I wrote llamabeast about the problems, it seems the game vanished either because of some llamaserver troubles or by user error on me.

I (still) do not se this game up at llamaserver. Am I the only one? I haven't recieved the initial turn file, so am getting a bit jumpy that I might miss the first turn already :sick:

Alpine Joe (Caelum) is quite possibly lost in time and space. He was set AI in Heracles, and is staling in Magellan too.

Sorry about the stale. I've been very sick the past week, a good portion of that time was spent at the hospital, and its been difficult to keep up on my games. I'm back now and feeling better, and I won't let it happen again.

No problem, no one really expect the game to move faster than the set hosttime. i think i was in only 2 or 3 games that moved faster. The only thing that can happen to you when you stale too much is that you are considered missing and will be set to AI.

Ack, sorry, been distracted.

So, I can confirm that the spells aren't available. Yet, in a game I happen to have a game running with exactly the same mods, the spells are there as normal (try it). So it's not a problem with the mods.

My suggestion would be to try waiting one turn. Sometimes spells become unavailable for a turn. The thing is that this is normally caused by patching, and I guess the patch was more than one turn ago? If the patch was just last turn then that is definitely the problem. If not then I am somewhat mystified, but debugging step 1 is nevertheless to simply move to the next turn and see if the problem goes away. I think it's quite likely that it will.

Wow. This is ****ing ridiculous. I absolutely must have the Heal The Dead spell to compete with banishment spam, but now I can't access it on any of my priests. If I make a new game, it's fine, but this one is borked.

I'm also having other issues, I think I've had 2-3 BAD replays where what happens in the battle results does not match what happens in the battle replay. I've had this happen before, but never more than once in a single game. This is turn 10 and I think I've seen it happen 3 times.

I can't even express how extremely frustrating this is. I may just drop out.

maybe there are problems with the combination of tomb kings and CBM, as some numbers used are the same.

I would appreciate a bit of calm. I know I'm in the best position to fix this, but it isn't always easy to get to things immediately. I have other things to do in my life as well. As it happens I've spent something like 16 hours in the last two days trying to fix a laptop.

Firstly, the Heal the Dead spell is in my opinion fairly useless, but there we are. If you have found it useful in tests I'm actually very happy. In any case, it clearly isn't satisfactory to have missing spells. The other missing one is potentially very valuable in my opinion, so we need to get it fixed.

The bad replays are almost certainly caused by the same problem. In fact, in the actual battles your priests are very probably casting Heal the Dead. It's just that you can't see them do it.

I've had a couple of new ideas on how to tackle this. I'm just about to go out to a "tea party" though, unusually. I'll try to fix it this evening.

Ha! Fixy fixy!

So, when CBM1.41 came out I was unable to load it on the LlamaServer. The reason was some quirk of the way that mods are loaded differently in text mode. qm had renamed "Summon serpent fiend" to "Summon serpent fiends" and the same with spine devils, and in text mode it didn't like that because it couldn't find Summon serpent fiend any more (very silly). So I changed it so that Summon serpent fiends is a modified copy of the original spell, and the original spell is unresearchable. No problems.

I then promptly forgot about this. So, ever since, the LlamaServer has been running a very slightly different version of CBM to all the players, with no noticeable effects. However, the changed number of spells obviously had some effect on mod nations, causing Jazzepi to lose his spells.

QM just kindly gave me permission to replace his CBM version with my modified one (I fixed the Agarthan Blindlord bug as well). So, the first post in the CBM thread now contains my version.

So:

1) Everyone needs to download the new version from the CBM thread.
2) Jazzepi needs to wait one more turn to see his spells.*

* - This is because I actually just made another change to the CBM version on LlamaServer, since I'd made a mistake. Consequently even after downloading my version you'll have a different version to the server for one more turn. But from next turn on everything should be synched and happy.

Note that if you don't download the new version, you will probably see no errors unless you fight the Tomb Kings.

Also Jazzepi, your priests have indeed been casting Heal the Dead this whole time, it's just that your battle replays have been screwy. I'm sorry you got affected by all this anyway. It can sometimes be very hard to avoid making errors in running the server.

This would explain a lot of different things that have been going on. My priests were basically unscripted since turn 1 =\ I loaded up the modded version of CBM and I could watch the battles accurately.

Basically what happened is that since the spells were screwy, I had them set to cast spells that they didn't have access to. I guess if you give the AI orders based off of that they just ignore them (which makes sense).

I appreciate you finding the problem Llamabeast. No worries. The bug has gimped me some, but I'll see if I can come back now that it's fixed. The main problem is not having the spells to script /this turn/ so I have to do some stuff that is strategically unsound because of it.

Perhaps it would help to imagine it was an Unlucky Event.

Good game Illuminated One, that was a nice attempt with the summon animals. Lucky for me you didn't get many Hippocampuses.

Mister lizards, R'lyeh is not strong at all. We are peaceful denizens of the deep, solely interested in exploring the oceans of the world to satisfy our curiosity. There's no need to be alarmed, we're nowhere near the top of the charts in any category. And it's not like our dominion causes insanity or ... anything.

Alright, guess I'm a little hasty with my AI requests. Arco got his turn in, with 15 minutes left on the timer. It's just that he had only one province left (two now), and staled 3 out of 4 turns before this one, and everyone else had their turn submitted a while ago. I wish the post edit function was not shut off after 30 minutes!

On another note the Grey Seers in their wisdom have decided to secure a Thistle Mace to further the interests of the Skaven. In return for said item the Skaven are willing to forge "stuff", trade gems or divine futures.

Hm, I'm all for running a game as fast as possible, but as Digress wrote it already - could we get a slight extension over the Easter weekend? Personally, I could do with just 48hrs for two hostruns (I'm not generally away, just infrequently at home), but that's just my idea/request unless others join in...

In other news, C'tis wants to trade for a few Earth gems (well, quite a few in fact) or alternatively wants to purchase a dwarven hammer (or yet alternatively, wants to purchase earth boots + some earth gems). In return C'tis can offer nature, water and/or death gems or some basic craftables (for example, somebdoy did ask for a thistle mace earlier, C'tis can craft that now).

Does someone have the original 1.41 version of cbm, so that i can watch what really happened in the siege.

OTOH, it is fun that the replay says i lost, but i did not loose anything important in the truth :)

Yep, I have the "old" CBM1.41, without the TombKings fix.

Doesn't change the battle, though.
