63. Opening up a PBW turn-file, and noticing that a good ally of yours has opened 6 warp points and deployed nearly 20 star destroyers to all your systems, has them poised over all your stars except for one where it's two moves away, and over all you're closest partner's stars...

...Yep, that just happened to me. So much for a trusted ally...and so much for me and my partner http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I can stop the one star destroyer, and maybe salvage some of my fleet to go on a revenge destroying spree, but that's about it...bummer.

On the other side of things... Finally finishing your Diabolical Evil Master Plan that you've been working on for the past 30 or so turns to wipe out all known Deeply Religious empires simultaneously (Yes Renegade, that means Yor!rek is going down too - I've got 30 of them, and I'm using them all). I just hope no one's built any system grav. shields. As for the "trusted ally" bit, since when does a mere T&R grant that status? Also, you can thank the bad pathing algorithm for the one star destroyer not in position. If it had followed the path it was supposed to instead of taking one of the new warp points, it would be there already.

I built a hotel once, on the first island, but it was never fully staffed and the bloody tourists roamed the island freely..... and all those social minions are taking up valuable minion space you could otherwise allot to more useful science or military minions.

And btw, it's fun to see a tourist panic and then get shot by a guard.

It's even more fun to build a lot of disguised Sentry Guns at your base entrance with overlapping fields of fire, and then when he/she walks into the fire zone, tag him/her for death.....

NullAshton March 15th, 2005 12:27 PM

When I have to take out an agent via my sentry guns, I usually tag all of the nearby tourists and agents for death and/or capture. If people land in my kill zone, they're going to get killed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

So, Douglas is the reason you don’t have star destroyers on my core systems is because, I not a Deeply Religious empire or that build system gravity shields?

Still you are going to destroy about a third of my systems. It should be an interesting end game.

Sounds like that game will be amazing on its own when finished.

Back to topic (Think we are at 68)

68. Taking down several EEE Cruiser fleets with my lone Frigate for the first time.
69. Discovering how to add over 100 mines of your own into a sector for the first time.
70. Discovering you can stack more fighters in a sector than mines and 0.5k fighters do a whole lot of damage.
71. Beating the AI on team mode for the first time, with the computer on High bonus (computer declares war at first sight).
72. Discovering your son is better at SEIV than you are.

Also, where are these mystery ships of yours that they won't get destroyed in the megablast of over a third of the galaxy's stars going supernova? Douglas,

Just to let you known how much damage your 30 star destroyers did.
Destroyed 29 systems with 250 inhabited planets containing 65+billion population.
5600+ units, 560+ ships and 75 bases.

About 50% of everything in the game.

I hate to break up the well-deserved kudos for Null's multiple system destroying accomplishment (done it against the AI, but against humans? Wow), but which patch "corrected" the 100 mine limit? I play version 1.6 gold and can overload a sector with mines. If the sector has less than 100 mines, you can select "Move All" and move over as many as the mine layer/planet has.

Re: 100 Most Satisfying Moments in SEIV

Settings.txt lets you change the max allowed num of mines/sats per sector..... for Capship I increased the max amount to 1k sats and 5k mines. I know this is absurd (but only realized this just now) since the max allowed units is 5k, but if you wanna mine the only WP leading from your home system elsewhere, and if your economy supports thousands of support ships and bases that act as "units", you could choose to max out mines there..... especially if you know there's an enemy COMCA approaching.

Too bad I just got forcibly reminded of the 300 ship limit http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif. Oh well, I'll just sacrifice the 40+ old battlecruisers I sent to safeguard the last star destroyer while it got into position. That should give me some room to build more real combat ships.

Edit: They appear to have stressed the game enough that it removed half of a warp point by accident. It looks like there is now a one-way warp point from Ashadra to Yullado.
