These three I will do. They'll all add a little something into an existing province.
* site:Forest of Truffles, (1) Great Boar of Carnutes, (15) Great Boars/ (15)Iron Boars (sacred versions), (1) Fay Boar, 3 Druids, 1 Druid with N2, H3, Moonvine Bracelet, Treelord's Staff
* site:Mammoth Forest, and a Mammoth commander with a Horn of Valor leading 4 Mammoths set as bodyguards.
* site:Forest of Delights, a Pan with a pair of Endless Bags of Wine leading a group of 40 Maenads.

These three I'd like to do, but where I'd like to get a bit of help:

*Lair of the kraken - pretender-sized octopus with items (there is an octopus pretender)
*Transylvania with a vampire count leading an army of infartry, peasants, villans and wolves.(LA Ulm)
* Village defended by seven samurai. (MA Bakemono)

For the Kraken - what items?
For vampires - how many commanders, how many items, how tough? also, site suggestions are velcome
For the seven samurai, their names and what weapon they should have. I'm going to add them as unique additions to any one province's defenders.

Just a few things...

When you want a deep sea province, you need to include the "_SEA_" tag as well as the "_DEP_" tag. "_DEP_" has a value of 2048 and "_SEA_" has a value of 4.

Rename ENDO6 & ENDO13 as follows to fix:
ENDO6_U_R_SEA_DEP_.gan
ENDO13_U_R_SEA_DEP_.gan

Note that the last line in ENDO6 (the description) is missing a comment marker "-".

Oh, and in ENDO9, the first line:
#landname "Camelot"
will not work because the map command requires a province number.

Instead use:
@1 landname
"Camelot"

Also in ENDO9, looks like some italic switches found their way into the gan file from your text editor "[ i ]...[ /i ]" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

ENDO7 & ENDO2 have a similar problem with #landname as ENDO9.
Instead use:
@8 landname

The drawback is that you can't use "-empty" as the 9th option when the command requires a province number.

If you are able to use it on your system, I would recommend trying the Province Editor (see my sig). It should save you a lot of time and limit syntax errors. You can still manually adjust the final output to suit your style.

The only problems that I see are (potentially) the double "#clearmagic" entries and somehow you ended up with only 6 unit lines with an "@7". Looks like you removed one manually without updating the count to "@6".

Also, "_FS_ES_DS_BS_" would require the province to have it's terrain flagged as fire, earth, death AND blood site locations, which I believe will never occur in a Dom3 generated random map.

I might also suggest making a 2nd version of the file so that folks who use the border mountains option in Dom3 are able to get this province.

Something like:

and

Commanders that don't have a head slot (for example), won't receive a helmet. It will just go *poof*. But commanders that happen to have 2 heads will receive a random helmet from the HELMET list and either the winged or flame helmet along with 2 miscellaneous items from the MISCITEM list. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I love all of these. They look like they would be great to stumble onto on a map. But most of them need to be something that is rare. Not on every map.

We need MORE people to put in some ideas. They dont have to be great or huge. We need lots of "interesting but not a big deal" province ideas for the big rare ones to get lost in.

Do we have a werewolve village yet? Shire? Vikings seaport? Abyssian rebels colonizing a volcano? Harvester trying to become a pretender by taking over an undead village?

The majority of these are fairly complex provinces with some challenging defenders and rewarding finds, but many simple, (hopefully interesting) provinces are in the pipe. I have also finished a few more "ZIGGY" provinces for addition with the next round of releases.

Ok, this is my first muddled attempt, and I'm sure there's a lot wrong with it, so be gentle. If there is anything you feel is not thematic or seems off, let me know. If I utilized the tools in some incorrect way, please correct me and let me know how to do it right. Thanks!

--Description:
--First try at a unique province. Basically the idea is a powerfull enchantress has used her magic and beauty to lull a bunch of guys into her servitude so she can live like a queen. I don't know if the Ancient Oaks is the right place, but since she's so enchanting I wanted there to be an enchantment bonus there.

Was it intentional to have random magic paths?
The current code will give Bella a 50% chance of having N3 or S1. (That may have been your intention.)

Be sure to include the file name for your creations so that users know what to name the file. The file name tells SemiRandom how to handle the province.

The @ sign is saying "Im going to make a list of items to be randomly selected". You have "1 of 7 items" and "1 of 2 magics" and "1 of 3 different possible unit types". Was that what you wanted?

Now that I have my eyes open (thank you coffee!), I can see what appears to have happened. Be sure to hit the Submit button for each individual entry/item. If you add multiple items to the list and then submit, the province editor treats your entries as a random selection. To remove an item from the list, simply double click on it in the list box.

(I might suggest that future 'province editor' created provinces be posted in the Province Editor thread or in the RanDom thread so as not to hijack Endo's idea thread. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Sorry, I thought this was the thread to compile special areas. All future items will be posted in the other thread. I didn't mean to hijack.

It's funny...coming up with ideas for "simple" provinces is harder than coming up with bi elaborate ones.

I didn't mind this thread being "caught" for the use of discussing other people's provinces.

I'm home for few days again, but don't have time for any extensive Dom-related stuff. I'm going to try out D&amp;D with a friend's family. I've never gotten a chance to really try roleplaying, so this should be fun.

My next holiday won't be before July 21st or so. I have more freedom in asking for free days now, but I'm going to save up to get longer holidays.

I cant seem to do Gandalf's Grove. The party province would have been good. Maybe I can do something later but everything I do now seems either to be bragging, or too blah.

I spent some time tonight cleaning up the few errors that I found in your Gans and tweaked the file names slightly. (Mostly to make use of the _OR_ tag on provinces that I suspected that you wanted to appear across a wider variety of terrains.)

Quantum - nice work there.
Gandalf - didn't read through all of it, but a Lake province named 'Lake of the Lady', with a sorceress named 'Lady of the Lake', and the water site 'Forest of the Lake' would do a pretty nice themed province. Perhaps she should be wielding a random sword from Constr. 6.

Maybe a water-based sorceress such as a naiad? I dont remember all the different ones.

Would you consider doing a Gandalfs Grove? I like the idea of something that mixes guru (human based) with Druid but everything I come up with is either bland or sounds too bragging for me to do for myself.
