Re: Game started
Check your spam folder please. Hotmail is known to block the turn notifications as spam. Whitelist the sending address or whatever is needed to stop it from doing so, and tell the others how you did it - there are some other Hotmail users.
|
Re: Game started
Hum, if this was the problem, I think that I wouldn't have received the mails about Rhoscrowther... and I did receive the mails about "primea has started". Furthermore my spam folder is empty.
I'll force a "whilelist" anyway to see if it helps. As for how to do that : - start msn. - open your webmail screen. - click on the "option" button on the top right. - There is a list of options, the one you want should sound like "senders blocked and authorized" in the spam category. - click on somthing that sounds like "authorized sender" - enter the mail adress Ich gave you in the list. And it's done. The name will probably be quite different from the ones I gave since my the version of hotmail I use is "hotmail classic" (I don't have the "live" account) and in French. Therefore the "sounds like". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Re: Game started
Thanks for the answers.
I can make my turns with no rush now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I don't have any problems concerning the email, but i use Evolution, which class any mail from you in a "dom3primea" folder. |

Arco Woes...
The Astrologer sighed...after several months without any indications of misfortune he had joined the army to help eradicate an Undead infestation. It was while he was gone that the Hurricane struck.
Now came the reports of the arrival of some hideous Sea Beast off the Arco coast. While sure that the local militia would soon see it off, he was beginning to think that he would need to go back to the Lab soon and recheck the stars. All needed to be well for the Awakening of his Goddess, but so far his tenure as Prophet was off to a very shaky start. He reread the report from the capital: "...yesterday, devouring several fisherman. It is Hideous and the Smell alone has caused the locals to abandon the waterfront. We have called out the Militia since we are very sure that it is not house broken..." |
Re: Arco Woes...
Well... the mail for turn four arrived. It might have been a problem from hotmail then.

Re: Arco Woes...
"This was the start of another boring day for Rhea. Since the rise of the king of plants and trees, she had been assigned to do some boring research. Soon other of her kind joined, but it didn't make it any easier. Interesting results came every few month, but nothing as great as the ancient tales.
No wars either, except news from afar, about the mighty Machaon and his war against barbarians and more barbarians. The territory they held didn't even have any value, it was just senseless massacre. They were just at the bad place at the bad time. Too bad for them. Rhea felt a bit sorry for them, but after all, the taste of the lord for women was well known throughout the lands, even if the half crazed women looked more attracted to him than he was to them. But that day, that very boring day, everything changed. Rhea was called at the royal court. A magnificent place, the falling leaves of autumn giving it a golden beauty, unmatched in that part of the lands. The gossip of the royal court, the fearful face of the of the royal court women, and the crazy look in the centaur's eyes could only mean that something grave had happened. Upon arrival, she was told the truth. She was to deliver a message to some barbarian in the North. Except those were not only barbarian, they pretended that there was another God ! Against her heart, she did as she was bidden, went to speak to the representative of this force that numbered hundreds and called itself Vanheim. - We have no desire for war. Yet you trespass dangerously near to our lands. Should you not decide to move away, we will retaliate. Trydmire and Farseer mountains will be ours. Leave peacefully or face the consequences. As she came back, tears flowed to Rhea's eyes. She didn't want war. But there was only one God. And around them, centaurs and minotaurs were getting ready to use the only way they knew to ensure that the King of plants and trees would be the only one left. Now, she could only hope that other ways would prevail." |
The Marignon-Eriu War
The events described hereon are from the third, fourth, and fifth months of the pretender wars. As we are currently in a state of conflict, discussing the present state of affairs in such a way that enemy spies may read it would be imprudent.
Father Alverne was returning to Marignon City from campaign on the northern marches when the report came in. Originally a mere friar in the Holy Church, he took no small amount of pride in the fact that he was personally chosen by Flonne -- the Pillar that is Purity, &c., &c., Love Freak and Angel Trainee -- to lead the army and to serve as her personal prophet. "The fir bolgs, sir! They are marching into Duvan!" the messenger announced. A month prior, scouts on the Duvanian frontier had reported the fir bolg army camped on the plains of Jerib. Alverne had done nothing about it -- he had lost many troops securing Duvan and had to return to Marignon for reinforcements. Besides, he knew that Flonne, the Pillar that is Purity, &c., &c., Love Freak and Angel Trainee would never approve of wanton aggression, even though the fir bolgs, as the rumours had it, worshipped some foul death god. But now the fir bolgs were approaching Marignon itself. Would they attempt siege of the great city? Continue their pillage of the northern provinces? Neither were acceptable, Alverne knew. He would have to attempt an attack. Alverne looked sorrowfully over the army. It was a fine army in many ways. Dozens of crossbowmen, and even two knights of the royal guard. But the front line? Four pikes. "It'll have to do," thought Alverne. "It didn't," Alverne murmured to himself days later as he laid dying on the fields of Duvan. "God save us all." And as he drew his last breath, his prayer was answered. Before the walls of Marignon City approached thirty soldiers, led by a mercenary hero brandishing a sword aglow with enchanted fire. "I am Dante, sirs," the leader shouted to the gates, "and should you will it we shall serve you." |
Re: The Marignon-Eriu War
Work are sending me off to Germany today until Saturday.
I have Dom3 on my PC so I hope I will be able to carry on making my turns. Hopefully I should be able to log in over the network, but I won't know until I try. I will also be able to comunicate with people - but only by pm via this site. I will only have a couple of short windows to play the game each day. Sorry for the inconvenience! |
Re: The Marignon-Eriu War
"A few month later, Rhea found herself relaxing in her home. Home ! Strange word for such a place, yet it had no other name. She had most of what she wanted now : relative peace, an interesting job (for a little more time, she was told).
The events of last months had been hectic at best, but somehow, it worked out fine. The strange men from the Vanheim nation left as she was moving in. And that province really was a treasure to behold : magnificent pines and trees and mountains that rivalled in beauty the forest where she was born. As soon as she arrived, she was contacted by the local shamans... and they were waiting for her arrival. She took upon herself to start building a temple and a lab, only to have the order come a few days later. A few month later, the locals even build a fortress in her honor. Truly, this was a magnificent place, blessed by ancient gods..." |
Re: The Marignon-Eriu War
Cyy Coth, king of atlantis was awakened by a knock on his shell.
- Yarr wazzups? He murmured irritably, for he had enjoyed a most pleasant dream about a young atlantess. - Eze mass! The servant cried. - Aizz tel ya dem trollkin aahtsid, wasal ee dhoo? Trolls outside? Cyy Coth flung the shell open and quickly swam along the corals to the rim of the great dome. Yes, indeed. The water was full of sea trolls swarming around hacking at the corals, breaking way fast. This was indeed gruesome as only the kings and their personal servants resided in Atlantis ever since the crusade began, and all troops were gone ashore to secure HER will. - Garter upz em Kingies naaz eejit! He shouted at his servant, who swam off to wake the other kings. Cyy Coth sighed heavily, summoning a horde of green bubbles. As much as he hated it, he knew they would have to call HER home to squish the trollkin. Sure he knew she was the mother, Jolkuna, god of the infinite deeps and his love and faith was as great as anyones but still, he prefered when she was far away. A troll broke a hole in the coral next to him and stuck its head in. Cyy sighed again and waved his hand at it. - Sheesh bagger ahwf dampazz! The trolls head silently imploded and drifted away like a red cloud. |
Re: The Marignon-Eriu War
BTW I really enjoy your stories! It adds a lot of feeling, keep it up.

The Plight of Arcoscephale
Although some breathing room had been gained, reports of a terrible menace were coming in from the east. Slimy Subterranean Slugs were being worshipped by humans who had, indeed, fallen far from their former friends.
And fortune favored the fiends! A Fortress was freely constructed by a local fool to curry favor. While the Brethren of Brenflusse, Bountiful Goddess of Rivers, continued to find fortune to be extremely fickle. So, to WAR! Death to the SSSlugs! |
At the investment of Eriu Citadel
There were murmurs among the army, Witch Hunter Otun knew. Since Captain Dante had joined, he had led the army of Marignon from victory to victory, and now the troops were camped around the walls of Eriu itself. This should be a time of celebration. But instead the camp wallowed in melancholy.
It was because of Flonne, of course. Otun watched the angel walk slowly through the camp, followed closely by High Inquisitor Malbien. Malbien was clearly trying to strike up a conversation with Flonne, cheer her up, anything, but for naught. Flonne continued walking, not so much as even acknowledging Malbien's presence. She had been like this ever since the battle of Eriu province. Otun knew not what happened on that day, but ever since Flonne had not said a thing. "Nobody knows," said one of the soldiers when Otun went asking around, "but I've heard rumours." The only things that spread through an army faster than dysentery are rumours and gossip, of course, and Otun had heard them all. The most popular opinion was that the sidhe or the other followers of Eriu's monstrous god had placed an affliction on her. Otun found it plausible, but he was more drawn towards a second explanation. Marignon's greatest losses in that battle had been the cavalry posted on the right flank. After the enemy troops had fled the battlefield, Otun had examined the corpses of the fallen, and found each of them charred as if they were struck by lightning. Otun had witnessed Eriu witches calling forth lightning before, but nothing that could kill so many so quickly. Nevertheless, he thought nothing of it until a week later one of the crossbowmen mentioned that he had seen Flonne, a renowned air mage, fly into the fray on that fateful day... on the right flank. (Aside: So, yeah, my pretender is now Mute. Aaargh! So much for forging air boosters.) |
Re: At the investment of Eriu Citadel
You jerks in your free fortresses...in ULM we do it the old-fashioned way, paying a huge amount of gold and waiting for several turns! We also walk to school uphill, both ways, in the snow, wearing Black Plate,in Drain-3, because that's the way we Ulmsman roll.
Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that fine Ulmish forging will be available to trade with our friends and allies in a few turns. Watch this thread for details. |
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Unfortunately my computer at home appears to be dead.
It's a shame because I'm at an interesting position in this game and would like to continue. I can see if I can find a sub or you can just turn me to AI if you prefer, since it will probably be like 4 days at the minimum before I'll be able to play again. |
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
A sub would be much preferred, letīs try to find one.
|
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Well, i can wait a few days, no problem for me. I hope that if i'll have a real life issue, the others will wait too http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I talk for Hoplosternum, who probably find a way to send his turn ( four days, it's just one or two turn if we wait to the maximum time allowed ). And for fungalreason, can't you find a computer ? An old one, a friend or something. Dominion desn't need a big one. Also, i enjoy your story too, it's create a good ambiance http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Unfortunately I lost my Dom3 CD, so I'm having to order a new copy of the game too http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
Also my hard drive in my current computer (the broken one) is SATA so I can't connect it to my old machine. |
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Shigure,
My "witch" is sorry for allegedly silencing Flonne. It is interesting to read your take on our little war. I think you give me too much credit http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif It was fun playing the game everyone, I think I may be the first to get bumped. The "witch" accused of silencing Flonne is actually Scathach, Trainer of Heroes. She heard Eriu's call and left her busy life of training young heroes in the art of war and lovemaking on her hidden isle of dread mists. She has prophetic powers and has divined the eventual demise of her every student. She wears a raven cloak which allows her to fly. (pretty cool heroine I think with added bonus of her spear causing decay) Eriu/Baldr |
Pause for Agartha
I am most willing to wait for fungalreason to sort out his computer issues. Or to designate a sub...either is ok by me.
|
Re: Pause for Agartha
I'd prefer to wait for fungalreason to get his computer fixed; 4-5 days is only a couple of turns anyway.
Also, I see Vanheim hasn't taken his turn yet--does anyone know what the deal with him is? |
Re: Pause for Agartha
Well Vanheim is Hoplosternum, and he said he'll be in germany until saturday, with limited access to the game...
I'm ok too with waiting a few days. |
Re: Pause for Agartha
Hi,
I thought I would be able to play as I have the game on my work PC. But I can't connect so I won't be able to play my turn. Sorry if I am causing a delay. Vanheim |
Re: Pause for Agartha
Hi, I have to leave town for a few days urgently. Iīll be back sunday morning at 11:30. I think Iīll survive staling.
|
Re: Pause for Agartha
Well, with so many players having problems to connect to the game, I'll turn off the game timer until Saturday. After then, I will turn the timer on again, and I will let you stale.
|
Re: Pause for Agartha
Thanks!
|
Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Alright, I'm back in action. Thanks for waiting everyone, and I do apologize for the hold up.

Re: Primea, newbie MA game (started)
Everything in order with everyone? I got the "Primea has hosted" message, so it at least looks that way.

The War Intensifies
Just as the stars had predicted, a great victory was won over the evil Agarthans and their Phoenix Pretender. Although the Phoenix escaped, not much else did.
As the army recuperated, the Prophet reviewed the new reports with a mixture of dread and resignation...an Agarthan army over twice the size of the one just annihilated was moving in. And behind the Agarthans were the numberless hordes of the Ermorians. The SSSlugs and the Empire must have a truce, but how long would it last if the Agarthan army suffered a few more defeats? But whether it was the Agarthans or Ermorians, the prospect of peace any time soon was just not in the stars. |
Re: The War Intensifies
The Sea kings gathered in the great shell, in the hall of focus. Because focus they would need to talk to HER.
It fell upon Cyy to lead the communion, him being the oldest as well as blessed by HER will. Prophet. Prophet?, he sure hadnīt asked to be a bloody prophet. His holiness was not a volountary one, but he had been called. And however much he hated it there was no refusing HER will. They began, blowing pinkish bubbles to each other to seal the comminion and soon Cyys mind was filled with the sweet psychedelic clarity of being the focus of power. Med huffed and reached out, there was no need to find her, he always knew where SHE was. As always, HER mind overwhelmed and swallowed him. He was drifting inside her divine feelings. And right now these were rage and the joy of slaughter. SHE was in battle, swarmed with tritons who fell like harvested corn before her, through pain and death submissed into HER dominion. SHE was unwilling to return, and saw little cause to save such pathetic servants incapable of defending their own capital. Cyy pleaded. Cried his love. Begged. But in the end it was the opportunity to have sea trolls for dinner that changed the tables. Fatigued from the effort, Cyy fell unconcious. When Cyy awoke everything was black from HER ink, the city swallowed by darkness. Sea trolls cried out their pain in the distance. - Up yerr azzes, bittzches! He mumbled and went back to sleep. |

Re: Server back
The Forges of Ulm (TM) are getting ready to fire up.
Dwarf Hammers (provides forge bonus) available in very limited quantities; they have a base cost of 15 Earth Gems, but we have plenty of Earth Gems and would be willing to trade one for a comparable number of some other type of gems (we are mainly interested in fire and air gems); we might also consider a cash offer (for a limited time only...because, unlike some countries, Ulsman have to build their castles themslves). There's also a few magical items we're interested in ourselves; if you have at least Construction-2, contact me for a more comprehensive list. Stipulations: 1. We will only trade with countries we have an NAP with. The NAP must be guaranteed a minimum of ten turns, after which either side can leave with a 3-turn warning. 2. Since quantities are somewhat limited at this time, we will apply a rule of "first come, first served"; you will be made aware of the appx turn no we will send you a hammer during the negotiation. Under certain circumstances, however, we would be willing to negotiate expedited service. 3. Payment will be made the turn before delivery. Ulm...forging a better tomorrow! (TM) |
Grom Brave Breaker Commands 2 Men
...and demands 90 gold.
I have to admit, I'm sorta tempted; at 45 gold/person, one would think that they'd have to be pretty awesome. |
Patch the next?
Since the next patch will involve upgraded MA Ulm, how are we going to handle it? Restart? OK by Arco since I'm between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif
|
Re: Patch the next?
the game goes on and ulm will just have more options to play with
|
Re: Patch the next?
It is too late to restart now. I beleive that Ulm will just adapt to the changes.
|
Re: Patch the next?
Everybody gang up on Ulm! Oh, sure, they might be all "NAP with us! We'll trade you stuff!" now, but the moment the patch is released, they'll be out for lebensraum! Beware!
In other news, the troops of Marignon have now occupied Eriu, bringing an end to the worship of the false god Styx. A preliminary Inquisition report questions whether Styx actually existed, and suggests he was no more than a myth the sidhe created as a way to control their Milesian underlings. Thus the Marignon-Eriu war comes to a close. In honour of the fallen on both sides, we have built a triumphal arch at the entrance to Eriu -- the magnificent Baldr's Gate. (Just kidding, Ulm, just kidding! By the way, I'd like to buy a hammer from you. Oh, and some earth boots at some point. Can pay in fire gems.) |
Re: Patch the next?
On the subject of trading, I'd like to announce that at this time The Forges of Ulm (TM) are particularly interested in acquiring air gems, and would value them higher than other types of gems in trades. We'd also be willing to trade Earth, Water, or Death gems 1:1 for them.
And, of course, I think we should patch. Because of, uh, bug fixes. And the additions to LA Abysia. |
Re: Patch the next?
"The order came.
Rhea was doing well in her new home. However, some disturbing news came for the people of Pangaea. Contact had been achieved with a significant number of other nations now. And some of them were more dangerous than all others. Diplomatic efforts were done to subdue the menace, but inaction seemed to be the only answer diplomats could get. There could only be one answer to such a menace. Hundreds of centaurs got ready. More and more maenads left their home to join the Pangaea army. Some flagellants even decided to offer their services to the great nation of Pangaea. The order came, and the order was to be obeyed : If other nations couldn't act, then Pangaea would lead them into action." A message from the lord of the wild, pretender of Pangaea : "Pangaea therefore declare war against the nation of Ermor." |
End of Arco
Lost, all lost. The plan was sound, but it did not take into account 'Flaming Arrows'. Even though the Argathan losses were almost 2:1, the loss of the flower of the Arco Heart Companion along with the virtual elimination of the Elephant Corps has dealt a mortal blow to our dreams.
And the Lady Brenfluss thought she was stronger than she actually was and went adventuring...the call to return our God will be a long and piteous one. With the advent of War between Pangaea and Ermor, the Evil Agarthans and their 'Flaming Arrow' corps will, we believe, triumph over all in the end. |
Re: End of Arco
Don't take it too bad, Arco, I think I'd be pretty shocked if Agartha whipped out flaming arrows on me. Between the total lack of national archers and no easy access to high path fire, I have to give the Agarthans some credit for putting it together. I can only guess they got the right indy provinces for it.

New Products
The Forges of Ulm (TM) is pleased to announce that now have additional items available for sale, including Earth Boots and Fire Brands.
Also, for a limited time only, we're very interested in acquiring supply items and will give a good deal on them. |

Ok, the patch is out. Do we patch before next turn?
