Re: Game: Bartered Souls

Machaka, clearly, the only reasonable thing to do is to go full scale war against Pythium after leaving me a handy piece of land up north? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

And I might have astral gems, Pythium. Are you getting any? ...mm, no. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well, that was a blood battle! Machaka, well fought, a little ill on your luck, but then, so was I in the later stages http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Again, a silly holiday, and I'm going to be away from thursday morning until sunday afternoon. I know it's a long gap compared to what we're used to, I hope it's all right but if people rather have it "go go!" then I'll try to find a sub.

Last Stand of the Monkeys

Our homeland has been besieged by Pythian armies for many months now, holding out a last stand. Recently, we managed to break their beseiging armies, at great cost. Now, they have brought in all 3 Air Queens to lead the siege, foes that our last few mages and troops surely cannot beat.

We know nothing of Pythium's eastern front, but here at his west he has taken the capital of Ulm, and soon that of our noble monkey gurus. We will hold out as long as we can, but with three AQs here, the next battle will surely be our last.

I'll be gone over the weekend and unable to play my turn on Saturday and Sunday. I might be bale to make my turn today, but I'm not making any promises.

Any chance for hosting to be delayed while I'm gone?

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

Do people really feel a need for this to continue? Seems to me that I have won this game and as allways I'm not to interested in a slow end game.

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

Well, the rest of the players in the game don't feel like you have won, and we have ways to prevent you from winning. We've in fact just recently started to muster the stuff we need.

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

I would like to add one day to the hosting time til one week after new year. I will have lots to do and this game is a drain.

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

To be honest Folket, I'm happy to concede to you. With Marignon going AI, I don't think there's anything to stop you. I have a sizable force, but I'm stuck in the corner. I thought about simply invading Abysia so that I'd have a conduit to attack you through, but I don't know if this game is worth it to me.

We should at least wait to see if Pythium takes out Shinuyama's big army that just invaded.

Zaramis December 19th, 2007 06:52 AM

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

Since I went AI, I think my conceded victory is obvious. I just didn't have the stamina to keep going after I had learnt from my 17th mistake in the game, and lost what I had to put up as resistance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I'm not ready to call it a game just yet.

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

Well, let us add a day to the timer still. I have a large empire to manage.

Re: Last Stand of the Monkeys

( this was my first multiplayer Dominions 3 game, by the way, that lasted past round 20 or so. Was very fun and enjoyable, many thanks to Burnsword for helping me with strategies and assistance as well as Folket for counter and counter-countering on our front. If I had had like twice the gem income I did, I think I could have put up a better fight, but now I had to rely too much on a few few SC's and no army to back them up with, heh. No gems to do anything else )

i'm adding a day to the timer.

Okay, it\'s really over. There will be no encore.

I'm ready to throw over the towel and declare Pythium as the winner. He just busted out of the gates with Tartarians and I have no countermeasures prepared. I'll be rolled over quickly.

Who's with me?

Also, I accidentally played that entire game with no password on my pretender. If you guys want to take a look at my position, feel free to. I had quite a few Tartarians, but I'm sure Pythium would have still wiped the floor with me.

I may well look at your turn. I did not have any password either if you would like to look at my position.

Re: Okay, it\'s really over. There will be no encor

I had no password either, heh http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif But I don't think anyone can look at me? My empire was pretty crappy, I had some real bad luck with astral site findings, so my astral income was soooo small. It hurt alot.

My empire was more or less a bunch of indy researchers that were getting magic up while I tried experimenting with different spells and SCs to combat Folket, heh.

I was going to summon and GoR a bunch of tartarians, but I made a mistake and lost my undead guy who was going to summon them by having him in the army that attacked Folket's own Mass Enslave army ( before I knew how to counter that.. ), so he got him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks, it was a very enjoyable game. I had a good starting position but I think what made me win was that R'leyh went AI. Guess that is kind of a sad way to have a game decided.

I felt okay about my chances to win. I had a /huge/ gem stockpile, and I had defeated Utgard and Midgard, but the wars cost me so much time I was behind. I also had about 25 clams, but unfortunately with R'yleh going AI the other big power that was keeping Pythium in check, there wasn't anything to buy me more time to beef up.

R'lyeh went AI quite early, yeah :/ He stalled two turns and then he was gone, heh.
