Oh guys. It looks like I have to go to Izrael tomorrow for , and I'm just learned my internet will be limited by email.
Probably have to give-up this game, will stay only on Llamabeasts' email-based server games.

Or -is it possible if I will sent 2h turns?

and recieve trn files?

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Sorry man, I'm not gonna run this by email, it would drive me nuts. That's why I set up the server so everything's automated....

Game starts in about 6 hours time. There is one available spot. Evilhomer has taken Ulm, and I believe chrispederson plans to switch from R'lyeh to Bogarus before we start.

Xavier March 8th, 2008 05:54 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Server has started

Foodstamp March 9th, 2008 05:34 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

People are already racking up the stales in this game, and we are only on turn two.

Xavier March 9th, 2008 07:23 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

I'll PM the two players who missed turn 1 and see what's up.

I stalled because I wasn't aware that the server had started [img]/threads/images/Graemlins/Cold.gif[/img]

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Seems like TC, will stal this turn ....

Xavier March 10th, 2008 03:11 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

yeah, I PM'd the guy after he stalled turn 1, and emailed his gmail account a few hours ago. hopefully he shows up soon....

Xavier March 11th, 2008 12:29 AM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

If I don't hear from TC before the next turn hosts (and he stalls a third time) I'll begin force hosting as soon as he's the last player left. Unfortunately I didn't enable master pass....

He'll be a nice little boost to whoever finds him first. 5 gems/turn and a free fort+lab, plus the high income....

chrispedersen March 11th, 2008 10:05 AM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

why not just stale it and be done with it? He's the only one (again) that didn't submit...

Xavier March 11th, 2008 01:03 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Midgard hasn't submitted, with 5 hours left to host.

I'll give TC this last chance. He's on US time so there's reasonable odds he'll show up at the last minute. If not, he's done.

Xavier March 11th, 2008 06:13 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Ok, if TC is the last left to play I'll force host.

Midgard has stalled twice now and will receive the same treatment if it stalls this turn.

Evilhomer March 12th, 2008 08:10 AM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Just waiting on TC, feel free to force host (this will be annoying until TC is dead)

Xavier March 12th, 2008 01:06 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Yeah, I just did. I just woke up or I'dve done it sooner.

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Whats going on, with the turns.. I go to sleep its.. 19 hours till host.. I wake up go to work.. its 20 hours till host.. and it says I've still good to go...
(aka, have a turn submitted)

chris

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Umm...I dunno? Maybe check your turn?

I forced host at ~12pm EST today as the only player not to have submitted a turn was TC. After that I played my turn, and when I was done all players were showing as not having submitted (except me). I checked back about 4 hours later, and it showed only 3 or 4 players as not having submitted. You were one of them, so I'm fairly certain you submitted a new turn. So the change in host times is because I forced host while you were asleep, so it's on a new 24-hour timer.

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

I'm having spotty internet connectivity today, for reasons not worth explaining.

The server will be up and accessible, but if you have trouble connecting just try again in like 2 minutes. Basically I'm having frequent but very brief disconnections from the internet, thanks to the astounding quality of consumer-grade wireless routers.

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

I am flying to Stuart today, returning Sunday.
May I request that no turns be processed Saturday? Resuming normally Sunday noonish?

Xavier March 14th, 2008 06:03 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

I see you're online now, so I'm assuming you'll play a turn. If the server hosts tonight I'll switch to a 48 hour host for one day (so it'd host again Sunday night unless we quickhost), and if we host tommorow morning I'll switch to a 36 hour host for one day (so it'd host again Sunday night).

Sound good?

chrispedersen March 14th, 2008 07:00 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Perfect with thanks.

Evilhomer March 15th, 2008 01:50 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Game seems to have changed to a 3 hour quickhost

Xavier March 15th, 2008 02:03 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

don't worry about it - i just did that to give arco an extra 90 minutes to put a turn in, since this turn is being delayed for chrispederson anyway.

it's now on a 34 hour host (next host ~11pm EST Sunday), after which it will return to a 24 hour quickhost schedule until turn 20.

chrispedersen March 20th, 2008 12:08 PM

Hey guys.. Travelling to Merritt Island Friday, for easter.
After Fridays turn, can we delay untill midnight Easter Sunday (EST). I'm guessing a bunch of people probably travelling.....

btw, just so that you know. I'm playing Ulm now. All treaties are in effect.

Xavier March 28th, 2008 05:27 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

We just hit turn 20, so we've switched a 36h hosting schedule, as per the first post.

So we gonna wait 12 more hours for Tien Chi...

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

No, we're waiting on Abysia. I'd love to host it but if I were playing Abysia I'd be pretty peeved about that, so I'm not going to.

As before, I'll be checking the server frequently and forcing host if TC is the only player left to play. If someone would just finish him off we haven't this problem anymore :p How does it take 11 players 20 turns to find and eliminate a nation that hasn't played a single turn?? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

if we have to wait 17 more hours for pythium i'm gonna be annoyed... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif His was the last turn to be taken with 25 hours to host, too....

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

My Apologies.

I was sure I played my last turn. I surely forgot to press 'e' and choose 'Save game and quit'.

As I am travelling for my work, I am not connected 24/7 (but I am still able to play at least twice a day) so I did not double-check that my turn was sent.

Sorry again,

Xavier April 1st, 2008 01:10 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

cool, thanks. TC's the only left so I'm forcing host now.

Xavier April 4th, 2008 05:18 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

I'm going to have to take the server down for an hour or two pretty soon, as I have to physically move the machine. I'll put it back up with 24 hours to host.

edit: it's back up now, everything should work fine

TC is dead!! Wooohooo

LOL I thought you guys might like that <3. And you can thank me for "gobble-ing" up Tien Chi http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

It is about time to update the first post so that people see that Ulm is not solely played by Evilhomer.

Xavier April 6th, 2008 02:02 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

odd, i thought i did that right when you said you were taking over...I guess it didn't save the change properly or something.

Folket April 6th, 2008 02:56 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

np, but it would be nice if you wrote Evilhomer/Folket since it was agree from the beginning that we were to play this game together.

Folket April 7th, 2008 05:58 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

thanks!

Are we still on 24h QH? Seems like the turns are coming slow. Perhaps I'm just to excited.

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Same here. Go Patala! Next turn Bogus will be history (or my army...)

Xavier April 7th, 2008 07:27 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

No, if you read back a bit you'll see I switched to 36 hour host at turn 20, as per the first post. And even though TC is gone we've had stales the last two turns....

In case anyone has noticed, I haven't managed to set it to 36 hours yet as I haven't actually been around when the turn hosts. So I've been adjusting it when I do get to it, so at some point the number of hours to host has increased for the last couple turns. But it's been pretty darn close to 36 hr./turn since turn 20.

Xavier April 8th, 2008 08:19 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

R'lyeh has staled 3 turns in a row. I'm going to start forcing host if they're the only nation left to submit a turn.

Folket April 9th, 2008 05:42 PM

Re: Vanilla LA - hosted [signup]

Why don't we set them to AI? Or at least ask the person playing if it is okey to have them as AI?
