We shed a tear for our short lived allies and our short lived alliance with them! At least their women will be devoured by friends among the Lovely Lankans, rather than their Fomorian Foes.

Marvereni have been eliminated, haven't they? Why are they still on the llamaserver? is that normal?

llamabeast July 17th, 2008 11:43 AM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

The LlamaServer includes all nations in the list for which Dominions produced a .trn file last turn. Once a nation gets knocked out Dominions still produces one last turn for it, in which they can see the "You have been defeated" message. Ideally a player will click "End turn" for that final turn and send in the 2h for it, so the other players don't have to wait. However, people generally don't, as it seems pointless.

The following turn Dominions will not produce a trn file for the dead nation, and they'll disappear from the list of nations on the LlamaServer.

If anyone has their eyes set on invading the southern continent, now is the time. Pangaea in the west is busy besieging Niefelheim's capitol with a large force and his lands are undefended. Sauromatia in the east has just declared war on Niefelheim and is preparing for an invasion, which will leave his coastal provinces largely defenseless.
This is clearly a campaign to purge the world of giants, all free peoples should unite to liberate Niefelheim from its oppressors. If not for the sake of justice, then for cultural diversity and our fight against global warming.

Today is a great day! The False Pretender, The Magnificent Piggles, the Prince of Death, has been turned to dust. He was long overdue. The rest of his kingdom shall follow shortly.

Don't say we didn't warn you, Arcosephale. And definitely don't say we didn't warn you repeatedly. Because we did. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well, it's a move of desperation, it sounds like. On the other hand, Miagi may very well be right http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif now might just be the time to take a bite of Pang of Sauro =p

Anyway, I'm busying myself with Arcosephale.

Take a bite of Pang of Sauro???
Sauro does the bitting around here, and why have our brothers in Blood, Lanka, turned on us?

Oh, I'm not turning on you, Executor! I am just saying that Mr. Miagi, unless he is misrepresenting the facts, is probably right that you're vulnerable. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I also noted that it sounds like a tactic of desperation, which means Miagi probably isn't doing such a hot job of holding up against the onslaught.

You're right, though, Sauro definitely does the biting. I don't think I have a bite attack in my entire arsenal. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yes... I now feel rather bad that I'm about to attack Neifel, I don't think anybody could survive an onslaught like this at this point of game, but my army had to be directed somewhere and we consider Fomoria our friends!

You shouldn't feel bad. He invaded me the turn after I sent him a friendly note offering a NAP and stating that I would not take any neutrals closer than 2 provinces from his capital. Then, after I fought back, he turned my sieging of his capital into a heinous war of extermination against giants! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Typical anti-giant propaganda. The honourable Niefel Giants will hear no more of this slander.

Calahan July 21st, 2008 10:32 AM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

There has been an anti-giant campaign in the world of 'FreshMeat' from the very first days of creation. First the Fomorian's were attacked without provocation by the brave but reckless people of Marverni. This was followed by threats to Fomoria from Tir na n'Og, who objected to Fomoria very existence, and finished off with a dashing rescue of Marverni from Fomorian clutches by the rampant demon monkeys of Lanka.

And now the same story is being read over once more, as another nation of giants finds itself repelling borders against multiple foes. What have the giants done to deserve such hostile receptions and reactions from almost all the other nations?

anticipatient July 21st, 2008 05:38 PM

Fomoria was never persecuted by Lanka.

How strapped is piggles in this game?

Hey guys. Sorry for not being more responsive. I'm ready to hand things over to grudgebringer. What do I have to do?

I have to admit, things are looking somewhat dire, but maybe you can put all that research to good use. I just can't give the game the attention that it requires right now.

He has nothing to lose and everything to gain by being the Joker in this game.

Be afraid...Be VERY afraid!!!

Also, I have never subbed so do I get like a 2 turn moritorium on being attacked or attacking to analyze what I have and what to do?

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

Hello again Grudge :-)

Thought you'd better know that Arco are probably in a no hope position, and if you do take over them you will be at war with Lanka and with Fomoria, again! Which is definitely nothing personal :-)

Actually not sure how much longer Arco will last to be honest, as there are 2 wars in full swing against them, and it'd be a bit too much to ask either Fomoria (myself) or Lanka (anticipatient) to delay their attacks against Arco for 2-3 turns so that a sub could get settled in.

anticipatient July 24th, 2008 07:48 AM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

I can tell you how long Arco will last. Four turns, plus two-there turns siege time, unless there are some mighty big tricks up arcosephalean sleeves.

I want a couple of oreiads . . .

Yeah, I'd be willing to let you get settled in, except that I've spent a good seven turns or more committing the majority of my forces against Arco . . . so they'd just be eating up gold if I let up. Course, you could always bribe me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Nope, that's excellent, thanks.

I got confused because this thread was still on my "Favourite threads" list, which I normally only use for games I'm admining. I'll take it off now.

Thanks again Ubercat.

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

I'm still not sure if I'm supposed to do something here. I don't know how to switch a faction between players, if that's what is needed. Could someone spell out what factions are involved and how I do it?

anticipatient July 28th, 2008 09:23 PM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

Arcosephale is almost dead, and Piggles quit pretty recently. We could turn him AI or have someone play his remaining turns (honestly, there will be something like 8 or 10, I think).

Ubercat July 28th, 2008 09:38 PM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

I'll change his Email to mine and when I get his turn I'll set him to AI and send it back. That's a lot easier than trying to find a sub, especially since they'll just be waiting to get eliminated anyway.

anticipatient August 1st, 2008 05:19 AM

I would like to point out, publicly, that majuva68 has threatened (and is following through with said threat) that were I to make war on him in the game, Freshmeat, he would make war on me in all games.

I encourage all of you to review Sheap's rules of conduct.

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...;Number=575534

Please discourage majuva68 from carrying issues from one game into other games.

And yes, following his threat, I broke our nap.

Calahan August 9th, 2008 03:46 AM

Re: FreshMeat - new thread, and game started!

I agree wholeheartedly Anticipatient.

I think THE golden rule above all others for Dominions MP games is that you should always keep your games absolutely separate, and never ever take issues from one game into any other games. As a player who is a firm ally in one game can easily be your most aggressive back-stabbing foe in another. And that's the way it should be. As each game brings up its own unique problems and issues, but these should never be allowed to escape from the enclosed game world in which they occur, and then should all come to an end with the end of that particular game.

I read Sheap's fantastic MP guide several times before playing my first MP game. I highly advise anyone who hasn't read it to do so now (link in anticipatient's above post)

majuva68 August 12th, 2008 04:17 AM

My laptop is K.O, the hardisk is breaking. I can't do nothing. Anticipatient, you attack me without respect our NAP, this is the reason we are in war in all games. I can't connect in 15 days, when i'll come back we disscuss this. I can say a lot of things but you attack me before NAP is broken. Who are best ?. Put me in A.I, I can't search a sub

Calahan August 12th, 2008 08:13 AM

All

Hope nobody objects, but I've started looking for a sub for majuva68, and asked Ubercat for a 48hr delay to give a reasonable chance of finding one.

I think it would be a real shame if one of the competing nations had to be turned AI at this late stage.

It's not looking good as far as a sub goes. We may just have to AI TC and all of us face the consequences.
