Re: Game: Dawn of War

oh hey all, it does seem to have started http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

edit: ugh at starting position ;p

edit: oh Tibbs, can you give your password for eriu to a friend so he can just log in and set it to AI? that way we won't have to wait till the end of each hosting period... And if you log in, anti-cheat will get you i think http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

tibbs October 2nd, 2007 03:16 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Velusion was kind enough to switch eriu to ai.

hey tibbs, wake up http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Just because we are on a 48 hour timer doesn't mean we hafta wait the full 48 every turn!!

archaeolept October 5th, 2007 04:05 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

its always the hope that turns will be quick at the beginning ... but especially w/ large games, there's often someone who has other things come up.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

archaeolept October 5th, 2007 06:52 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

26hrs.. just shinuyama left... tibbs staled last turn didn't he? he had been last and it looked as if the hosting was right when it would have been forced to happen...

jimkehn October 5th, 2007 07:46 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I think you are right about that, Archeolept.

jimkehn October 5th, 2007 07:47 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I swore offa MP games once because of this. People sign up and then won't play their turns. But they are just so damn much more fun to play than against the AI!

Lingchih October 5th, 2007 09:57 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Probably need to set Tibbs to AI unfortunately. He hasn't posted in several days, and has missed the start deadline for Evermore.

Two players on AI since very start... maybe restart?

Not for two players. We'd never get a game started if we restarted every time we got two AI players.

Re: Game: Dawn of War

lol it was only one - tibbs changed his nation choice, so the uploaded pretender was set to AI. If he doesn't get this turn on time, he'll be set to AI as well...

its a big map. 2AI's shouldn't cause too much problem i don't think. just a slow start because of this

Lingchih October 6th, 2007 02:35 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Of course, this all actually depends on Zach reading the posts http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

jimkehn October 6th, 2007 10:03 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

HAHA..and the AI nation has more provinces than any of us!!

archaeolept October 6th, 2007 09:48 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

yah he staled again it looks like. hopefully zach notices...

jimkehn October 6th, 2007 10:25 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Yup....maybe need to be switched to AI. Archaeolept, I agree that two AI nations won't be a problem. Heck...it's not like the AI does nothing. They will play the game, just not as good as most humans

jimkehn October 8th, 2007 09:32 PM

Jeez...finally.

Let's upgrade the server to version 3.10.

jimkehn October 9th, 2007 06:08 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I second that!!!

Zachariah October 9th, 2007 06:44 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

server's updated to 3.10

Zachariah October 9th, 2007 07:00 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

also, i'll turn those two stalers (Marignon and C'Tis) to AI tomorrow if they haven't taken their turns.

Nikolai October 9th, 2007 07:17 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Huh? I have no stalls! I am talking dyplomacy, and want to be done bargaining before sending orders.

archaeolept October 9th, 2007 07:22 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

its shinuyama who has been staling zach, lol http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I got the new patch, but when I tried to connect I got a red screen.

archaeolept October 12th, 2007 11:30 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

no one else seems to have that problem poopalt. reinstall the patch? or uninstall domIII, reinstall, and reinstall the patch.

poopalt October 12th, 2007 03:59 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I tried that, and it still doesn't work. I'm running it on a linux box, if that helps.

archaeolept October 12th, 2007 04:02 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

this is just after applying the patch? maybe its a bug w/ the linux client http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

do you have access to another machine to try it from there?

edit: someone reports a bug w/ debian and 3.10 here

Zachariah October 13th, 2007 07:33 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

the linux server's running the new version, 3.10

carlosib October 14th, 2007 07:14 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Sorry guys, i really dont know how the game is going. I've been out of town since friday and even though i thought i would have acess to a computer to keep playing my turns i didnt http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
This is the only chance i have at a computer and all i can do is tell you that i'm still in the game and coming back tomorrow evening. Then things should get back to normal and i'll keep playing my turns regularly as usual.
Thank you for understanding (and not setting me to AI) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Carlos

Zachariah October 14th, 2007 11:08 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Arg, too late, I AI'd you (carlosib) before I read this posting: you should have told me sooner.

I just AI'd Pythium and Abysia cuz they were going to stale for a 2nd time in a row.

C'tis is still in the game, so hurry up and take your turn!

archaeolept October 14th, 2007 11:32 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

zach, you can go in and redo the turn... and so submit a turn w/out AI'ing him...

at least, until c'tis shows

Zachariah October 15th, 2007 03:40 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

dang, i missed it. I didn't realize it was actually reversible. Well I'll know for next time... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Game: Dawn of War

No problem, i wish i had been able to let you know before. I guess we'll meet i the next game.
Good luck everyone! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Game: Dawn of War

/me kicks atlantis

wake up! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

we actually have a chance at getting a turn in at speed, for once...

Tuidjy October 22nd, 2007 01:19 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Guys, Nick asked me to apologize for his missing his turn. He has had an
emergency, and will be unable to play for a while. I took his last turn, and
he had stalled the previous one. I see that he is heavily engaged in diplomacy,
and I want to tell you that I will hold to any of his promises, but cannot
make new ones.

cupido2 October 22nd, 2007 03:36 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

coobe will be subbing for me (Tien Chi) for the next few turns. Just fyi.

Tuidjy October 23rd, 2007 06:20 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I guess you guys are stuck with me for the time being. The winds have gotten the
best of Nick. And there I was, thinking I was done with Dominions III this year.

So... C'tis is under my guidance, please send messages to me instead of Nick.
I will observe the borders and the peace treaties he told me about, and will
probably not be starting wars.

Aapeli October 23rd, 2007 01:03 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Are you running yet? Might it still be possible to join?

jimkehn October 23rd, 2007 01:46 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Aapeli, we are running and I don't think it is possible to joing a game in progress unless that game is looking for a substitute.

cupido2 October 27th, 2007 03:56 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

lol I think coobe didn't play the turns for me.

Aaahm Mictlan, do you really want to join arms with the evil Ermorian Empire? I will forgive your invasion in my lands if you choose now the order of Tien Chi instead of the chaos of Ermor.

archaeolept October 27th, 2007 05:04 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

hi... pm's are better for this sort of thing... but I have had good dealings with ermor so far, so when you two came into conflict it seemed pretty natural that I support him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I did send you a message giving you one turn's notice... I guess i'm not sure that you ever got that if that was a turn you were being "subbed".

Ubercat October 27th, 2007 09:57 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Jotunheim is being subbed by Sensori until Thursday. He will honor treaties and try to maintain the status quo.

There goes Tien Chi. Unsung. Overrun by barbarians, undeads, bloodworshipers. Good bye, cruel world.

archaeolept November 5th, 2007 03:52 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

blood worshipers? if only... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

gg cupido. better luck next time.

I am taking C'tis nation back. I will obey all treaties made by Tuidjy... and of course, treaties made by me before I left.

I'm looking for a ring of wizardry. I will pay a handsome sum to whoever wants to sell me one.

jimkehn November 12th, 2007 11:11 AM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

Just a reminder in case some of you didn't know. If you are the last player to submit your turn, you can wait a few minutes for the turn to resolve, then log in again to do another turn, essentially giving you two turns in a row.

Lingchih November 12th, 2007 10:27 PM

Re: Game: Dawn of War

I need Wave Breakers. Please PM me if you are interested in making some for me, and what they will cost.

thanks
