oh yay, take things out of context. whatever. have fun with it. If i had time to copy paste some of my other lines from my PM's i could explain how you made a horrible judgement error by thinking i would never attack you. i was garrisoning borders. i did for about 7 turns after your question. if you'd asked maybe 3 turns ago, i would have been more forthcoming as i actually did plan to attack then. if you intended this to be a totally open, tell everyone your plans every turn game, i must have missed the memo.

please don't take things out of context and be a little reasonable. its a game, i exxplained to you how i saw things, and we had a misunderstanding. not a huge deal, not lying backstabbing, and not gross ignorance on Abyssia's part, a misunderstanding. i attacked you because thats what we do in Dom3.

I have no problem with attacks, even sneak attacks. Hovewer your attitude before my host statement and right after changed so radically, that there is only one conclusion. Reason you attacked against me right now, no matter what you told earlier. You had a motive, - personal one. Thats something out of context, the game itself should be different out of hosting the game.

Funny part is, that you admit by yourself that I was right. You didin't bother to read about "Fast game for noobs".

Now, lets concentrate to the game?

Hey guys sorry I haven't been on the forum in awhile but I also am in favor of going to 24 hour turns at this point. If it stays the same as it is now I will live with it but I vote in favor of 24. I'll try to keep a better eye on the thread and see what you guys decided. Thanks.

well i don't know if VonAltair is still reading the thread. so i hope he does, cause it would suck if you were to stale at this point in our war. though i could certainly use it lol. :)

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

Ok since votes are 3/4 now, host will work with 24h from this moment (quickhost still on). Although mr. lying backstabber wont need that long, since you will be released from your provinces and your heavy burden will be over :)

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

well its pretty inevitable now isn't it? too darn many flyers. lol. i finished researching and now i get to test out how many mages i can lose in a single turn. lol. we could probably call it a game i guess. theres no way you can lose now.

so yeah, we can call it a game. great job P3D. make sure you report it to the HoF

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

Have to admit, I had two great magic sites - 40% Blood and 20% Construction bonuses (though looking at your loremasters you should not complain either).
I don't think they mattered much, though. I could have easily doubled my blood hunting to compensate for that, and had a lot of gem income that I did not use.
My Rain of Toads/Horror spam seemed pretty efficient from the outside.

I guess my win means I should not take part in any more new Noob games...

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

I'm going to venture out and say that stealing the chalice was what really sealed the deal. That and FL's abysmal N and D incomes.
The toads spam was definitely effective, the horror spam probably a bit less so.
I was impressed though by how effective the jags were as bodyguards for your mages, the manifestation/earth attack spam was wiping Aby from what I could see.

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

yeah, what trumanator said. Not having really any astral magic at all was also really crippling. only reason i survived as long as i did was because of FotA giving me super cheap artifacts and really really cheap clams

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

That surprised me too. 5 of them with F9W9(N4) bless was pretty effective, and the Elementals could not trample them due to high defense. So I did not have to bother with Rings of Warning and devil bodyguards.

Was the early game Death income spent on skull mentors to get so high research?

I would not have wasted N gems to GoR the Tartarians Monstrums. They still fly, have 2 attack and a load of HP.

My Astral magic was only slightly better - S2 Moon Priests vs. S1 Enaries. That's still 4 empowerment to cast Wish. I was also clamming for half the price, that's why I could afford it.

By the last turn I finally got my Tartarian factory going.

F9W9 bless worked for the Pegasus Riders just as fine.

Frozen Lama May 4th, 2009 01:56 AM

Re: *Noobieworld* Fast game for noobs! (started)

it was weird, i only made about 5-7 skull mentors, and i had a drain scale. i just had a ton of money and built a huge amount of enaries.

lol i had 75% off my clams. 3w1n gems. same for bloodstones.

and yeah, those pegasus riders were nasty in the end.

on the last turn, a Doom Horror, the Eater of Gods attacked my gorgon. never seen a doom horror before. survived thanks to armor of virtue though. lol.

i'm assuming we're done, so i won't need to submit a turn file right? P3D did, so umm yeah..

Half the players don't visit the forum often, they are getting an ingame message.

They killed few regular mages yes, but nothing to worry about. Mages are easy to replace with Abysia. I would not waste gems on those spells without knowledge to hit real important targets.

Only thing that was bothering me, was slow research. I did make mistake and choosed -2 drain at start. With such slow nation like Abysia it was bad mistake. I had very hard time at early phase when fighting against Marverni and research was poor. After all I was able to beat Marverni. They only spammed slingers against my E9 blessed burning ones. Marverni could make some damage only with indy crystal mages.

Sauromatia backstabbed me and I had to giveup land at start becose all my armies were sieging Marverni leftover keeps. Sauromatian landforces were almost useless as well. Few lucky archers got hit on my mages and I had to send new mages to fronts. Sauromatia obviosly used superior magic and summoned tartarians and other beasts. After all, those things are not enough without landforce support which was locked down by toads. I had nice collection of Tartarian heads and superior artifacts at the end. Also my slow research were at steps where I could start my own magic storm, but it came too late for this game :)

Once again, thanks to everyone for the game.
