Since he now has staled for 4 turns in a row, I think that yes we should change him to AI. There's a howto on the game admin page explaining the procedure.

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

ketonur May 5th, 2009 02:12 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

I've just submitted my turn 10, but I won't be able to submit turn 11 on time. Would it be possible to delay hosting of turn 11 by a couple of hours please? Say until 21:00 GMT on Friday.

Thank you,

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Hey all, I hadn't been able to do anything for the last week due to general computer malfunction, yet I'm pretty much back now and i would gladly like to go on... though it seems you set me to AI a couple of turns ago.

Perhaps we could rollback so I can get back in?
It's no fun missing out on the game because of outside factors ;)

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

All nations,

Ashdod's capital is in the top left corner at 126. They must be stopped before they spread through out the world. I call for a coalition against them and as such we put aside our differences until they are destroyed. They are agressively expanding in all directions with little regard for any prententions of honesty.

Their forces are still small and concentrated on the mountain range of 124 and 109. Any nation to their south if, were to attack them now, would find no opposition.

This is a real danger. Unless they are stopped now there is little hope for the future.

Join Jotunheim and stand against this terrible menace

Excellent! Jotunheim welcomes the brave Atlantian pledge. Perhaps they would be prepared to provide material to assist us? Gold and water gems would be most appreciated.

Who else will stand with us against the craven bully that is Ashdod?

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

I will be gone tomorrow thru Sunday.
since that would be a long delay, Trumanator will be subbing in for me. since nothing major is happening for me, this should be ok. just letting you guys know in case you need to PM him.

hEad May 19th, 2009 02:31 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

According to another game, it appears that kenotur has gone missing - so this might be a bit of a bugger for our game considering that the hosting hasn't returned to 24hr.

Oh well, lets just see what happens...

Frozen Lama May 19th, 2009 07:05 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

well if he doesn't show up, we can PM llamabeast and i believe he can get the admin password and give it to one of us. lets at least give him another day before we look for a sub/set him AI and PM llamabeast

Frozen Lama May 21st, 2009 07:22 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

well i'm glad to see Kentour appears to be back. i assume we're done with delays and we can get this game rolling?

Frozen Lama May 22nd, 2009 12:35 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

nvm my previous post. i see its still a 124 hour timer. why?? did kentour like lose the ability to get on the forums? he hasn't been on for 4 days.

hEad May 22nd, 2009 10:47 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

I've got on to llamabeast about changing host. Would anyone mind me taking over? need to get back on 24hr time pronto.

Frozen Lama May 22nd, 2009 06:08 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Go for it hEad. i'm really sick of this 124h buisness, and this is one of my most interesting games too, and its in danger of losing intrest

hEad May 23rd, 2009 05:53 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Ok, ive taken over the mantle from kentour. I've set host to 24hr. Still waiting on Ashdod and Pangaea. When their turns get in, I'll turn it over to get going.

Will start looking for a sub for Abysia

Frozen Lama May 23rd, 2009 12:32 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

its really weird because Abysia sent in its turn last time....

hEad May 23rd, 2009 01:39 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

You know, i just noticed that as well. Looked on the stall chart and Abyisa hasn't stalled in the last 3... what does this mean? tis a bit unusual...

ketonur, are you out there???? KETONURRRRRRRRRR!!!

Frozen Lama May 24th, 2009 04:55 PM

hEad May 24th, 2009 10:37 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Fingers on the button... Seeing as he has poped up before, i'll give him till tonight (my time GMT+8). We need a sub as well then.

Frozen Lama May 25th, 2009 04:34 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

can that finger hit the button?

hEad May 26th, 2009 03:22 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

lol, Ok, just posted for a sub for Abysia. We'll have another turn and see what happens. If we can't get one, how soon should we AI them?

hEad May 27th, 2009 03:18 AM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Doesn't look like we will get a sub for Abysia, If no one objects i'll look at AI'ing them next turn.

mikh4il May 29th, 2009 06:32 AM

It would have been nice to have a little more advance warning... I didn't have much time yesterday but since it appeared that we were still on slow hosting I thought I could wait until today to get my turn in and now I find out that I've staled :(

mikh4il June 3rd, 2009 07:03 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

same here, i find that out the morning @ work, it makes me too many stale and cant keep up now :s
i go ai or got to find a sub?

Frozen Lama June 3rd, 2009 11:07 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

I was all for the 24h hosting, but if people can't make it, they need to speak up. I understand the last turn might have been sudden, but does anyone know where Ashdod went to? They were the most powerful nation in the game at one point, and now they've staled 3 times in a row.

I hope you guys keep playing becasue despite the stales, no one is running away with the game.

If 24h is just too fast, ask for an extention, or if it's always too long, we can go to 36 or 48 hour hosting, just make yourself heard please.

hEad June 4th, 2009 04:46 AM

Game is rolled back to last turn.

I have no problem with 24h hosting, but I do have problems with 4h hosting, which is all the notice we got for last turn . If we had been on a regular 24h deadline, I would have gotten my turn in on Tuesday, but since I didn't have much free time and it looked like I could wait, I thought I would just get it in on Wednesday, so that I could take the time to do it right instead of rushing it...

It wasn't a 4 hr hosting - i forgot to switch the timer back after giving the extension till tuesday. It was actually at 26 hrs when I hit the process turn button....

Anyways you lot, there is no need to winge about being hard done by. I am quite prepared to roll back turns if required.

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

well since Ashdod is clearly dissapeared, lets set them AI eh? no reason to give you guys free provs.

and may as well force host whenever its just Ashdod left.

I need to get someone to else to set them AI. When i set Abysia AI, i was penalised by the game. It recieved 2 player turns from the same email and stiffed me with a stale.

The only problem with this AI business is that its me getting it from the comp. Aby who was my ally before is now chewing me up - setting Ashdod AI will mean the same. So while you fish types sit in the water laughing, I'm getting trashed by hoards of Aby troops.

I'll look into setting it AI... bah ;)

Frozen Lama June 8th, 2009 05:52 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

I'd simpathize with you, except no decent player can "get it" from a comp. I suspect annoyance is a better word, and you more than make up for it in free provs.

besides, me fish types get a whole 8 water provs!!! w00t!

Frozen Lama June 10th, 2009 08:17 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

To all Players:

hEad has asked me to take over as host, and would like to set himself AI, due to lack of intrest. I feel that with that many nations AI, there is too much to salvage this game. I have no intrest to killing AI's for the next 30+ turns. so i feel we must end this game prematurly, without a winner. I will wait 24 hours so people can comment, but in 24 hours, i plan on ending the game.

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

Perhaps we should call it a game....although I really wanted to kill you with my hordes of ice drakes!

Frozen Lama June 11th, 2009 10:19 PM

Re: Noobiewars. Game for noobs [started]

thanks for speaking up. i had some good counters for ice drakes ready but i had no point when i could just retreat and own AI's instead. ok i'll end it
