Re: Crazy Game - PBEM - Any takers?
I sent in my pretender also.
If'n any of you haven't played on maps that have pre-placed forts, you should note that neutral troops never patrol. Thus, you can siege the castle with a single commander, resulting in a nice bit of an extra cash flow. So, you should not be surprised if a certain nation with flying, very fast scouts has more money than you would expect... If there weren't enough reasons to gank Alneyan otherwise http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
The Ganking of Alneyan
Yup. Poor Alneyan shall be gang-ganked.
|
Re: The Ganking of Alneyan
Bah, I am a Prétendant, not a Prétendeur or some such. I pretend to Godhood, and do not spread out lies or rumours. That, and you are committing a misdemeanour Pasha. You are not supposed to hamper free trade, by unduly favouring one particular party to the detriment of another. So, please let the invisible Hand of Gilgamesh work unhindered.
By the way, did I spell Gilgamesh right for my Pretender... I'll have to check that out. Gilgameth just doesn't sound right. |
Re: The Ganking of Alneyan
SILENCE! Or the ganking will commence with preliminary spanking.
|
Re: The Ganking of Alneyan
un modded caelum is tough so i concur on the ganking of alneyan! (although i would prefer to avoid the spanking part...)
|
Turn 1
Turn 1 has been sent.
The deadline for turns will be 9:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time (aka Boston or Portland time). For the first 10 turns, we will try to play 1 turn every 24 hours. After that, we will host Sunday - Tuesday - Thursday. If you need more time, etc., just let me know. Pasha |
Re: Turn 1
Urgh, I should have gone over the forts too, it seems. The map-file specifies two forts in a single province (#75). Damn, this is one sloppy scenario! Well, who cares, it's only one special province less.
Easy for me and shovah to speak about the menace of Alneyan, of course, from under the waves. ...Please tell me he didn't start near the coast http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 1
Oh shoot! I say we keep going.
|
Re: Turn 1
also remember those water mages are aquatic (good thing you have illithids)
|
Re: Turn 1
sorry to double post but wanted to sya my turns in and thought this was better than an edit.
|
Re: Turn 1
Super!
|
Re: Turn 1
anyone else left?
|
Re: Turn 1
Just waiting on Steerpike. It's 9:45 a.m. in Melbourne, and so hopefully he will play his turn while drinking some morning coffee. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Turn 2
Turn 2 is out.
Technically, it is due on Monday at 9:00 pm. However, if folks can play their turns quickly, then we could host another turn tonight. Pasha |
Re: Turn 2
whos turn is still needed?
|
Re: Turn 2
Ulm and Machaka. They played early yesterday, and so, I expect that they will be checking in soon.
|
Re: Turn 2
ok
|
Re: Turn 2
I'm beginning to see the explanation behind shovah's postcount http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
So, 6 out of 8 players turned in their turn within 4 hours of hosting? That's pretty fast! |
Re: Turn 2
I just sent my turn (me being Machaka, lord of the spiders, king of the jungle, lord over all... are soon will be). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Turn 3 is out.
Deadline is Monday, May 22, 2006 at 9:00 pm EST. But, if people are extremely crazy and play their turns fast, then I will host again today. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Pasha |
Re: Turn 3
I must be extremely crazy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
|
Re: Turn 3
Yup... three of us have already proven to be extremely crazy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
|
Re: Turn 3
well theres my turn in.
|
Re: Turn 3
Yup... just waiting on Pan, Ulm and R'lyeh.
|
Re: Turn 3
well jurri and ygorl have both posted rather recently so if they are still on and steerpike shows up...
|
Turn 4
Turn 4 is out.
Deadline is Monday, May 22 at 9:00 pm EST. I gotta work on Monday, so I doubt we will be able to keep up our fast pace, but it was great to give the game a kick-start! Pasha http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 4
Yes, it was good to get 4 turns out of the way this weekend. I think that's the new plan for future games, starting them on a Saturday and planning to get 4 or 5 turns out ASAP. Almost like a blitz for the first 4-8 turns.
So now we're back to a work week, and no more than a turn a day. |
Re: Turn 4
Just waiting on shovah (who might be at school), but I gotta get to work soon.
|
Re: Turn 4
yes i was at school. my turns in now
|
Re: Turn 5
Turn 5 is out.
Deadline is Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 9:00 pm EST. Pasha |
Re: Turn 5
lol, i just thought of the best phrase ever: my almighty weener is expanding http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif.
ps: caelum what was your god? its dead so... |
Re: Turn 5
Huh? How do you know that Gilgamesh is dead? Rejoice!
...unless you are fooled by the clever prankster, Victor, who has died under the inept guidance of Alneyan? |
Re: Turn 5
You are wise in my ways, Jurri. One day, if you should access to a higher level of learning, you shall become my dedicated minion. And who knows? You might end up being my 'prentice!
Poor Victor has currently -8899 HP, if memory serves... or a similarly high number. I wonder how he managed to take that much damage... that's enough damage to die nine hundred times in a row! Poor chap. |
Re: Turn 5
Likely, he's been flogged by Erinyes post-mortem.
Incidentally, whom do you have to kill around here to attain worldwide fame? I've had to resort to hiring my heroes, and (in addition to not being *near* as impressive as... really, anyone in Ulmish steel) they keep nagging me for money every few months. |
Re: Turn 5
you have to kill alneyan http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
|
Re: Turn 5
When did Alneyan become Public Bad-guy #1, anyway? I always thought that was Jurri?
|
Re: Turn 5
You shouldn't worry, actually. Indies have repelled me thrice of late, and I'm still trying to conquer another province.
At that rate, I'll have twenty High Seraphs conquering provinces before I can get a mundane army up and running... that is, not running away. |
Re: Turn 5
dont crush jurri, hes my little underwater friend http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
|
Re: Turn 5
I don't think Jurri's ever been crushed. Slowly worn down by several other players is about the closest I've ever seen (except for a 1 vs. 1 game where he let me take Ermor, but that hardly counts). Besides, all my troops sink.
|
Re: Turn 5
Nah . . . I have beeeeeeten Jurri several times in 1x1 action. He's a weakling shrouded in puffery. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Anyways, those alone are more crushes than you can claim, aren't they? (Speaking of crushing, aren't we long due another duel? Well, once your schedule frees up, remember to drop a line! ) You and me, Ygorl, would do better to worry for the devils we don't know. Like Shmonk or lebarjack or who have we: who's to say there isn't some undefeated monster amongst us silently laughing at our obviously too high regard for each other, secure in the knowledge that our drawing the attention only makes their work all the easier. And Alneyan, didn't we agree way back that you would be my prophet, not the other way around? When we had that ecclesiastical trial? No going back now! -The weakling, shrouded in puffery (I love that word! Whoever came up with it deserves a medal. ) |
Re: Turn 6
Turn 6 is out.
We will keep the deadline tomrrow (Tuesday, May 23rd at 9pm ET.) 'cause we're doin' smashing! Pasha |
Re: Turn 5

We are obviously not the kind of dreaded monster you describe. |
Re: Turn 5
You should definitely worry about me. I'm prone to make mistakes left and right, all the while trying to disguise them as "traps" for the veterans. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif
I've only come close to winning 1 game, and that was a while ago. When you see me in action (you get to close to my domain), you'll see what I'm talking about. Though you probably won't have to worry about me in this game, I don't like spiders that much (they're creepy looking, and hairy). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 5
your description of spiders reminds me of myself after an allnight dominions session...
|
Re: Turn 5
double post (yay, go me) ulm (ygorl) has some kickass knights. f9 which brings hteir attack to like 16-18 and e9 which gives them 28 prot+reinvig. good idea there buddy.
|
Re: Turn 5
So gang up on Ulm now (Ygorl)? As well as Caelum (Alneyan)? Or we can choose, the ground pounders or the flyers, both are a menace, or so I'm hearing. Not that I bow to popular opinion, but I'll follow the crowd. Nope, not me.
Death to Ulm!! Death to Caelum!! Pet the peace-loving Spiders, they like it!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
Re: Turn 5
Hey, I ain't no menace to nobody. I wouldn't even think of pounding the ground, let alone any cute spidery bodies.
I say this having never been provoked; please, don't provoke my gentle metal-clad teddybears and make me a liar! |
Re: Turn 5
Shmonk, just flaming arrows both of them into dust (you KNOW you want to)
