Seconded. There's been enough trouble getting this game off the ground, can't we just play without everyone having to resubmit pretenders again?

Argitoth, I'm sure you'll do just fine! Besides, this way you don't have to type in your poem again.

I've typed it in at least six times. The message system in the game is quite bad...

The poem will only be transmitted when the turn is resolved. So we can read it at the beginning of turn 2... hopefully this year...

Indeed, but I had to retype it everytime I made a mistake in sending each nation their own christmas gift. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/yawn.gif

lets skip bandar's log turn - he will gain more money next turn;)
And maybe he will even save some of his soldier's lifes by sitting in a castle instead of starting a war with indies;)

I must have missed it, I only remembered them being stalled until after the holidays.. which I thought was today. Oh well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

This game should have had a time limit from the beginning so certain people wouldn't join.

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

A lot of people go away for the holidays. Thats not really fair.

The game will get going when the holiday season is over.

Argitoth January 2nd, 2008 03:43 AM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

FAJ, there's no point in starting a game during the holidays if people aren't going to take their turns. I'm not upset or anything, I am just coming to these realizations. I might be starting my own server, too.

Thanks Argitoth for the christmas-present and the poem. Abysia is looking forward for the spiders. We love spiders. Lava-roasted with ketchup. Mjamm.

Well, as we are a patient bunch, we will survive waiting 'til Sunday... and then we go and crush C'tis for not beeing around during those holidays you guys seem to have.

Zaramis January 2nd, 2008 09:32 AM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

I agree about the part where people shouldn't join a holidays game if they can't make the limits. I was looking forward to playing this over the holidays, heh.

But I guess we should have read up on the part where the games weren't going to start until after the holidays http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

While delivering a gift to the Machakan king, the great Ormr of Vanheim was set upon by foul beasties lurking in the woods. Great spiders, they were! The web crawlers were huge, black and hairy, and bloated from feasting on the peoples of the land. Their beady eyes had a glint of malevolent intelligence, and their jaws dripped with foul venom.

Vanheim offers its assistance to Machaka in destroying the infestation of foul monsters that is terrorizing their forests and savannas. Our scouts have already begun to search for the nest-webs, to burn out the eggs before they hatch. Our riders will hunt down and slay the foul beasts that have already hatched!

Soon the eastern lands of Machaka will be free of the creatures, and the good people of the countryside will be at ease. We do this for free, out of the goodness of our hearts, to keep the farms and forests safe for the children and the children's children. And the children's children's children too, can't forget about them!

Nations of the West, you may be hard pressed with your own troubles, as are we all. But, look in your hearts, and find compassion there, compassion to help the poor Machakan peasants! The infestation must be purged, afore the plague of spiders spreads wide.

Argitoth January 21st, 2008 06:08 AM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

I did not know the blue dragon was the great Ormr of Vanheim, I thinked it was a lone dragon trying to take my golds! I WILL NOT HAVE ANYONE TAKE MY GOLDS!... The killing of Ormr was a accident, a accident of crossing paths. But Vanheim shows no mercy for a tiny winy incy mistake.

Pythium and Vanheim are invading my golds and my lands, but I don't fall without fights. Pythium thinks that he can send hydras, but they will fall like flies. Pythium and Vanheim will hear MACHAKACHAKACHAKA!!! And then they will not be alive.

You thinks to yourself that I, the wooden one, will lose because of your brutes forces. I am smart and will destroy anything you send to take my golds!

The great nation of Ulm, please have mercy on my nations and machaka spiders!

jimkehn January 21st, 2008 11:09 AM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

Gold?? The Lord Argitoth, King of Machaka, thinks Pythium needs her gold?? All confiscated gold will be donated to the Girl Scouts of Pythium Club. This is really about saving the children. Consider it a.....uh....membership drive to fatten the rolls in the Girls and Boys Scouts clubs. Merely a fund raising event for the betterment of our disadvantaged children.

The glorious and peaceful nation of Ermor has been brutally attacked by the forces of Shinuyama. Fortunately, the forces of our God Mortagua mercilessly slaughterd the attacking forces of Shinuyama. We shall continue to annihilate the armies of Shinuyama, but we are a peaceful nation, and intend no harm on anyone else.

Now Arcosephale has the largest land&income... I don't think they'll need help http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Lingchih January 27th, 2008 11:24 PM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

Ahh, Marignon. So Holier than Thou, aren't we? You seek to cleanse the world of our evil, when your own people are a corrupt bunch of liars and thieves. I had hoped we could dispense with this little war and get on with our lives. But you want to push it.

All right, time to push back.

And Shinuyama, what's up with that pathetic little Pretender of yours. Seems he gets killed in every battle. Being immortal, I guess that doesn't matter too much to him, but really, don't you think he should just stay home and research or something. He's going to get afflicted at this rate.

Slobby January 28th, 2008 12:36 AM

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

The children of Shinuyama sang Khan's praises when news of the sacking of Ionia arrived! Tales of how he single handedly stood up to your vile and wicked Vestals, allowing for the humble shinuyaman priests to banish your undead hordes back to their graves, spread throughout the land. Truly it was a monumental event! Even more so, with Khan rising up from the grave in all his splendor, ready once again to face your loathsome people in combat once more!

Khan has nothing to fear from afflictions, for he truly is a god! You may pluck out his eyes, in time they will spring forth anew from his skull! You may dismember him, but new limbs will sprout from his bloodied stumps! You may render him incapable of speech, yet a pink fleshy toungue will fill the void in his mouth! You may even strike him down, but it is he who will rise again! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Vanheim works hard to assist Machaka in purging his lands of the foul creatures. They are hard beasts to catch!

Perhaps when the lands are free of the spider terror, Machaka will be able to send some of his spear-bearers to visit other lands. Make sure your customs and quarantine procedures are diligent, though, for all it takes is one little egg, and ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif ... spiders everywhere!

Patched to 3.14 and now the turn won't download. It shows it is downloading, and as soon as it appears it is finished, it starts all over again. Gets caught in this endless loop. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif

Oh, I think it is way too early to talk about a win. Most of the nations have not even met yet. Unfortunately, I have met three that want to grind me to dust. But I am certainly not giving up.

Re: Game: Testament of Blood (open)

I got in, ended my turn and I couldn't reconnect to the server. Maybe the server is down? I already ended my turn and if my new orders aren't submitted I will lose without a fight. Why? Because my lab burned down at my home province a single turn before I could be ready to fight. For some reason my order of "build lab" was not included when I logged in just now. That "Build Lab" command is the only thing that will give me a fighting chance. Even if I lose the game, I don't want to lose without a fight. The entire game would be a waste of time otherwise.
