There is war happening?!!? I am so shocked!!! Why can't we all just get along?

Oh yeah, right...

I will be out of contact over the weekend. If a turn does not run tonight (14 Mar), I will put in an extension. If it does run, I'll get in a quickie turn and extend until sometime Sunday evening (I'm in US Eastern time zone). The delay should be minimal.

Remember that if anyone else needs an extension, please post it here and either Llama or I will ensure it is taken care of.

Re: FunnelEaredBat - Victory Conditions?

I just sent a PM to you actually Peacekeeper - I think unfortunately you misread LordCalvert's statement - he didn't say he would necessarily delay or anything, just basically that he might have to postpone in order to get his own turn in, but hoped not to. Also he said he would be out of contact over the weekend, so it's not surprising he hasn't replied to you. The staling is unfortunate though.

Hopefully you guys are awake now...

Yahoo seems to be having technical difficulties and I can not access my email to get at my turn.

Any way I can get a slight extension on this turn?

Friendly poke to this game's admin. You should let us know if you are awake !

I supposed to be lucky... so why does a giant hydra invade my lands ?!? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif However, we would like to tell our friendly neighbours that this province is still considered ours despite it being occupied by some indy pretender.

Apparently, not everyone understands what a NAP for 3 turns means. It means that you must send a message 3 turns BEFORE canceling the agreement, and attacking, that the NAP is terminated.

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Hum sorry about your elephants elbnar !

Be assured that it was not meant as a offensive gesture toward you, we just reclaimed our lands.

i believe a 3 turn NAP means that neither will take aggresive actions for 3 turns.

Some NAPs are specifically set to last until one side feels the need to break it and then they give the other person a agreed upon set of turns warning beforehand.

If you made teh first kind of NAP, it sounds like he was in the right. If you made the second, then he would have indeed broken the NAP in a dishonorable way.

i dunno, i sent him a PM asking but havnt gotten a response.

im not sure which side is messed up on what NAPs are either.

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

LordCalvert (Marignon) did... since he hasn't responded to my PM, I am guessing he did it on purpose.

So, I declare that all of my efforts will be to eradicate him. I will not attack anyone else until he is gone... so, for those who border him, feel free to join in. He should be pre-occupied with me and will not have enough to handle more attacks.

kasnavada March 21st, 2008 06:41 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

There is not much communication here anyway. I haven't gotten a response from Bandar Log either. I thought that killing 500 gold worth of their troops would at least make them speak (and by mistake, joint assault on a independant province).

Since I also border Marignon, I could join you, but I don't really have a good reason to. PM me with a proposal ?

Profanicus March 21st, 2008 10:56 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Bandar Log now seems to be AI controlled ... that probably explains the lack of response! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

i noticed it a couple turns ago when he attacked me outta nowhere.

Ah I see you have done a quite good counter-attack already, and gotten near my position.

Another joint assault, but I'm sorry about your lizards.

sorry, real life intervened in a most unfortunate way. I had to give it up to the computer

Besides skipped turns (of which i had a couple), nothing hurts more than losing your first battle against independents http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif stupid monkey archers fail against heavy cavalry

My SC performed bravely against his elephant rush but well... it wasn't enough http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Martial Doctor are you still having your turns?

Peacekeeper March 23rd, 2008 06:32 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Id like to request the game go to 1 turn every 48 hours. I have some stuff comin up in RL and these turns are starting to take longer to consider.

MartialDoctor March 24th, 2008 02:34 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Yeah, I missed a few turns but I am still playing... It is tough to play a turn a day, despite the fact that the turns don't take that long to do.

Since I am already out of this game, it doesn't matter much. But I probably won't be joining anymore in the near future.

MartialDoctor March 24th, 2008 09:01 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Good luck to all! I put my player to AI as I'm out.

Profanicus March 26th, 2008 09:16 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Yeah Peacekeeper, I reckon no-one has replied to you because they don't really want to move to 48 hour turns, but don't know how to break it to you http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Personally 24 hours is plenty for me, but I could cope with 48 being the upper limit if you really need it - as long as you don't take 48 hours for every turn! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

kasnavada March 26th, 2008 10:01 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

I did not answer because I do not care, actually, whether it goes to 48 or stay at 24. And I do not have any power over it anyway, since I'm not the admin.

So, if you want to change, do as you wish ! If it is better for you, it means you will play better, and that the game becomes more interesting for all of us. That's all !

Congrats on that first battle Arcos !

I did managed to get what I was most worried about (your elephants) but your magic effectively paralysed mine, and I counted on it to beat up your regular troops.

That was my first ever big mp battle. Was an interesting experience. A few change I'll be making for the next one.

Actually, my fourth big battle, but I will make adjustments too... same time same place in 2 game month ?

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

News from the front : an easy victory for me, but I outnumbered Arcos armies 5.5 to one.

Arcos : I'm sincerely impressed at the strength your golem had, and hope you don't have a squad of golem brothers ready... And your troops did take more than one of mine for every single of them. I hope I don't have a fight with even numbers against you anytime soon...

SiyfkA April 1st, 2008 06:44 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

My main force was crushing ctis to the north. It's a shame the golem didn't stick to its script, it kept casting stellar cascades and fatigued itself to an early grave. Ah well. Best out of 3?

kasnavada April 1st, 2008 06:55 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Sure.

Actually. I wouldn't count that as a real victory for me though. I was outnumbering you badly. And I had pretty bad scripting on my part too, I mean, did you notice the archers going for the back ? That certainly was not intended... I'm lucky that centaur archers have a pretty good melee ability.

SiyfkA April 2nd, 2008 08:46 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Yes I thought that was intended though. Those guys are fast and they went straight for my mages.

kasnavada April 2nd, 2008 09:04 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Well I wanted to script the other centaurs to do that... I must have mixed up the orders somewhat. Something else, why didn't your guys move ? I though they would have either retreated to defend inland or to bait me in, or move forward by outmaneuvering my army, and try to regroup with your other group that's invading the swamps near the former bandar log lands. I mean, you must have seen that I outnumbered you, no ?

SiyfkA April 3rd, 2008 04:37 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

They were supposed to move, but I played my turn a second time and clicked redo from start. Then I guess I just forgot to do that move again.

Yes, yes, I'm here. Sorry I've been asleep. Been distracted by small shiny objects and mundane life.

I had some issues with the game admin password that have now been resolved. Llama forgot to set the admin password.

kasnavada April 6th, 2008 02:32 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

News from the front : a recent surge in mind-hunting phenomena lead to believe that powerful astral mages must be eradicated. Pangaea asks the world to join in its quest ! Pangaea will now start its counter attack, anc conquer again the swamps north of its territory ! Or try to at least.

I love Pangaea's high MR... out of 8 mind hunt, only 2 of my mage died.

PS : didn't ctis stall twice ? If he's not playing anymore, he should let us know, be put to AI or something...

LordCalvert April 6th, 2008 12:58 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Yes! The great nation of Marignon should certainly join in the hunt against powerful astral mages...

Oh wait... :-)

kasnavada April 6th, 2008 02:05 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Hehe...

Yes of course. Actually, it was meant as a joke, since I'm more or less the only nation without astral mages left in this game. This thread is too quiet ! It needs more joy !

Wookie1977 April 7th, 2008 08:46 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Has anyone heard from Ctis????

Profanicus April 7th, 2008 06:16 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Abysia stormed the gates of one of the many north-western Arco strongholds and was repelled, their powerful magicians laying waste to hordes of our bretheren.
We gathered our forces to defend against the coming pursuit, and were successful in routing the enemy from the field ... all save 1 lone Golem. He radiated power. In a fit of rage he cleaved through our brave warriors, a fearsome sight to behold as the bodies piled around his mighty feet ... lands momentarily ours lay ravaged by the fires of pestilence and war.

Wookie1977 April 8th, 2008 09:24 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

If Ctis has left the game maybe we should change him to AI ??

LordCalvert April 8th, 2008 08:22 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

That cannot be my decision. I would have a very serious conflict of interest considering the length of the border between C'tis and myself if I arbitrarily changed the settings like that. If he has indeed abandoned the game then Llama has to do the adjustments.

llamabeast April 9th, 2008 11:09 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

C'tis has staled 4 consecutive turns. Is he in a reasonably strong position? If it would be a fun position to play, we should advertise for a sub. If not, I will set him to AI. Let me know if you'd like me to do that (by PM).

kasnavada April 9th, 2008 02:45 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

He's pretty much dead, as far as I know, and the graphs agree too. He might revive given that he stalled for 4 turns, and accumulated money.

llamabeast April 9th, 2008 03:08 PM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

I took a look. C'tis isn't in a bad spot really - in some ways he's pretty powerful - except that he's got no army and is apparently in imminent danger of invasion. I've posted an advert for a sub.

zenphos April 11th, 2008 12:07 AM

Re: FunnelEaredBat - MA game for new players

Just thought I would let people know I have taken over C'tis.
Currently play 2 games, turn 22 and turn 14 is my skill level.
Not sure what is going on in regards to deals or who I am at war with but C'tis is still pretty strong. Just needs about 3 turns to rebuild his armies.
Of course whether I get them is another matter.
