Velusion mailed you the server ip/port. You have to connect and upload your pretender.

As far i understand velusion don't use the emailed pretenders for that.

More likely I just put them in the wrong spot!

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

Ok I have almost everything... I just need the following:

R'lyeh – Reay to connect to the server (I just sent you the address)
Midgard – Folket to connect and upload your pretender (I never got an email so I'm sending you the server address in a PM)

I must have been putting the god files in the wrong spot... but everything seems to be uploaded and almost ready!

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

Did you use the god files sent to you in the e-mails? the one I uploaded is different than the one I originally sent; just want to make sure I am using the right one.

Apparently I didn't correctly... its fine to upload a new one if you haven't changed your password.

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

we all should upload. When I did it told me that someone else was filling my slot.

Interesting. I simply put the pretender files in the Eventide savegame folder. Perhaps it was the god you sent me that was filling the slot?

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

I will connect to the server tonight (Australia time). Hopefully we can get underway.

Reay January 31st, 2007 06:50 AM

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

Done.. only Midgard (Folket) left to upload.

Folket January 31st, 2007 09:34 AM

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

Ready to go now.

Reay January 31st, 2007 10:46 AM

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

BTW there is a new patch 3.06 so I guess we should all patch before we start?

Velusion January 31st, 2007 03:43 PM

Re: Random Nations, Late Era (Full - Waiting on Go

We have started!

Server has been updated to 3.06 before start. Make sure and update your client before connecting.

There will be a stats page available soon.

Stats [http://67.66.187.69/dominions3/stats.php?game=Eventide]Here[/url]!

Note: I'm not sure why it's marking some people has having missed turns - as we haven't played any turns yet I'm not really concerned. I pretty sure it will be correct after the first turn is hosted.

Meglobob January 31st, 2007 04:42 PM

Someone, somewhere as a sick sense of humour...

That stats page is jazzy.

My (Ulm's) starting position is sooo funny.

Very jazzy, except that my name is spelled wrong. Must be karma. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

*edit*

I can't connect, hangs on "Waiting for game info"

Beautiful, Job well done Velusion!

You did an excellent job hosting our last game (shame I couldn't finish it), but this one seems to be massively improved, let's hope nothing goes wrong this time.

Kinda feel guilty not paying you for this...

Very Nice

Very nice stats page!

Why does it say that some players "missed" at turn?

Don't know really... but they are able to do thier turns it seems... I bet it will be correct after the first host.

Server

The game again appears hung on the server. Not sure why - but I'm going to leave it alone for now. If you run into connectively problems please let me know. Unfortunatly I can't really test it from work.

CyborgMoses January 31st, 2007 06:08 PM

Re: Server

I'm trying to connect to play my turn, but I'm stuck at "Receiving turn file". It's just sitting there.

RamsHead January 31st, 2007 06:19 PM

Re: Server

Twice I have been in the process of downloading the map, and both times when I am just over half way through, I get a nagot gick fel. It says something about a bad sever packet. I will try later.

Meglobob January 31st, 2007 06:22 PM

Re: Server

The map takes a long time to download, 10 minutes or so for me.

Also if you get a bad packet, just keep trying. Had this in another MP, can take 3-4 goes before you get it. Fortunatly you only after download the map successfully once.

Velusion January 31st, 2007 06:27 PM

Re: Server

Ok... made some changes to the switches (how they are ordered) and I was able to connect, end my turn, and then reconnect (I wasn't able to do that before). The application is also not grabbing tons of memory and holding it (100MB+) as it was earlier.

I'm not sure it's fixed for good, but go ahead and connect.

BTW I made a back of the game with the pretenders all loaded before I upgraded to 3.06, so worse comes to worse we can go back to that.

Velusion January 31st, 2007 06:29 PM

Re: Server

Yea.. it might just take along time to download the map making it harder for others to connect. I'm not going to mess with it again until later tonight.

CyborgMoses January 31st, 2007 06:47 PM

Re: Server

All right, I managed to get through and play my turn. Thanks for the quick fix.

You think ten minutes makes it long! Try using dailup, then you can complain. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Anyways, as that saying goes: Children taste good when grilled. No, that's not it. Third times a charm. Yeah, that sounds good.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)

From the host: "It is hoped that players will normally be able to play every 24 hours, with the occasional missed day."

At least the first 10 turns should be go a little faster, so Reay and Shovah32 please do your turn.

Reay February 1st, 2007 11:56 AM

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)

I did my turn around the same time you created your message.

Looks like only Shovah to go.

I really wanted to play in this game, but I'm having fatal issues with the 3.6 patch. Until that's resolved, I don't want to hold up everyone else's fun. Feel free to delegate my empire to computer or anyone else who wants to play.

Sorry guys http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I've been in communication with Jazzepi. This sucks, but I'm going to go ahead and get a replacement for him so we can keep things going.

Looks like there are more games forming every day so hopefully he can get in one soon once his problem is fixed!

Jazzepi February 2nd, 2007 03:59 AM

I think... I might have fixed it. I can get into the server now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I'm gonna play a round and cross my fingers.

Oh, good. Unfortunately, it seems that Reay was hit by a bus or something.

Reay is in Australia - so expect a time zone difference. As long as he gets in one a day lets all be thankful http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)

Yep just finished my turn now. I get home around 6pm Perth time which is about 14-17 hours ahead of US time. So I guess most of you would be sleeping, 1am to 4am. It would be morning in Europe aswell.

Maybe you're able to do your next turn as well. Its quickhost, just in case you don't know its hosted as soon the last player did his turn. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Heh, since I didn't get in the first time I signed up, I guess I'll sub for T'ien Ch'i. Geeze, when I said I'd play any nation, I figured I'd at least get to design a pretender. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Heh, well this is my first LA game, and my first time taking T'ien Ch'i since Dom 2, so you might be quite happy if we're next door as you'll probably have a chance to paddle me pretty good as I try and stand up on shakey Bambi legs.

Yeah I'll get two turns in if I can. On weekends I can play earlier. Only Shovah/Pangaea to go.

Perhaps we are all waiting for Pangaea?
