Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Game has been created. You may upload pretenders. We will start no earlier than Monday evening and I really hope everyone will make their pretenders by that time)
Here's the link: http://www.llamaserver.net/gameinfo.cgi?game=Stasis |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
So do we use the map attached to the first post of this thread? We were waiting for it to be edited, just not clear on whether or not the final version is there, or what's the deal with that.
And my pretender is in finally, my apologies for dragging my feet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Yes, the final version of the map is attached to the first post. The only difference form original Alexander map (no libraries) is in the predefined stating locations I've listed above.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
So we are only waiting for Machaka, Mictlan and Pythium.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Pretender sent. Sorry for the delay folks.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
On other matters:
I am in Chicago from Friday till Sunday. I am not expecting to delay the game. My positions in all games will be capably handled by Mark Montero. I am going to down the servers Thursday night at midnight, to give them a fresh reboot, and to install some remote management software. That way if something happens while I'm away, there will be at least the possibility of resolving the problem remotely. Best to all Chris |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
I wrote llamabeast so hopefully we will soon have the game running.
Chris, did I understand right that you request a delay if something occasionally goes wrong? |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
what is the victory condition by the way?
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Er, nope = )
I cut and pasted the message from all games, including ones I'm hosting. I'm really crossing my fingers there will be no problems - but I will have no way (I think) of figuring out if there is a problem. I've arranged a sub - and hes a good guy - but if its three turns of staling (gosh I hope not), I'll probably just drop. |

Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Is there something wrong? It looks like all the players have sent in their pretenders and yet I have not received a turn.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
I wrote llamabeast twice. Noone except him can start the game.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
On the case, should be starting later today.
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
thanks General Llamabeast!
You are a real (worthy?) British hero. |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Ok, the game has started. Thanks llamabeast and gl everyone)
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
I downloaded the map from the first attachment... extracted into map folder.
game says.. Na got ge flik... No alexandre.tga ... and sure enough.. there is no tga file. Sooo where do I find said varmint? Soooo I download tga file... and now the icons are corrupt.. Same thing happened to me on the kingmaker.. |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
First, sadly second turn will be paused until Monday due to johnarryn's major request
Second, chris, I really don't know anything about your problem. File Alexander.tga (not Alexandre.tga) should be attached to the first post (it seems to work fine for everybody). As for corrupted icons I know nothing at all. Must be a global problem. |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
You may try to download the map from the discussion thread but I'm pretty sure that .tga files are identical
|
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Chris, the attachment on the first post is a RAR file, which is like a zip file. If you can't open it you need to download a program called winrar from here:
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe You should then be able to open the rar file, and find that it contains Alexander.tga, which you should put in your dominions3/maps folder. |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
llamabeast
I don't think that was the problem because Chris says he "extracted the file into map folder". |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Well if he hasn't got a tga file he must have had an issue somewhere along those lines.
chris - what file do you have? |
Re: Stasis- MA game (open). Sign up!
Actually, this has happened two times.
What happens if I download the mod file before the map file, the game will not work. aka - when I run it, I can't see neighbors, 3 icons of recruitable troops don't show up, etc. However, if I then just download the mod file again, everything works fine. |
Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
We have a message for you.
|
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
You may send a PM to Ulm via forum. karnoza is a registered user.
|
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
The silence is deafening in this game! Anything interesting happening in the game? Have any major conflicts begun?
|
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
So far, the mage-chefs of Ryleh have sampled the primitive brain-meats of 3 nations. Shinuyama's shamblers were a bland and flavorless meal, while Tien Chi's archers and calvary had a bit more spice. Our favorite has been the skin shifters of Midgard. They start out as a rugged, hearty fare, which quickly changes into a wild and zestful second course. With their constant regeneration, they are meal enough for even the hungriest star-spawn. Sadly, the period of independent expansion is coming to and end, and we can no longer easily arrange such meetings between our chefs and the wandering food-herds of the other nations. If you have any particularly tasteful neighbors, let us know and will split them with you.
Hmm, and on a sadder note, Llamaserver is rejecting my turn. Something about Llamaserver overstepping its free daily hosting limits. |
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
Wow, this turn wasn't nice, I attacked a province that had 14 elephants, still not sure how I won this!?
And on another matter, I need death and astral gems and offer water in return , I am C'tis by the way. |
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
Ryleh is also looking for death gems, as well as a thistle mace.
|
Re: Will Ulm Please Contact the Giants
Bandar Log requests audience with the other neighbors of mighty Mictlan.
We would just like a head start on negotiations with our soon-to-be neighbors. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Ulm - Ashdod.
It seems that there is some misunderstanding between Ulm and Ashdod. Has been informed that Ashdod is sending away messages accusing Ulm of "violating a NAP, prior to its expiration".
But below is previous message from Asdod to Ulm which states conditions of breaking a NAP: _______________________________ I regret to inform you ... From: chrispedersen That as of this turn(13) my ally requires me to nullify my nap with you. I personally think it will all be over by the time the nap expires (hostilities could commence on 17), but I am honor bound to say something. I propose to revisit the matter with you, then. Best wishes. ____________________ So, on turn 18 Ulm attacked some Ashdod province by a single scout and this is not NAP violation in anyway. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
The time for pomp and ceremony is over. The hillsides of the once expansive Bandar empire glow from the fires of Ulmish armies, and the unreasonable invasion horde from Mictlan.
Neighbors, friends, and enemies of Mictlan, know this - their empire has launched an all-out offensive against us, the army is not only massive, but is supported by what would seem to be the vast bulk of Mictlan's mage-priests. After having our primary defenses rudely crushed by Ulm, Mictlan has nearly effortlessly established a beachhead, facing only reinforcements. The only way all of you can avoid being the next target for annexation, is to strike at the soft underbelly. Take a bite from the beast, or declare him your master - time is short. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Hey!
In the interests of fairness, I have to conclude that karnoza is right. Staling on MY part is not an error on his! Fair is fair: Game on! |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Well, its been a tough game for Abysia, hit from three sides and a newbie player learning the power of a SC the hard way.
Down to my last province, some joy at last in a successful defence finally killing the machaka pretender SC who has singlehandedly been killing armies that were otherwise handling the regular Machakan armies comfortably Hopefully I can hold out and frustrate the invadres a little longer, and hope someone can take advantage of machaka's misofrtune before the god returns and is rearmed - albeit with a couple of afflictions |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Reports from the ravaged lands in Bandar Log seem to depict several dozen frightened and bloodied Mictlan troops fleeing from the Bandar capital.
A spokesman for the Bandar, the venerable White One Mikhael Blackson would only provide this short quote to reporters, "When all else fails, ethereal Markatas will terrify even the stoutest of men.". It is unknown at the present time what this statement actually means, but it is believed to elude to a secret doomsday weapon that the Bandar have developed far beneath their mountain home. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Hmm, more likely exploding markata...
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
While it may be true that some wondered if the designation "C4" emblazoned on the new uniforms were simply a military distinction - the results were reality defying.
The one survivor who was taken back to the fortress in Bandar Log could barely speak, save to repeat endlessly, "Damned little monkeys bit my ears off!". |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
I will be out of town this weekend, so if I could get a small delay that'd be awesome. I'll be leaving about 5PM EST on Friday the 18th, and getting back about 10PM EST on Sunday the 20th.
Thanks in advance. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
No problem, but could you please remind me (here or with PM) more close to that date? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
It may also happen that no delay will be needed at all. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Machaka would like to buy nature gems. We may offer fire, death or earth gems in exchange.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Alright I'm back. I just got my turn in. Thanks again for the delay everyone.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
And Ermor is looking to trade for some Earth Boots and/or Dwarven Hammers. We've many things to trade, so drop me a line.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Ryleh is looking for Dwarf Hammers. We can trade several types of boosters, or just earth gems.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
And after examining the turn, I would also like to announce that Ryleh has entered the war again Bandar Log. Ulm and Mictlan need not live in fear any longer, for Ryleh will soon put an end to the Markata Menance.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
What war? I just see some poor little monkeys trapped in a few towers way up in the mountains.
Shame on you! Shame on you all! Okay, now that I got that out of my system..... Hurry up and kill me off so I can plot my Bandarevenge! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
The sleepy giants are looking to buy gems.
20 gp offered for fire. 15 gp offered for death, earth, nature. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
I doubt you'll find anyone willing to sell his valuable gems for mere gold http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
|
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
I already have.
Theres nothing 'magic' about gems. If building castles faster, or building troops faster, or buying mercs helps you expand where otherwise you are sitting on 5 or 10 nature gems, 2-3 air gems. It makes sense to sell. |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Wish someone had offered to trade me cool stuff for my gems..... I have 200 or so sitting around getting moldy.
Shame on you all! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif |
Re: Ulm - Ashdod.
Feel free to throw them Ermor's way! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif:D:D
