Ok, the deadline for sending me passwords and uploading gods was 48 hours... I waited over 72. I'm giving Folket's and UninspiredName's spots to the other players that requested them to get things moving. Hope to see both Folket and UninspiredName in future games!

Arghaii is assigned Man
Vanmoth is assigned Mictlan

Both of you need to send me passwords for your pretenders ASAP! (I'll follow this up with an email to you).

Other than that we are just waiting on Pythium (Tyrant) to upload his pretender.

Opps, sorry i missed that, i'll upload tonight.

Thanks for the game.
Btw good idea sending me that e-mail, I'm not sure I would had checked the forums today. I didn't expect a vacant spot anyway.

Let's get rolling:)

The great pale skinned people of Agartha rise now from their slumber. Banners held high they shall bring civilization to the barbarians and knowledge of the true God to the unbelievers.

Prepare yourselves for conversion!

I love MA games, if anyone has to take an extended break or wants out, let me know. With MA i am pretty familiar with every race.

My apologies.

I put shin. on AI. After taking it over, it had only its capital, and 90 percent unrest from bad events(misfortune 3).

When I volunteered to take it over, I was not looking for a nation in a great spot, but I cannot take the misfortune 3.

Jazzepi April 28th, 2007 09:05 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I have the best new strat. Play in as many games as possible and take misfortune three, order three. As long as you get past a certain point in the game without some of the terrible misfortune 3 events, you stay in. Otherwise you just quit and play one of your other ones!

you should offer your spot to someone else instead of going ai

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I was not the original player, so i did not take the mis. 3. I was asked to take it over and i did. However, velusion said it should have just gone on ai, so that is where it is.

If I had started the game i would have stuck it out. But i would not ask anyone to take that over a nation so handicapped.

I have to agree with Xietor. No one deserves to be given a hopeless position. Switching over to AI is fine, provided the situation is actually hopeless.

Now that the latest patch is out, I'm going to leave this game down until the other games hosted by the same server complete.

At that point I will patch the game on the server and make them available again.

So this game will be unavailable for about 24 hours.

dumb question, does this mean players can patch now, or do we have to wait until the next turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

All my other games still require the 3.06 patch. If you playing in my other games, and have already completed your turn - you may patch with no problem - provided you don't get back into the game.

Just DO NOT connect to a server still running 3.06 with a patched 3.08 client.

Kojusoki May 4th, 2007 01:00 PM

Before. It will be patched and then the server will be started up tonight.

Server has processed the turn and is back up with 3.08. Make sure you have the patch!

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Welp I dunno what the deal is, but I've staled a second time. Not in a row. And yes I'm patched to 3.08. Was unable to log in all day as the server was down and this hasn't been a problem in my other games. No big deal, but. *shrug*

Velusion May 5th, 2007 02:00 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

The server was down all day waiting for my other games to catch up with it so I could patch everything at once. I took it down yesterday after the natural timer ran out (you staled on that turn normally) and it didn't come back up tonight.

tromper May 5th, 2007 02:13 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Huh. Well you know what's what - I must have goofed my timing with a quicker, errr, slower clock or something. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

Velusion had trouble with the timer before, but I think he managed to fix that by migrating from a VMware machine to a real server.

I have to denounce treason by Eressil3 from Atlantis. As he agreed to a NAP and attacked me later.
The same turn that he attacked me he sent an in game message saying "i declare war upon you" and that's something that is not suposed to happen with a NAP.

That's true.

But Oceania is not fair at all. Atlantis diplomats remember how this so called "NAP" was born.

From Oceania :
"NAP ?"

From Atlantis :
"Yes !"

And that's all...

So what's this ? A 1 month NAP ? A 2 months NAP ? A NAP with 1 month warning before hostilities ? No that's just nothing...
Sorry but a true NAP must contain at least one breaking condition. You have to admit what you call a NAP is just undefendable.

You can still send your further complaints to the atlantian minister of justice !

So, I must assume that you have nothing to do with this treason?
and that you have not allied with him from before the game started?

Baalz May 10th, 2007 11:54 AM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I don't really care what you assume, but FWIW the only role I played in this was letting him know, since he shared a border with you, that you were prone to not honor NAPs. I haven't even attacked you, though I will now that you've decided we're at war.

Manuk May 10th, 2007 12:58 PM

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

For the people that were not in Radiance game. I attacked Baalz when he attacked my ally despite that I specifically asked not to do so. I see that of honoring my alliance with Shmonk and that's better than dealing with someone that didn't even answer diplomatic messages.

Sorry for this long explanation but at least is complete.

Please remember it's a game ! And please don't fall in the conspiracy theory !

If you want the detailed story here it is . There is no big conspiracy behind :

- I'm a beginner. I played in few games and I believe Baalz was not in. I don't know him.

- You (Manuk) sent me an alarming message (turn 2 or 3) about R'lyeh. Something like :"prepare your armies, R'lyeh he's not in a diplomatic mood !!!"
- I found this message rather odd so early in the game. Therefore *I* made the first step toward R'lyeh to judge him by myself.
- R'lyeh seemed pretty diplomatic. So *I* (not him) suggested an alliance to crush Oceania. Sorry Manuk but I don't like to be pushed by strange alarming messages. Baalz answered something like "Why not ? But not now..." He wanted to destroy another nation.

So you see Manuk : you was not pre-targeted by Baalz but by me !

Why ? Because our scouts knows what you're hiding inside your walls !!! Here is a report !

Re: Afterthought - Random Nations, Middle Era (Sig

I have noticed that diplomatic efforts and agreements often get confused, at least in larger games. What I've started doing is writing down what I've agreed to. Or better yet, use the forum mail system to have something to refer to in the future if need be.

But I feel sort of badly for Manuk anyway, as declaring a 'Yes!' to an obviously confused player regarding normal-ish diplomacy efforts seems rather inconsiderate and reserved for 'win at all costs' sorts of players, of which there are many. It would have been very easy to ask for clarification instead of just deluding the guy, but hey, just my opinion.

Don't let this tick you off too much, Manuk, there'll be other games comin' up. You can always drop out of a sign-up if you see someone you strongly dislike or something. And every lesson is hard. And not because of the mermaids.
