Ouch.

Ouch. I just lost badly against the Mictlan horde. I have no idea whether I can stand against their onslaught. If anyone wants to stab the Mictlanese, I'd be greatful. But right now I'm looking at their army and my god. It's not good.

The victory was costly for us, if not Pyrhhic. Your damned archers always do a fine job of wiping out my Jaguar Fiends. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Well, don't worry - I'm about to march on Ulm's capital, and if he has the courage to fight it out, I will take severe casualties (although I will still win.)

Mictlan just returned the favor, getting whipped soundly by the Sauromation horde. No need for stabbing me now! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

Ouch. He melted my armor and killed like 100 burning ones. That hurts.

That's what I get for being over-agressive. If I'd just waited a while instead of marching on his capital that wouldn't have worked http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Re: Ready to form Voltron!

...and 120+ of your abysian infantries and 21 of your mages.
The battle has been fought on open ground and even without province defence!
I have lot of mages that can cast those spells so i don't see why that could not work out of my capital... You have been punished for you arrogance and overconfidence both on private and public communications. Now we will see who will have to "be generous", "to finish off" or to "have the courage" to fight the other.

The turn files are corrupted http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I think I can fix it by changing the name of the saved game folder but give me a bit to see if I can figure out what happened.

DrPraetorious January 4th, 2007 03:42 PM

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich

Okay, I was watching movies on this machine when it hosted, and media player crashed my machine.

So I restarted. There was some turn file corruption already so this might be a coincidence.

Anyway, I renamed the game 150mp2 and it should work now - you'll all download the new turn files automatically (and mine at least isn't weird) so everything should be fine.

Let me know if you notice anything strange, I still have the previous directory.

DrPraetorious January 4th, 2007 04:54 PM

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich

There's definitely something up with my machine, or at least with internet explorer.

Before we do anything else, can everyone check the timestamps on the .trn files you got? If they're not newer than 1:51 PM eastern time, *delete the one you have* and then reconnect.

I run these dom3 tasks in the background and I'm never sure what I have running and what I've killed - I'm doing directory carpentry and I'm trying to do this while totally tanked on flu meds, so please bear with me.

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich

To find the files of interest (on a windows machine, if you use anything else I'll assume you're familiar):

right-click on any "dominions" shortcut.
go "properties"
go to the "shotcut" tab (at the top)
click the "find target" button (bottom-middle)
go into folder "savedgames"
go into folder "150mp2"
click on "properties"

You'll see a "date created". Check that it isn't too early.

Out of character here:

The writing is on the wall for Mictlan. My hat's off to Frank for fighting me to a standstill, turning the tide, and surging toward my capital.

It's just a matter of time for us now, I am afraid! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

The game is no fun if people stale, so I turned off the interval - but there are only four of us, can we try to get turns in every 48 hours? Is anyone out of town?

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich

The new turn is ready. Since Havis is not sure how often he can play during this period, I'll be leaving the time limit off until further notice.

At the very least, every VP province should have a fortress, once anyone is in striking distance.

Preferably, this should involve people casting three red seconds a lot http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. That spell is so cool.

Thank you all very much, this has been a very fun game from which i have learned A LOT being my first MP game, especially from my endless clash with Dr.Praetorius. A bad error of mine lead finally Frank to his victory, but i think that's ok after all...thank you again

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich

I'm going to shut the game down, then, as everyone has had their look at the final situation. Congrats again to Frank! The bastard.
