I had 1.8 installed, too. I changed the heroes.tga to another name (eg heroes17.tga) then also opened the heroes1_7.dm file and changed the reference to the tga.

Yikes didn't realize it was on 24 hour turn timer. Was gone from Saturday to Sunday http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Oh well. Shouldn't be crippling

Oh bloody... I forgot to e-mail my turn! Well too bad. Finally the game is on.

Oh by the way lots of messages would be very nice indeed. Just some reports on wars and battles you are having or have had. I wont be very diplomatic this game cause it is the nature of my nation, but if the other side is convincing enough then I shall concider.

Apparently the clocks dont work well underwater - DC3D and myself have been the last to submit the last few turns http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Yeah with my current schedule there is no way I will be able to reliably make 24 hour turns due to traveling. I had thought 48 hrs was the standard time limit (from reading other MP games).

So if you want to find someone to replace me that's fine. I'll continue making turns as often as I can.

Sivoc November 21st, 2007 04:29 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

I would be fine by me if we change the turner to 48 hours

Wokeye November 21st, 2007 05:53 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

ditto 48 hours would be great

llamabeast November 21st, 2007 07:04 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Well I can change it to 48 hours if you want, but I expect at this stage each turn only takes about 5 minutes anyway. Do you really want it changed already?

Wokeye November 21st, 2007 08:06 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

It's not about the turn length, its the issue of getting near a computer each day to do it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Aapeli November 22nd, 2007 10:53 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

I dont know about you others but Im not in a hurry so 48 hours is ok. It would be better if evrybody would get their turns in.

llamabeast November 22nd, 2007 10:57 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Okay, I've switched it to 48 hours. It really isn't worthwhile having people stale because of lack of time, and it seems like several people have been having difficulties with the 24 hour timer. Apologies to those who were fine with the fast pace.

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

I am going to be out of touch for roughly 4-5 days starting on DEC 1. Am I supposed to find a substitute or something for that time?

llamabeast November 29th, 2007 08:33 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Find a substitute if you can, and if you can't PM me and ask me to postpone hosting for a few days. While it's unfortunate it's much better to avoid stale turns.

Btw I'd like to point out to players what I've written on the front page of the llamaserver website - I'm no longer carefully checking all the threads for my games, so if you have a question for me or want me to do something, please PM me.

Finally, I've just remember that there's still no admin for this game. Please can someone volunteer? It's almost no work but would be greatly appreciated.

Wokeye November 29th, 2007 09:36 PM

Didn't Janlm offer to assist with admin in the last page of posts?

I have postponed the game 48 hours so that rlyeh gets a chance to do his turn.

The mighty forges of Ulm are rolling out smoking-hot dwarven hammers for those interested in trade. 25 magic gems other than nature is an acceptable exchange, however the Forge Lords of Ulm will consider other offers through diplomatic channels.

sum1lost December 4th, 2007 02:14 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

For those who will be interested at a later point, Kailasia will be sellling the same in several turns, at a lower price.

Wokeye December 5th, 2007 02:50 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Oceania may be interested in a hammer or two in a few turns time. Pls make them out of rust-proof materials. (playing Pan in my other game LOL)

hmmm, r'lyeh weren't you supposed to have been back from your vacation days ago?

Wokeye December 10th, 2007 08:26 PM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Oceania has produced bottles of beer, thongs (the shoes, not underwear) and seafood platters for the sweltering Christmas season. For those landlubbers freezing in their northern boots, we can heat the beer if you like...but it may go flat and won't taste as good...

As the other underwater nation I do not oppose the change to R'yleh if DC3D cannot play, only ask that you let me know if/when it does occur.

Abysia has sent a wave of mercenaries into the seas, and will pay dearly for the intrusion.

Is it confirmed that Ryleh is now AI?

Sivoc December 14th, 2007 08:09 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

nope, he is not AI yet:
http://www.llamaserver.net/gameinfo.cgi?game=Capuchin

But just wipe him if you can, maybe then we can get some faster turns http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

The frosty giants of Niefelheim have noticed their glaciers melting and the need to turn up our massive ice magic powered air conditioners. Recently we discovered the source of this global warming.

Our advice: put on your parkas Abysia... winter is coming!

What school has the "Restore Ozone Layer" spell?

Firewalker December 16th, 2007 01:40 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Hephestus apparently heard about monkey brains being a delicacy somewhere and so he ordered a hunting party dispatched forthwith to retrieve a gaggle of these talking monkeys to our East to try out. Don't ask me, he's a little strange. The Forge Lords just try to do what he says and stay out from under his hammer.

Firewalker December 16th, 2007 01:44 AM

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

"Restore Ozone Layer" would probably be Alteration, Nature5 Air9. I hope you outfitting your pretender correctly! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

I tried to set Ryleh to ai, but he set a pw. A pw is not necessary for games on the llamaserver. Llamabeast has been notified that ryleh is pw protected.

He is on vacation until tomorrow, so you may want to postpone host 24 hours if you want ryleh on Ai this turn.

Abandoning a game without finding a replacement is really inconsiderate. Not only does it waste everyone's time, it ruins the game's diplomatic landscape since the AI is so damn stupid.

Dang Abysian factories! Global warming is so bad down here in Niefelheim that fire is raining down from the skies.

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Wow, our Steel Warriors were indeed "danced on". It felt kind of like getting mugged by the Solid Gold crew.

This has been somewhat disturbing to the Forge Lords. They shall study the matter. (That is, sulk and scratch their heads for a while.)

Don -- I think in a later age, it will be called artillery!

The Dancers are selling hammers for 20 gems of any flavor

Also, we are buying water gems and pearls on a 1:1 exchange for any kind of gem, as available.

PM us if interested.

Oh, and to the forge lords: If you do not wish to see what happens when we develop the cha-cha, we advise that you back off and cease your attacks. We offer you peace (3 turn NAP) now only. Also, fighting an astral nation with access to earth and water is a bad idea for an mr-poor nation like ulm.

Re: Capuchin - Big newbie EA game - signup

Hey im actually feeling a bit chilly. Maybe I should turn up the heat... but then the north pole would melt and that would only be good to oceania, who by the way rules the seas again after my poor attempt to get to the water. Killed my mercs off with some aboleth thingies or what ever they are. Mind burn is quite a powerful weapon.
