Re: lochness; LA - open
Ulm sends its greetings to Tien Chi. Your visit to our lands was most unexpected, especially since you have many independent provinces yet unconquered around your capitol. Please let us know when you will stopping by again, so I can prepare a proper welcome.

Re: lochness; LA - open
I am moving to another city on tuesday, so I might have to stall one or two turns. If I stall more that, maybe I have a problem getting an internet connection quickly and should be replaced (I hope it won't come to that though :))
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Patala has staled 3 turns in a row now, has zero provinces left (just a fort) and looks like they will stale again. Can we please get a volunteer to set them AI?
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
I can do that if you need, vfb, I'll send Omni my mail address as soon as you're sure it is needed :)
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Turned Patala AI. Yep it was screwed :o Continue having fun guys ;)
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Man has launched an unprovoked and brutal assault on Rus territory! Their evil tax collecting armies have attacked the peaceful people of the Democratic Republic of Bogarus. The ghost of Nevski calls out for the peasants and workers to rise up to defend the motherland!
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Unprovoked? Your inefficient and haphazard expansionism has caused the death of Sir Bartholomew Paisley, esquire, Lord Administrator of the Tower of Chelms. Do you know how much paperwork we had to go through?
Nor did we receive any apologies or reparations. Now be a good little nation and keep quiet while you get Manhandled.:D |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Your armies shall die in our rich and not so peaceful land!
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
The peasants and workers of Rus have crushed the invading armies of Man. Both English armies were largely destroyed and their commanders killed. Should other nations wish to join in Man's forces will soon be fully committed to the Bogaran front.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
That wasn't supposed to happen. You were supposed to fall down and die. I'm a genius. Things should go the way I want them to. Its not faaaaaiiiiiir....
... ... Deep breaths, deep breaths. We have reserves. Those losses were trivial. Insignificant. Inconsequential. The Magisters of Economics and Royal Census Takers say everything is fine. So everything is fine. I still have my money. I will drown you in a sea of money. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Ulm is beating a retreat before the vast army Man has hired with his billions and billions of gold reserves. As we retreat we notice that the we see no messengers bearing orders from the Bogarus capitol. We think perhaps they have become leaderless:
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=42133 Although it would be nicer for us if Ulm were able to flee through the lands of Bogarus unmolested, it would probably be fairer if at least the AI was there to molest us as we pass through. -- The Real Tree Fiddy |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Hello
I have to go back home and drop the games I'm in (I can't take my computer). I'm sorry to warn so late (and after having already stalled one or two turns) but something unexpected came up and I forgot a bit about the games I'm in. There is no password on my pretender, do as you see fit :) (it is possible that I will be available again in a week or so if no sub has been found yet...) Have fun, |
Re: lochness; LA - running
dark kitty:
could you set yourself to AI? I don't think a sub would be willing to pick up here. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I know Mictlan bailed, and it looks like Bogarus did too. If I don't hear otherwise, I'm having Bogarus set to AI too.
If you decided to leave, and your nation is in an unenviable position, please at least have the common courtesy to set yourself to AI, it isn't like someone's going to want to sub for your about-to-be-seiged-capital-only-one-province-empire :| |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Mictlan set to AI; waiting for your confirmation about Bogarus ;)
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Confirmation received, both your guys are AI now, there's nothing to see here, please continue have fun :)
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
holy crap!!!
it's been just a real busy weekend for me everyone!!! I'm sorry for staling TWICE!!! won't happen again. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Uh... it happened again (C'tis staled twice again). But you are not being invaded or anything ... at least the graphs don't show any provinces lost.
So, I hope you can keep playing. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I know :(
new job new girlfriend lots of school work and I just can't keep up. I see "oh, need to do my turn in two hours, I'll do it just as soon as I finish this thing" then I forget and two hours go by. I never seem to have the time anymore... :( I am being invaded though. I'd like to keep playing just so Mari doesn't get a free pass to all my lands :p If I can't stop staling though I'll set myself to AI. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
You're not in totally terrible shape from what the graphs are showing, and your renimators appear to have been at work even while you were unable to do your turns. I think Marignon may have been chivalrously refraining from invading you while you staled.
So you might be able to get a sub or something. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I didn't notice he was staling, I noticed much less opposition than expected, though. Now I understand why nobody came to break the siege on that bottleneck-blocking castle.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Nozshand, what's going on?
I can understand C'tis going AI. Even though it might have been nice for them to fight it out, they didn't stand much chance against Marignon. But Pan? Pan has 29 provinces left, and Mother Oak and Gift of Health up. It just doesn't make sense for them to have gone AI. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
And Man staled.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Oh, I didn't notice that. Man is not in super-great shape, since he's being invaded by both Pan and Ulm, and also the last army of the Bogarus AI has decided to rampage through Man's lands.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
You boys decide who is gonna win the game and let me know so that I can try and nuke them. I'll just sit, wait, and empower my mages to cast wish. I was thinking armageddon might be thematic.
I think Pan was AI for a while now - bad memory though. Was wondering why he did that and curious how he kept going up in the graphs. Actually, it would be amusing if the AI won the game. Now there is a plan I could get behind! |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Oh, so I am to trade you astral boosters so you can nuke the whole game? Can you afford a RoS or RoW as well? Or maybe a const8 astral booster? :p
Wish for Armaggedon while I summon angels, that would be thematic indeed. So much research to do yet... |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Absolutely epic battles for the abandoned territories of Bogarus consumed the former territories of Man this month!
Unfortunately for Ulm, our scouts blinked first. :) |

I am a bit surprised not to have been attacked earlier. But these horrors did a good job.
I have very little experience of late game, epecially in such a good position. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Ulm formally offers its apologies for failing to attack you sooner. We have of course become very concerned about Marignon's imminent ascendance.
But there were some other aggressive nations that had to be dealt with first, it's just unfortunate that they did not direct their aggression at you! -- Ulm |

Re: lochness; LA - running
I'd like to PM Llamabeast to see if he can re-run turn 48 with everyone's turn, instead of everyone staling. If Marignon didn't already submit a turn 48 .2h, because of the llamaserver madness, then they should have a chance to send in turn 48 orders.
The problem with just staling is that: - My blood hunting is likely messed up, because I was unable to adjust for unrest, or take slaves off of full hunters. - I lost fever fetishes that I gave orders to be moved onto different units. It's not a rollback that will require anyone to redo their orders. I'm pretty sure llamabeast has a backup of the .2h files, so we don't even need to submit orders. Does anyone have any objections? Edit: Since the game is scheduled to host in 48 hours, not 5 days like most of the llamaserver games that crashed, I've PM'ed Omni and asked him to extend the timer by 48 hours. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
No objection here.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Thanks Apsophos! Very kind of you.
But I see llamaserver is patched to 3.23 now, and also Pythium has submitted a new turn 49. I'll just accept the stale. Rolling back now that the system has been patched is probably going to cause all kinds of grief. -- vfb |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Oh, hold on ... :)
Llamabeast seems to know about the problems with this game already: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showpost.php?p=680639 So, if he gets it sorted out, great! Otherwise I eat the stale and continue. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
hi all,
I'm still admining the game. if anyone else would like to take over, please PM me. on this note, my password isn't working :( when llamaserver went down, I pm'd llama about resetting passwords. i've tried using both this new password and (what I thought was) my old password, neither works. ie: I can't postpone the hosting as asked :( i've PM'd llama again. hopefully he get's back and resolves the issue quickly enough. -Omni |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Llamabeast has very kindly sorted out the problems with the lochness game, and re-run the crashed turn.
Please make sure you delete any .2h file in your game directory which may exist from viewing/playing turns following the crashed turn. Otherwise your new orders may get screwed up. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I'll volunteer for admin duties, since no-one else has, but my first act will be to change to a 3-day timer.
If anyone has objections, please object, and you can admin instead of me. :) |
Re: lochness; LA - running
EDIT: nvm. looks like my PW is working. llama must'v gotten it.
vfb is in charge now. i sent him the PW. good luck all. -O |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I added an additional 8 hours to the timer because it looked like Marignon was going to stale.
There's still no Marignon turn in, with an hour or so left on the timer. So I added another 24 hours. -- vfb |
Re: lochness; LA - running
Still waiting to hear from Marignon. Added another 24 hours.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
I'm willing to wait till we get some word from him. If he chooses to not continue the game for some reason, I forfeit. Continuing this game with a sub is just too silly, given the amount of people that have gone AI.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
Well, Pangaea was the only nation that went AI without a good reason. But I don't mind if you don't want to continue without Apsophos. I still haven't heard back for him, and it's been a week.
Should I post for subs for Pythium and Marignon? I don't think Pythium has much chance of victory, but Marignon has all the elemental royalty, a good amount of artifacts, and a Seraph. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I recall a few people having staled a few times, etc. Not just Pan going AI.
Do as you wish. If the original Marignon continues, I will keep playing. |
Re: lochness; LA - running
I see Apsophos was on the forums today, so I sent him a PM asking him if he'd like to continue the game.
|
Re: lochness; LA - running
I'm tired of waiting around while Apsophos ignores me and does not submit turns or respond to my PMs. Marignon has been unable to stop my Horror raiding or mount any sort of offense against me. I've killed two kitted-out angels (Fury, Harbinger) of his with cheap Mind Hunts, and his Air Queens are just sitting in his castles.
I'm going to declare victory by default for Ulm on turn 50, unless Pythium objects. Final province count: Ulm 58 Marignon 36 Pythium 32 AIs the rest |
