Once it has started, you cannot join anymore. Sad but true.

No need to, just type in the name, www.evilzombies.com then the port number. It works with words, as well as numbers.

I suspect you have missed this game thou.

I am sure another will be along shortly.

I dont see Vanheim on the list to upload pretenders is it too late?

You should have been uploading just as you signed up here http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: Game: Bastion of Power (open)

I know you guys are new, but there's a few things you have to learn about Zachariah's games. It's great that he hosts them, and he hosts a lot. We all appreciate it.

But... Zach doesn't troll the forums. Once he posts a game, get your pretender uploaded asap. He's going to start the game up within a few days usually, and generally without a whole lot of notice.

davegg November 7th, 2007 09:10 PM

Re: Game: Bastion of Power (open)

so its too late? If so fine, have a good game

Zachariah November 8th, 2007 12:07 AM

Re: Game: Bastion of Power (open)

sorry guys: i figured everybody was uploading their pretenders as they claimed spots. That's the only way I can really know how many people are in a game. In the future I will make this clear in the initial post.

Zeldor November 10th, 2007 06:39 AM

Re: Game: Bastion of Power (open)

Eh, did it start without me? It is quite bad habit to start recruiting and then just kick off the game without writing anything earlier... I was sure I have plenty time till everyone picks nation then few days for pretenders...

Zaramis November 10th, 2007 12:11 PM

Re: Game: Bastion of Power (open)

Zach's games work with the = When you sign up, you also upload a pretender. They're quick to start and quick to run.

I like the idea that I am not listed here http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Also shouldn't page title be changed to "Running" instead of "Open"?

Re: Players & Nations

Bah, I hate being targetted by early rushers. At least scout your opponent first to make sure if he is sporting any nasty blesses that may wreck your heavily armored Cyclops and troops...

DonCorazon November 29th, 2007 03:45 AM

Re: Players & Nations

Bah, I hate grizzled old veterans who kill my Cyclops with their nasty blessings....

Scouting would not have helped because I am just learning the game. Even if I saw your troops, I didn't know that particular bless was an effective counter to my steaming hot Abysians.

It was a good, if somewhat painful lesson.

Re: Players & Nations

The Son of Grom was obviously a little premature in his desire to be a conqueror like his dad in the Urapara game.

Anyway, Abysian real estate prices are plummeting...

Rytek November 30th, 2007 03:38 PM

Re: Players & Nations

Ahh. Here is a tip. Don't leave your mages next to your Cyclops next time. I saw your mages next to your cyclops the previous fight and then just had my archers target large monsters...I figured I would get some spill over and get your mages with the fire.A bit of luck you had getting the Abyssian hero early. I think he is one of the best, if not the best national hero. He makes a great SC with just a bit of equipment and buffs.

Just to inform ppl that I will be away between 12/4 and 12/15. Trying to sort out subs in the meantime. I think it should be safe to assume that Atlantis is going AI...

Ah. I see. I suppose TC's 300+ strong army camping outside your capital might run you to that conclusion.

Sorry for taking so long, finally back home and doing the turns in more timely now

Re: Players & Nations

So ends the fate of the aggressor. Tien chi is a society of philosiphers. But Abyssia forced us to put down our quills. Grom, prepare to meet thy fate at the hands of our celestial masters. Acid and magma bolts will rain down upon thee. They have brought with them 5 mighty legions of River demons wielding their weapons of death. Their fury shall lead the attack thru the gates of the Abyss where the last Abyssians cower.

Yes, Shard, that was one piece of the puzzle that helped me arrive at my conclusion. The lack of a Pretender and any provinces were also helpful.

Sounds like our end will be quite horrifying. I hope your philosophers brought some flame retardant as the Abysian wise men are busy researching their masterpiece and hope to bring a few Tien Chin bookworms down to the Abyss with them!!!

Holiday timer?

Hey Zach,

Can we put this on a long-timer for Christmas week? I'm out of town 'til Thursday, and it will be tough to find subs I think for Christmas. I'm suggesting maybe 23rd-27th, or something like that.

Thanks

DonCorazon December 18th, 2007 02:12 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

Well, I think our big accomplishment was putting out a river demon's eye.

Thanks for the lesson Rytek.

Goodbye cruel world - the fires of Abysia are out...

Happy holidays!

Thats wierd... isnt Abysia like... dead? Ask Tien Chi

DonCorazon December 19th, 2007 02:20 PM

I thought I was dead. On my 12/17 turn I got message saying I had left the world.

DonCorazon December 20th, 2007 03:50 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

Tried to log into night and check but looks like I am dead. Not sure what you are talking about Tequilich?

Tequilich December 20th, 2007 04:03 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

As of last night/turn the server was messed up and still waiting on you for some reason. This turn however your fires are truly out, no big deal.

Zachariah December 20th, 2007 05:14 PM

Re: Holiday timer?

sorry for my lack of response: For the holidays, I will be putting this game on quickhost, no 48 hour timer, till the end of the new years week (1/4/08), since a lot of folk will be absent, including myself, for some of that time.

Tequilich December 22nd, 2007 12:37 PM

Re: Holiday timer?

I will not be able to do a turn until next friday night. I am going to be out of town and can not find my game CD to copy it onto my labtop. Sorry

Alneyan December 26th, 2007 09:15 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

I cannot take turns until Jan 6, as I'm currently locked up behind a crappy connection (PBEM would work, but not TCP/IP). I'm not sure what you should do about me, but given that I'm not in a strong position and surrounded by neighbors, you might wish to let me stale or set me AI, and encourage all the neighbors to jump on me.

Reverend Zombie December 26th, 2007 11:08 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

I'm amenable to extending the hosting pause till January 6.

Zach's got it in on hold through January 4 now, anyway, so an extension of a couple more days isn't a big deal.

Alneyan December 28th, 2007 08:03 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

Right, I guess it doesn't really matter if the game won't host anyway. I should be able to send in my turn at around 23:00 on Jan 5, or possibly earlier if I can find a hotspot somewhere in downtown London...

Alneyan January 4th, 2008 09:38 PM

Re: Holiday timer?

Okay, I got back and had the pleasant surprise of seeing you weren't actually waiting on me (notice that I got my calendars mixed up, and I got back on the 5th, not on the 6th).

Zachariah January 5th, 2008 06:23 AM

Re: Holiday timer?

ok, i'm back: switching to 48 hour timer again.
