Merci beaucoup.

Thanks.

Re: Hosting delay anticipated

Resuming... 30 hour turns reinstated as soon as everybody has their turn in.

If the system takes negative values, the deadline will be somewhere around Monday. If not, it'll be Wednesday.

Well... my guinea pigs... I'll continue to learn the administration pages.

Lazy_Perfectionist August 20th, 2007 12:54 AM

Caduceus

Caduceus, I'd like to hear from you, please.

You've stalled two out of three turns, and haven't yet gotten your turn in with this long freeze on the game.

As we're waiting on one player, not the one who requested the freeze, I've forced the next turn to arrive now...

Caduceus August 20th, 2007 10:41 AM

Re: Bragi Ready

Uhh... I never joined this game? I don't think I sent you a pretender, either. Maybe I have had a stroke...

Lazy_Perfectionist August 20th, 2007 11:19 AM

Re: Bragi Ready

Uhmm.. if you haven't been recieving the turn emails, than that means I made a mistake, and someone else is involved in R'lyeh. Sorry. My apologies to you, Caduceus.

Any idea who is playing R'lyeh? I suppose I can switch to AI without knowing that... but that isn't ideal

Caduceus August 20th, 2007 11:41 AM

Re: Bragi Ready

I'll take over if you want, but haven't played Ryleh before http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Re: Bragi Ready

Only if you want, Caduceus, only if you want.

It was my mistake, not yours.

Check your PM Lazy_Perfectionist.

Lazy_Perfectionist August 20th, 2007 07:43 PM

Re: Bragi Ready

Okay, I've changed the email address and resent the turn. Feel free to play as long as you want or set to AI if you need.

Thank you, and welcome to the game, Caduceus. Good to have you, sorry for the mixup.

If you need some ideas for R'lyeh, check out the 'Strategy Index'

Re: Bragi Ready

hurray for the brave Caduceus who was voluntold to play Ryleh.

This could be a great new tactic for filling up MP games, "I draft you you and you!"

Re: Bragi Ready

LP had my kids hostage. He told me so.

If you don't play Ry'leh, your toddler will be fed to the illithids!

LOL

At least its quick and mostly painless...

Re: Bragi Ready

Any chance of a slow-down of Bragi over labor day weekend?

Lazy_Perfectionist August 30th, 2007 12:56 PM

Re: Bragi Ready

I can slow it down to 50 hours. I can postpone it for 72 hours, or I can set the turn cycles to 72 hours.

Checking in on all mah games here. If I don't hear any particular feedback, I'll set to a 50 hour cycle, till monday/tuesday.

Cor2 August 30th, 2007 03:31 PM

Re: Bragi Ready

I am fine with whatever.

50 Hour cycle until I'm reminded to change it back.

Thanks! I missent a turn yesterday and will get to resend it at lunchtime today - EST, before going out of town for the long weekend.

So how is eveyone? Game wise that is. I mean if you want to tell me about your life thats cool. Any nasty wars going on? Tell me all your plans http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Bragi - hosting change

Wow, I just got stomped. I find the hardest armies for me to master are those with more traditional military units like Pythium.

I was really frustrated to find that for some reason the mages that I prepped to defend my capital by casting the spell that makes a single unit ethereal did not go with the defending forces. Instead they just stayed inside of the castle. They might have won me that fight on their own. Without any way to produce hydras, I'm setting myself to AI.

I suggest you all dogpile Pangea. He's just taken over quite a few territories from me, but over extended himself to do it.

Please take me off the e-mail list for turns.

Re: Bragi - hosting change

Sorry Jazzepi. I needed somewhere to expand and you where the last to offer me a NAP.

I must dissagree, I am not overextended http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif.

Jazzepi September 3rd, 2007 10:53 AM

Re: Bragi - hosting change

You didn't need somewhere to extend. I sent a scout over and there were plenty of neutrals ;P

Re: Bragi - hosting change

That is true as well. I had to hit someone fast before they got research to stop me. and Pythium becomes a holy terror late game.

dmentd September 4th, 2007 12:02 AM

Re: Bragi - hosting change

This has been a viscous game already. From what it sounds, Pythium is out and Machaka lost his capital. Blitz strategies seem effective so far.

Lazy_Perfectionist September 5th, 2007 11:11 AM

Re: Bragi - hosting change

Shall I leave this at fifty hours, or turn it down to 30?

Ramz September 5th, 2007 04:35 PM

I say we go back to 30

Caduceus September 5th, 2007 10:11 PM

I'm back, so whatever the majority says.

Cor2 September 6th, 2007 01:17 AM

Re: Bragi - hosting change

Me too. Its too slow for me. I keep forgetting what happened last turn.

Lazy_Perfectionist September 6th, 2007 01:32 AM

Re: Bragi - hosting change

Okay... three out of six. This turn will complete at the preordained time of 2:45 Saturday, or when everybody gets their turn in. Please make it the latter. The remaining turns will host on the 30 hour schedule.

Problem with Turn

I have submitted my turn three times, but the server still says that it has not received it. What should I do?

Lazy_Perfectionist September 15th, 2007 11:34 AM

Re: Problem with Turn

Wait a bit... coffee hasn't seeped into my brain. If need be, I will postpone hosting.

Uhmm... I'll look into things a bit. When did you try, and did you receive any error message or email? Try again in two hours, and let me know.

Edit: I did the postpone, but the status page isn't updating to match. I'll keep an eye on things and post when something changes.

Edit: The first postpone didn't go through (too impatient), but a bit later, the second eight hour postpone went through. Try sending in the turn once more. 2h file, Bragi, turns(at)llamaserver(dot)net. Let me know the results of that. I'll postpone again as long as this problem is unresolved.

llamabeast September 15th, 2007 12:04 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

Just had a quick look at this. It seems there are two problems:

1) It thinks your 2h file is corrupted (never seen that before).
2) It's not managing to pick up your e-mail address for some reason (this is something I need to look into), so the error messages it's trying to send to you aren't getting to you.

I'd suggest first going back into Dominions, taking the turn ('Continue where I left' so you don't actually have to do it again), then hitting 'End turn' again, and trying to send the file again. Alternatively try using a different e-mail account and see if that helps.

dmentd September 15th, 2007 12:22 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

I continued then ended as suggested. I also sent the e-mail from another account. I will give the server a few minutes and then check to see if it worked.

If I have to do so, I can try to redo the turn from another computer. That will be my next try.

dmentd September 15th, 2007 12:37 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

It did not work. I also did not get an e-mail. I will try the other computer.

Lazy_Perfectionist September 15th, 2007 01:00 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

Another account? Are you using an app like outlook/thunderbird/eudora or are you using the webinterface?

Lazy_Perfectionist September 15th, 2007 02:00 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

You could also try attaching the 2h file, and sending it to [scrubbed out to avoid spam bots]

I'll see if I can read it and send it in for you. I'd seen something similar to this once, and it may help. In that case, it was a once off.

I'll also look through my posts and see just what I did and what happened and blah de blah de blah.

llamabeast September 15th, 2007 02:38 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

E-mailing it to LP and getting him to forward it would indeed be a good idea.

Sorry I can't be more helpful on this, I can't really tell what's going on.

llamabeast September 15th, 2007 02:39 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

Oh, LP, you might want to PM your address to dmentd and then scrub it from here - otherwise your address might get cheerfully eaten by spambots.

Lazy_Perfectionist September 15th, 2007 02:58 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

Well, no matter. Yahoo was a one shot... I'll scrub it anyways, but I'm not really using it much. I think I'll end up making gmail my Dominions account in the far future.

llamabeast September 15th, 2007 03:00 PM

Re: Problem with Turn

gmail is lovely. I have every single e-mail sent to the llamaserver backed up on gmail - isn't it amazing that they give you all that space for free?

dmentd September 15th, 2007 03:59 PM

No More Problem with Turn

Hurray! A new file from the other computer appears to have worked. Sorry about the problems.

llamabeast September 15th, 2007 04:07 PM

Re: No More Problem with Turn

No worries, sorry it didn't work. Not sure what was going on with the corrupted file, but I will have to look into the business with it not grabbing your e-mail address correctly.

This is the sound of grass growing.

Hello Caelum. how have you been? have not heard from you in a while. Would you like a gift? Interested in trading gems?

What the hell is happening with Ryleh? Seems to be just setting there. thats cool. I mean that is what I like players to do.

Hello. We hope you are faring well.

Things are peaceful in Caelum. The mammoths grow strong, the seraphs fly high, and the people grow strong in body and mind under the watchful eye of Sophia, supreme deity of this world and the next.

We welcome private discussion regarding trade.

Please Delay

We had a problem at the plant and I just finished a nearly 20 hour shift. Would you please delay this game for a day. Otherwise I might stale.

Oh, and Caelum, I somehow missed your message. New job is getting to me some, and I am tired, so I will search for it tomorrow,

dmentd September 22nd, 2007 12:08 PM

Ok

Couldn't sleep. Turns in.

Re: Ok

Would anyone besides me like to see this game moved to a 48-hr. host cycle?

dmentd September 25th, 2007 04:33 PM

Turn Timing

I would welcome a change to 48 hour timing.

Lazy_Perfectionist September 25th, 2007 06:46 PM

Re: Turn Timing

Until and if someone says otherwise...
50 hr.

dmentd September 26th, 2007 12:03 AM

Re: Turn Timing

Thank you. You may have helped save my marriage, and many young single women who would otherwise be subjected to me. My turns may get better too...

TMI, I know.
