not this early at least. and if someone wants to just say it. it will be no problem.

question for you:
can i play my turns on 2 different computers?

Bluebird February 7th, 2005 12:40 PM

Re: New game at mosehansen Orania 2.14

I normally play my turns on two different computers. All works fine, except for a little detail that you should take care about:

If you do a turn on machine A, then the turn is not available on the machine B. As a result, you cannot 'continue' the turn on the machine B, but you have to redo it completly.

Also, if you should then switch back to machine A, then our "outdated" turn will be uploaded directly on connection, overriding your changes from machine B.

So you see - it is a little bit tricky when you do the same turn on two different hosts. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

I wanted to develop a tool that would allow you to easily check the status of a multiple servers without interfering with the uploaded turns. JK of Illwinter promised my on 2004-11-25 to give me some protocol specs to do it, but I have not heard from him since. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

I'll be going away for the weekend and would appreciate if you could hold the turn after the current one until Sunday night, CET. If not, at least you all know why I'll stale ;-)

It will pause the game until you restart the server (which does NOT restart the the game from turn 1)

But a better way to give Knudsen his weekend off would be to set the time limit up to a couple of days and leave quickhost on. That way, the turn will run as soon as Knudsen gets back and puts in his orders.

But he can't, because the game is stopped.

If it's restarted now, he will have 24 hours to play, then it will be another 24 hours for everyone, including Knudsen.

Is Azhur staling? Both games I'm in (this one and a cradle one) have been waiting on him and possibly timing out for a couple of turns now.

It may be that he's just pressed for time to play 2 large positions, but if he is in fact staling, we should take some action, yes?

EDIT: False alarm - Akhur is back on deck.

I will be travelling from Friday to Sunday and might not make it in time for a 24h turn.

Could we increase the limit to 48h QH over the weekend? I should be able to do a turn within two days ...

I vote we do this. I believe it's just a matter of editing the time limit and restarting the mosehansen service. But please, let's not leave the server stopped over the weekend.

Hmm ... seems like the game is starting to decide itself. Pangaea is out, after having had quite a powerful position.

Azhur, any comments on the game? Would be interesting to hear what happened to you.

Mmm - a long way to go yet, methinks. There's some big, ugly brutes out there and I count myself among them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I have to say, I'm really enjoying this one. I just wish Knudsen would bum some time off work and play his turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well I got somewhat depressed after the combined attack of R'lyeh and Caelum, and thus decided to forfeit. Matriculation examinations (<- took that from a dictionary) are also approaching, so right now I don't have that much time to spend on Dom2.

Mark is still here and is looking well placed to win the game. My reasoning is that the original Big 3 (Pangaea, Ulm and Jotunheim) have each taken a dive. If that pattern continues, then the slowest-starting nation will win and, by my reckoning, that would be T'ien Ch'i.

Having lost my Pretender (twice), killed four of my most expensive mages in an ill-conceived Communion, and allowed myself to be hemmed into an obscure corner of the map, I'm confident in my ability to turn this game around and win handsomely. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I will be away for 3 days (Sat-Mon) this weekend. I'm in the GMT+10 timezone. I should be able to play within 48 hours, but could we have a 72-hour time-limit for the weekend to be safe?

BTW, now that Ulm has been eliminated, Manuk might want to pass administration of the game to someone else. If so, I'm happy to take it on. It's a matter of emailing Mose at esbenshjemmeside@mosehansen.dk and giving him the name of the game and the person you want to tranfer it to.

And while we are at it. I'm away wednesday to friday. 72-hour limit should work for me as well.

Re: New game at mosehansen Orania 2.14

Shall we lower the timelimit again? I'm actually finding 24 hours can be a bit intense at this late stage of the game, so either 24 or 48 hours would be fine for me.

Yep.

2. place: Caelum
3. place: Man

Everyone else is dead and can safely be ignored.
