Re: Screenies!
Looks awesome.

Re: Screenies!
Every screenshot, every single one, has been amazing in terms of whetting my appetite for Dom3. The Ulm "Enigma of Steel" description matched with the Steel Warrior has me dying to play Ulm in a non-Black Forest way for the first time... ever.
Seriously, kudos. I wasn't certain how much the new themes would grasp my attention but I haven't seen a mis-step yet. |
Re: Screenies!
Yeah, I like Enigma of Steel, myself. I really like the stealthy bit. We'll have to see how well they can pull it off. Heck, I played a couple games without using Ulmish cavalry anyway (yeah, yeah, don't ask). The fact they still get magic crafting bonuses in EA is good to me.
Heh. Actually, I was wondering why, for thematic reasons, the developers did not decide to create unique magical items/artifacts for the different eras. In fact, It seems to me that all artifacts in the game ought to be era specific. Maybe we'll see something like this in Dom IV. =$= |

Just a matter of priority. Getting the game finished was more important. It might appear at a later date. > like to read and see about Machaka Machaka has not been changed much atm. Defence is probably changed a bit, but I'm not sure in what ways. There are some vague ideas on an early Machaka, but nothing that will appear in the release version or in the first patch. |
Re: Screenies!
What about Late Machaka & Pythium?
Many would be happy to play some sort of byzantine Pythium... |
Re: Screenies!
Not there yet

One of the new Mictlan summonables. Mictlan is one of the nations with numerous new summonables.

Re: Screenies!
I'd like to see some of the new-look Ermor, particularly Early Era (as I'm curious to see what they're like at that point given that, in theory, the shift to an undead nation comes in Late Era).
|
Re: Screenies!
Early Era Ermor has more archaic lineup of troops (Leve, Accensus and Rorarus instead of Velites and Alae Legionnaires, and Lizard Auxiliares (C'tissians) and Gladiators (as Pythium in MA) that aren't available to Ermor later on). They still (or already?) have Hastati, Principi and Triarii.
Mages are different. Flamen, Pontifex, Augur and Augur Elder are mages-priests with less emphasis on the priest part, with few more powerful priests dedicated to the rising faith in the Prophet Shrouded In White. Powerful paths are in Death and Astral, but weak Fire is common, and their Augurs are exceptionally versatile for Early Age where most nations have elementally attuned creatures as their best mages. Holy 3 Archbishops, all ancient and starting to suffer from it even with their powers of rejuvenation (96 / 90 years, when normal max age for human is about 50) can also heal afflictions, and the sacred Equites of the Sacred Shroud recuperate them naturally. Here is an edited image of an Augur. It shows his randoms on the same screen; usually you have to click on the question mark. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/151198b4.jpg |
Re: Screenies!
ACK! Spoilers!
|
Re: Screenies!
I'm not sure I'd read a thread called screenies in the forum for a yet to be released game if I was concerned with spoilers. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif From what I hear though, beta testers would be really hard pressed to show us everything.

Re: Screenies!
Any cool new blood summons? How about anything more powerful than the Demon Lords?

I'm not sure if Doom Horrors can be summoned with Wish any more, at least without them going wild and eating your own troops when you most need them (see: Eater of the Dead). And Demon Lords are supposed to be Evil with lots of Blood Slaves. Hmm. HMmmm! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif I just recalled the perfect unit to show. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |

Awe +6, three full immunities, Fire shield (10 ap).
The rest you can see in the picture. Pretty good for someone unarmed and unarmoured. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/b6256cf0.jpg |
Re: Screenies!
Oh, and OF COURSE, The Messenger from the High Priests of Illwinter, the Accursed One, the Name Shrouded in Mystery, the Bane of the Non-Scandinavian Fans, Mystifier, The Error Message of Doom:

Wow. That seraph is awe inspiring. I really like its details like the six wings, and the fact that you can't see its face (Attached is "real" seraph pic) .
There are some really cool angels in the bible and in the apocryphs, some of which are evil (samael, lucifer, asmodeus and satan) and some goodly. I recall from somewhere seeing an image of an angel that is made of many faces with many eyes, I don't recall its name but it was really cool looking. I wonder if more angels had made it into dominions... |
Re: Screenies!
I believe you mean the Hezekiel's Wheel.
|
Re: Screenies!
Bah! As long as there is no evil counterpart called the Sans Seraph, I will not be satisfied! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
|
Re: Screenies!
Funny how in The Bible (unlike the new testament), Satan is pretty much just a lousy lawyer.
The Seraph is cool. ^_^ |

Does magic duel still exist? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

But you are right, in the bible all angels are mere servants of god, with little identity or character (at least this was the preferred way the depict them, so that ppl won't worship them) |
Re: Screenies!
I'd love to see some of the unique national heroes.
Alongside that, -anything- resembling changes to Carrion Woods would be awesome to share. I loves me them Carrion Woods! |

That's how my bible teacher used to refer to him while we were learning that (it was also pretty true). And that book features the second baddest-assed Satan in The Bible. But I digress... More screenies! (preferably featuring some cool undeads, preferably of the more earthly kind http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif) |

Re: Screenies!
I don't think there are any new Earth spells, but I could be wrong. There have been few interesting changes to spells, though.
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...43247-temp.jpg Their costs are also down to 3 gems. |
Re: Screenies!
Long post coming in!
Chapter 1: So You Want To See A Hero? http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/3111af1a.jpg Chapter 2: An Apple a Millennium Keeps Death at bay Or, Tjatse ain't a Niefelheim hero. http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...43258-temp.jpg Chapter 3: 'Tis a Great Eagle. 'Tis a common specimen, and unlike that shifter yonder, 'tis neither resistant to cold nor especially flammable. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/6a6d7852.jpg Chapter 4: We Have A Leviathan Too This trio won't make the main meal of a banquet, but I'm sure you can come up with alternative uses. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...z/b1718120.jpg |

Tjatse looks like an ordinary Jarl. Otherwise cool stuff.

Well, what about the Unfrozen? Tribe of stone-age people freed from a glazier, complete with a mage? Oh, right, ice doesn't count as ground. So, what about a Tupilak? They are nice, Late Age Atlantis national things. DDDW, it creates a Tupilak from parts of various animals, and the creature is then able to change forms between them. The most common recipe has seal, raven and reindeer for mobility, and bear for fighting capabilities. Oh... sorry, I forgot it isn't a summon. Nor recruitable; that one pic Kristoffer posted long ago, the one which has an Atlantian riding something that looks like an undead bear, must be a hero or something. Hey, I know! What about a poison golem! Construction 9, DDDDEE, 35 gems. You should know the icons, they've all been used in Dom2 already (both resistances are immunities, of course, this being a golem. Banefire Shield is only strength 5, though. http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...43407-temp.jpg |

Troll kings court is upped with war trolls and troll moose knights. Also: http://ulm.illwinter.com/dom3/Agarta_sum.jpg http://ulm.illwinter.com/dom3/Agartha_ench.jpg |
Re: Screenies!
Err... Oops?
Agartha's new Enchantments, as you can see, have Earth as primary path, while Conjurations are primary Death. Should've remembered that. Oh, and Late Age Agartha (only it has those E/D summons, MA enchanted statues instead of corpses, and EA only produced the statues and (non-human) corpses) can also create exploding Fire Corpses. They're cheap at 1 fire gem, but don't fare that much better than plain soulless. Until they die, that is. Of course, you'll have a hard time getting them to your enemy alone, and come an ill-timed arrow or Banishment... |
Re: Screenies!
*drools*
Thanks. |
Re: Screenies!
Damn... I just realized I forgot to tell what a Tupilak actually does. The spell, Send Tupilak, is a remote assassin similar to Earth Attack etc.

Re: Screenies!
It's a different way to Curse someone. Costs one gem IIRC.

Aaah, I see.
Hey, could I see a pic of Sea Serpent? Have they changed? |
Re: Screenies!
They havn't changed IIRC

Re: Screenies!
I see then. Show Naiads then. Please?
|
Re: Screenies!
Bah, you just want to see a naked lady. You wont get that. THe naiad is robed in blue silk.
