I appreciated the delay, as I submitted a different pretender. ;) But I'm as ready as I'll ever be now.....

Let's get ready toooooooo RUUUUMMMMMMBLLLLLE!

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

max 18 players....but only 17 is in.

Slobby October 26th, 2008 10:15 AM

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

Quite, I've sent pm's to Jarko and Ylvali, whoever replies first gets the 18th spot. It's very unfortunate that we lost a player during the pretender loading, hopefully this will all be resolved quickly and we can start up early this week.

**On the plus side I'm happy that strictly didn't upload his pretender and then decide to quit during the game!

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

I see there are only 12 dl'ds of the image file, I'm pretty sure that you'll need it to play the game, best dld it before the 24hrs are up!

archaeolept October 26th, 2008 07:05 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

technically, all they need is any image file w/ the right number of white dots (1 per province), and rename it :)

would be an interesting way to play... ;p

JimMorrison October 26th, 2008 07:10 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

So ummmmm. I followed your link in the top post, and downloaded - SingleAgeComplete.dm - from your DL link, and placed it in my mods folder.

But, the game is demanding I have Single Age Mod.dm instead. Should I just rename this file? I am a bit confused.

Slobby October 26th, 2008 07:14 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

Yes rename it, I don't know why llama renamed the file, but it was.

Rename to - Single Age mod
and the game will accept it.

I'll prolong the first turn by 24hrs since it seems there may be some issues.

klagrok October 26th, 2008 07:14 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Upload pretenders!

I renamed it as well--also had original SA mod--think they are the same. Im getting the same error as you Jim. Recreated saved game spot, reloaded email. Will try to download image-first time I did it a few weeks ago it didnt work. Hopefully it will this time.

The version I did and which is used for this game is SingleAgeComplete, I'm pretty sure llama took my version for the llamaserver, although I could be wrong. Sadly now that I've had to rename it it's now Single Age mod.

Thanks but I figured it out :) Had to rename to file itself OOPS!! However, now Im getting the map error message :(

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Okay, seems to be working fine so far.

I sure hope you didn't start anyone in those 8-9 neighbor provinces, that's a lot of resources. ;)

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Seems like I made a cockup there. Sorry about the inconvenience.

I'll add it to my todo list.

Edit: Referring to the mod filename inconsistency.

Jane Goodall is known for being a famous primatologist. She basically pioneered the field with her studies.

Hey guys...

I've downloaded the map, and the mods.. and enabled single age mod. But everytime I try to start the game, it says single age mod has to be enabled.

But it is.

Help?!

Executor October 27th, 2008 10:37 AM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

You have to rename the mod to Single Age Mod.

Slobby October 27th, 2008 06:17 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Looks like the first turn went without a hitch, hosting interval back down to 24h

PsiSoldier October 27th, 2008 06:26 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Hrrrm Ok here is a silly question. Does a province next to your capital that is cut off by mountains still contribute resources to your capital if you take the province, even though there is no direct path to it from your capital? Its either that.. Or watch my boys get trampled by the elephants in the other province next to them.

It does? I don't think so. Only adjacent provinces contribute resources, unless I'm very much mistaken.

You're not mistaken...;) I read Psi's post too quickly. Looks like you get to face the elephants Psi!

PsiSoldier October 27th, 2008 07:37 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

well, it is adjacent.. Kinda just adjacent and separated by mountains...

JimMorrison October 28th, 2008 07:33 AM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

In terms of game mechanics, no, it is not adjacent. A province can technically have neighbors anywhere on the map, as far as visual reckoning is concerned - and will take resources from any neighbors, and only neighbors.

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Whats going on with this game? Every one submitted.. but one guy .. then all but another one... Now ulm hasn't submitted? Is this game every going to submit?

What happened to the 24 hour turn around?

Slobby October 28th, 2008 10:04 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

This'll be the sole exception, the game is on 24h, but I didn't change the due time thinking that since everyone got their first turn in so fast that it would be the same turn around. Obviously that hasn't happened. :)

chrispedersen October 29th, 2008 07:33 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

whats going on? the game is now delayed till sunday - for one player? Im starting to be interested in dropping.

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=41061 <- llamaserver is down, and llama won't be back until saturday. I'll turn it back just for you tho ;).

Has anyone tried to contact ulm?

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

This is an interesting situation. Given that he's MA Ulm, and assuming that he's gone AWOL would you guys like me to try to find a sub?

By the time I got in and checked the server he would have already staled, assuming he didn't put in his turn, it's impossible to tell. I've put the forcehosting command in so when llama fixes the server the game will be on it's merry way once again.

So he's playing one of the weakest nations in an mp game with almost all the heavies and will no doubt be targeted, and he may have staled his 2nd turn and thus be behind in the expansion phase. It's a dire situation for any player.

If he is awol it might be just as good, and potentially quicker, to just set the nation to ai once the servers back up.

Actually, getting a sub sounds like a good idea. Ulm's got some very potent anti-sacreds when used well. Darkwind used them to absolutely decimate a sacred, flying army of helheims in Kingmaker, and I've had them used against me in aquarium, and they still made a mess of my first wave of eagle warriors

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Stop this madnes! I am here and have now submitted my turn (phew I was lucky thanks to the sudden difficulties on the lamaserver). You almost dumped me off didnt you? Well I wont blame you.
And what comes to the comment of Ulm being weak, well maybe your right, but its still my favourite nation. This is my second time playing mp with it (last time I was trampled by caelian mammoths).

By the way, if I just send my turn will it then be accepted when the server is back up?

chrispedersen October 30th, 2008 12:49 PM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Personally, I think that people that think ulm are weak after the new changes are in for a surprise - especially bless nations.

Do we want to try hosting a few turns somewhere other than llama?

Aapeli October 31st, 2008 10:02 AM

Re: Timewarp! - Game is live!

Ok seomething funny just happened. The server got my turn and now claims that it has got my 50 revised turns. Meaning that I got 52 notifications about my turn being recieved (actually I sent the turn of two games so 26 each)...
