Re: Turn 19
Has the latest turn been sent yet.....just checking, I wouldn't want to miss one http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
To many interesting things happening http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 19
No, ive had to delay... ill try to host this evening.
|
Re: Turn 19
Sorry for the late hosting... I have some personal issues going on right now that are going to slow down hosting to 48 hrs... this should only be for a week or two... please still try to get your turn in on time, but the game may move a little slower.
thanks. |
Re: Turn 19
Ulm sacrificed nearly 2 hundred troops in exchange for the death of nearly 950 undead.
Only a 1000 to go....we can do that http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: Turn 19
The heroic troops of T'ien Ch'i are placing their bodies in the path of the undead horde to save their masterm the king of Arcoscephale, from a horrible fate. The soldiers do not believe they will be returning to join their families alive (maybe as zombies but not alive).
|
Re: Turn 19
Say goodbye to the never really mighty kingdom of Man that hasn't won a single battle (o.k. except those 200 soldiers against 10 province defense). In about 2 turns it will be vanquished and in about 4 turns forgotten. To prevent this I will give all my gems and all my money to the one who writes the best ode to the kingdom of Man so it will never be forgotten.
|
Re: Turn 19
Let me tell you a tale of men so brave
In the forest of Man so long ago A kingdom whose realm stretched least a mile Their king was Cupid-o twooo Upon noble steeds so fair and manly male In the forest of Man so long ago Heroes shrouded in fog and misty mist Their king was Cupid-o twooo A battle lost and then some more In the forest of Man so long ago Hundreds oh hundreds killed some men Their king was Cupid-o twooo The darkness crept in from shady vale In the forest of Man so long ago They fought and fell oh far too well Their king was Cupid-o twooo Now gone and lost at end of time In the forest of Man so long ago A tale of madness and turns turned bad Their king was Cupid-o twooo |
Re: Turn 19
There once was a kingdom called Man,
They had a terrible plan, Killing Micah they tried, But they all went and died, When Arrow Fend came to their land. |
Re: Turn 19
Only two caring about Man? Well, after the poets of Tien Chi posted their heroic song and the evil Marignon posted their perfectly true Limerick the rest must have given up.
Very hard to decide. I would say 3/4 - 1/4. Have fun with the gems. |
Re: Turn 19
Oh the joy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I didn't want to do a limerick but rather a song. The melody you have to come up with yourself as I did. He he |
Re: Turn 19
I'm not evil yet, I just started my blood research...oh, umm, don't mind those boots on all of my important old mages. Or the virgins locked up in the basement, they're just...in the witness protection program.
Whatever, Ermor's worse, blame them. |
Re: Turn 19
I have to object Micah. I have conducted the affairs of my Empire with honor, and certainly have in no way acted "evil" Now I face five aggressors who have assaulted my lands without provocation in an opportunistic and cowardly alliance. On the other hand, the war seems to be straining their resources quite a bit. If you are looking for something vulnerable once you have finished devouring the Empire of Man, I might be able to provide you with some valuable targets.
|
Re: Turn 19
If by "affairs of my empire" Ermor means the slaughter of Abysia and Pangaea, as well as the spread of his deadly dominion, I feel like he is indeed evil. Let the alliance last until the final vestiges of Ermor's heresy have been driven from the land!
|
Re: Turn 19
I said evil, not dishonorable. I think the mass slaughter of your own civilians qualifies as such. My nation has responded to the aggression of Man and Patala after they attacked us without warning, but has otherwise been quite peaceful in regard to civilized nations. While we must admit to the use of sacrificial blood rites we feel that it is for the common good, and the beneficial dominion of our god allows the population of Marignon to grow each month, even accounting for the blood spilled by those willing to sacrifice their lives for the good of their country. We doubt Ermor can say the same.
|
Re: Turn 19
Abysia and Pangaea were the aggressors in both of those conflicts, and they died for their foolishness. As for the mass slaughter of civilians... well I've certainly never given any orders that would be detrimental to my own people. Although there are less and less as the years go by... maybe they are all packing up and leaving?
|
Re: Turn 19
Ahem... Micah: "without warning" is a lie! The noble kingdom of Man announced the attack a turn before it happend. We might have attacked but the kingdom is (yes, it still exists) honorable as it stayed true to its word in the Concours de Poetry.

Re: Turn 19
Ooh, this is going to be my second multiplayer game in a row lost because my mages refused to cast anything except Blade Wind. Last time, it was EA Agartha spamming Blade Wind on Niefel Giants instead of fire spells, and in the climactic battle, my pretender using it instead of the freshly researched Falling Fires; this time, it's LA Agartha spamming Blade Wind on ethereal troops instead of using Fireball, Dust to Dust, Control the Dead, or the freshly researched Wither Bones, all of which would have been effective and none of which would have harmed my own troops (all my undead were on the other side of the battlefield from the ethereals).
Okay, to be fair, what's really going to kill me is Ermor bypassing my armies by going through Ulm's territory. |
Re: Turn 19
Well fought CyborgMoses. I do have to say that was an interesting battle to watch. Curse those mass banishments all of you are using against me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif! I saw at least one of your mages was using wither bones which got quite the flinch out of me when I first saw it, and it certainly saved me that not all of them were using it. In any case, don't throw the towel in just yet, you've been putting up a tenacious defense on my Eastern flank, and with my forces and attention divided as it is, it's by no means over yet. And as far as sweet irony goes, Orion and his eternal knights certainly earned their pay wouldn't you agree? I think if my forces had not routed, they might have won that battle for me single handedly. Still, rally your forces! And let us see if your allies can bring a rescue force to bear.
|
Re: Turn 19
I'm still having fun reading the updates. I was Abysia, long ago. And I warned many of you through diplomatic efforts that Atreides/Hellboy were going to win after rolling over Pangea and myself, yet nothing was done. Show me I'm wrong, eh? heheh http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Turn 19
Don't worry Tromper, their alliance has got me pretty well pinned down. Johnarryn and Micah are both in excellent positions to keep me contained and build their power while Im busy fending off attacks from all directions. This game will definitely go to one of them in the end because Im stuck in the mud as far as expansion and research unfortunately. Its just a matter of how much damage I do on the way out and who it's directed at, haha.
|
Re: Turn 19
You think you are stuck in the mud ?
Caelum finds itself face down in the mud and copping the occasional kick in the guts. Whatever have we done to deserve this fate ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: Turn 19
Haha, yeah, I got one Wither Bones cast. I guess all the rest of my mages thought that the death gems I gave them were for jewelry. Still, you're right, I could make a comeback. OKAY HERE WE GO HERE WE GO WHOOO
|
Re: Turn 19
Where did that 1700+ strong army of longdead go? I swear it was making its way through my lands a few turns ago....
Oh well time for another offensive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 19
What the... Why the heck is Marignon cutting off Ulm's troops so that they can't get at Ermor? Do we have a sudden betrayal here?
|
Re: Turn 19
My guess would be that right now, Ulm is wishing Marignon was still there http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Turn 19
Wow.....6250 undead.... and the news that Arcoscephale has cowardly turned its back on the alliance...oh dear.
|
Re: Turn 19
We note with amusement the label of "coward" being thrown in our direction... we, who have fought the longest (and, may I say, most successfully) against Ermor. Arcoscephale does not fear to fight... rather, we wish to have freedom in our movements and plans for the future; a freedom which Marignon and others have already availed themselves of.
We remain a foe of Ermor, and will no doubt continue to clash with them... though we turn our eyes to the churlish nation of Ulm as well. They may rue the day that they challenged the bravery of Arcoscephale. |
Re: Turn 19
And what about me, master, what do you command me to do now?
|
Re: Turn 19
I am really sorry for the delays of the last few days; my internet service, which is sketchy at best, completely cut out for a full three days. It just started working enough for me to post about how much Comcast sucks and run a set of turns, but I would suggest finding a substitute to take over my position, as I don't know how long this respite will last. Again, my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
|
Re: Turn 19
I know not of what Arcosephale speaks, Marignon has peacefully negotiated with her neighbors and has not taken any liberties to imperil the alliance against the undead scourge. We think it unwise to risk splintering the coalition by acting alone. We must work together in case Ermor attempts to ruin the world with their dark magic, else we may fall separately.
|
Re: Turn 19
Man and Patala must have enjoyed "peacefully negotiating" with the several hundred Marignon soldiers sieging their castles.
Arcoscephale will take its risks on its own rather than allow Marignon to expand at its leisure while we delay Ermor. |
Re: Turn 19
I was never informed of the participation of either of those nations in the coalition. They had also been the aggressors in their war with my nation, Marignon merely answered their attacks in kind.
No matter though, we are certainly capable of sending the aid we have been giving to Arcosephale elsewhere. If you still stand against Ermor please let us know if we may be of assistance. |
Re: Turn 19
I just wanted to apologize to everyone. I think I'm the one holding up the game right now. I am in the middle of my finals weeks and I am absolutely buried under work and studying. I have virtually no time this next week and a half for dominions, though I will try to get the current turn in. If anyone has severe objections to the game being put on hold until the 11th, please say so, or tell Johnarryn so he and I can find a temporary sub. Thanks guys, and again, sorry for the delays.
|
Turn ? Out
And we're moving again! Atreides got his turn in despite his dreaded German workload. I will try to keep it to 72 hours, maximum, at this point.
|
Re: Turn ? Out
Going for the Abitur, Atreides?
|
Re: Turn ? Out
Actually I just have an absurd foreign language requirement for my degree combined with a professor who adamantly believes that doing work for a class besides her's constitutes a severe breach of academic responsibility. In any case, I get to apologize to everyone once again. I'm done with my classes, but my computer is currently being shipped to my new home address, and I literally crashed the older PC I currently have here when I clicked the army setup screen for one of my larger hordes of undead. I should be back up and running on Wednesday or Thursday, and as Johnarryn said, we will then be to a 72 hour schedule. Again, my apologies.
|
Re: Turn ? Out
Drum roll please.
I have received Atreides turn. I will host this evening, assuming I have all other turns in (at work now, don't have time to check). |
Re: Turn ? Out
Well, I would have hosted, but i was waiting on a few more turns (i should have checked earlier). Im waiting for Agartha and Tien Chi at the moment... please get the turns to me ASAP... if I don't hear anything from those players I will go ahead and host tonight.
|
Turn 52
Turn 52 out. Have it in in 72 hours at the latest.... that would be 8 pm EST on May 21st. That means everyone, Atreides.
|
Re: Turn 52
Despite the lag between turns over the last few weeks, I have enjoyed this game thoughly....I really can't beleive I'm still alive, oh and alliance members Ermor has his army near my lands...feel free to attack from the south...hint hint... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
|
Re: Turn 52
Again, I'll apologize for those lags, but I can promise that we are back on track, at least in my case. It is unfortunate that I must pass this information along to you, but that is one of many armies, and probably more devastating news, is that your only ally left in the South, Caelum, is currently being devoured by the Arcos. It's up to you and Agartha to turn me back, and I look forward to meeting your efforts.
|
Re: Turn 52
The armies of Arcoscephale are merely conducting defensive maneuvers in enemy territory. Nothing to worry about.
However, Ermor may want to be careful about his southern flank... as it is not as secure as he seems to think.... |
Turn 53
Turn 53 was sent out yesterday. Due by Tuesday, May 22nd at 8 pm.
|
Re: Turn 52
Defensive maneuvers indeed. Its massed Caelumite priests against elephants http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif Its going to be short and ugly.
|
54
Turn 54 is out.
|
55
Turn 55 out.
|
Turn 56
Turn 56 out. Finally.
|
Re: Turn 56
The Ashen Empire humbly offers their surrender to the nation of Marignon. Unfortunately, I failed to read the guide to playing LA Ermor and didn't begin to expand my magical diversity until way late, and now I can't begin to stand against Marignon's SCs. That and it is really getting soul crushing spending 5 hours on my turns. Thanks for a great game all, I actually enjoyed when I was fighting off that alliance of the 5 of you the most of any game I've played. Congratulations Micah.
|
Re: Turn 56
Anyone object to calling the game then? Sounds like Arco's not willing to carry on at this point in the face of my empire of blood and fire without any allies, and I feel like I've got the game won with Ermor out of the picture.
|
Re: Turn 56
Um Wow!
Well Ulm will happily submit to the rule of Marignon, The BLack Cult thinks that the people of Marginon might not be too bad after all. Yeah that was pretty crazy, I surprised that I lasted as long as I did! In hindsight I would have taken a totally different pretender - I had a Monolith FFS! with A4D4N1. Would have been so much better off choosing a pretender with high Blood, Death or Astral magic paths. This was the first game I signed up to after getting into the MP scene....needless to say I've learnt quite a bit since then! GG all, throughly enjoyed! Unless Arco wants to continue http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
