of various elements, it would sound logical to restrict also hoarding that is not item related. I really wouldn't know how big a deal it is, end-game-wise, but considering the perceived effect of unlimited Soul Contracts...

OTOH it would be just plain silly to restrict werewolves or draconian chiefs. (Or Ulmish wolf-herders or Mictlan's tribal chiefs, for that matter http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif)

Why don't someone with an opinion comment?

WraithLord October 12th, 2004 12:46 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

I've no problem with ally summons.
Either they summon crap or that they waste a turn of an otherwise useful commander.
I say, if they want to waste the wraith lord's prowess on ghost summons it's their problem.

I think they community should request a feature of global limitation gem producing items.

Jotunheim. Sorry for banging heads like that. I was planning on moving more away from you and we collided!

Re: Vampires, anyone?

Am I the only one having trouble connecting to the game server? So far I missed t17 "waiting for game info"

Soapyfrog October 14th, 2004 09:14 AM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

Classic server wonkiness. Server just needs another restart.

Basically you should be able to connect by trying repeatedly... i.e. start dom2, connect, close dom2 the moment its apparent the connection is hung, immediately try again, repeat until success.

Not ideal, but until the server is given a restart to fix the problem its the only way...

Ygorl October 14th, 2004 12:05 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

You can also have success by just waiting for the "failed" dialog to pop up and hitting "Retry". That probably puts less strain on the server, which maybe helps the situation.

Soapyfrog October 14th, 2004 12:47 PM

Re: Vampires, anyone?

Regarding ally summoning, its not a problem for most things. The summons are for for the most only good becuase they are free, not becuase they are particularly potent troops.

The Vampires are really only considered a problem becuase they are immortal... after all their stats are not great for the late game.

Immortality is the kicker: imagine, if you will, fighting and beating the mile-wide mass of 800 vampires at great expense, only to have them reappear the next turn at the guys capital... oh the headaches.

It can certainly be a problem if you are not equipped to deal with it, e.g. wrathful skies, firestorm, or other dramatic battlefield wide killing spell.
