Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

well 8 hours certainly is not alot of time when you consider we are in different places on the planet. there is more to the world than the continental usa... i check this forum CONSTANTLY when i can so i really do not feel at fault.

i am generally against rollbacks but will do it this time.

I am going to up the turn time to 48 hours but i would really appreciate if the turns are done as fast as possible

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Oh no, I'm confused now! Do nations other than Tir need to resubmit their original orders for last turn?

DakaSha June 22nd, 2009 11:38 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

according to llamaserver no.

vfb June 22nd, 2009 11:39 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

But the llamaserver says:

Atlantis Waiting for 2h file
Fomoria Waiting for 2h file
Niefelheim 2h file received
Tir na n'Og Waiting for 2h file
Yomi Waiting for 2h file

DakaSha June 22nd, 2009 11:45 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

it also says:

'Note that once the game is rolled back, it will appear that the game is waiting for 2h files from all players. However, the 2h files from last time the turn was played will in fact be there, and will be used if the game hosts without them being overwritten. This can be useful; often, a game is rehosted in order for only one or two players to retake their turns, while everyone else is expected to make no changes. The game admin can therefore wait till just those players have submitted, and then force hosting. None of the other players will stale (assuming they actually submitted a 2h file last time the turn was played).'

;)

I did my turn anyways. Didnt change anything though as i didnt even look at my new turn. im just going to get super pissed about the events anyways :P

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Oh, thanks! I did not see that.

I will put my faith in the llamaserver and hope it uses my existing turn. :)

Thanks also for increasing the timer.

Frozen Lama June 23rd, 2009 12:31 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

DakaSha: I apologize, I did not mean to imply that you were at fault in any way, just that I felt 8 hours is acceptable.

normally I can make 24h, just last night I got really busy. sorry

i'll get my turn in right now
i apreciate the rollback

Edit: ok go ahead and force host it.

Amonchakad June 23rd, 2009 11:47 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

So...do we have to resubmit our turn 24 or just wait for the game to be hosted?

Trumanator June 23rd, 2009 02:41 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

wait for it to host

DakaSha June 23rd, 2009 03:10 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

ill force autohosting now. could have done that yesterday i guess, sorry

Jazzepi June 23rd, 2009 03:56 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Sigh.

I knew I should have complained about the autohost. I received a hero appearance on the old turn host. Now he's gone.

Oh well.

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Fomoria flees before the hordes of Tir! We must seek refuge beneath the waves, where the thunderbolts of Tir cannot reach us. Atlantis, prepare for war, for Fomoria desires your watery abode.

yeah.. i recieved a bad event this turn (although its not that bad.. maybe i had a worse one in the original turn heh)

anyways that was the last rollback no matter what happens now ;)

vfb June 24th, 2009 01:09 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

I lost a 200 gold event, but that's nothing compared to losing a hero, especially with Misfortune 2. My condolences to Atlantis, sworn enemy of Fomoria! :)

DakaSha June 24th, 2009 02:57 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

heh... of course now after saying dont take advantage i have to do my turn a bit later. will be done after work though !

Frozen Lama June 24th, 2009 10:10 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

btw, that was a tasty FK.

too bad for him that formoria doesn't have an A9 bless lol.

Jazzepi June 25th, 2009 01:59 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Posted looking for someone to take over my position. I simply don't have the time between school and my responsibilities elsewhere.

I'd like an indefinite extension until I find someone.

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

ok ill stop the game. thanks for letting us know. if you can find somebody with as much experience as you that would be a bonus

Jazzepi June 28th, 2009 09:39 PM

I can't seem to find anyone.

I'm going to try to continue this game. I'll submit a turn tomorrow.

Uhm..... turns? is Yomi missing, or just hasn't sent a turn in?

Jazzepi July 1st, 2009 12:56 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

I'm back. Will be able to submit regular turns now.

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Ehm...apologies for not having yet my turn sent in. I was sure that I had it done and sent, but it looks like i was wrong. It will be sent in some 10-15 minutes.

Amonchakad July 2nd, 2009 03:53 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

I fear I have more bad news...read this: looks like this game is cursed...I'm sorry guys, but it wasn't within my control:(

Frozen Lama July 3rd, 2009 04:15 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Well this will be a short game for me. There's no way i can fight 3 nations at once. I'll probably stick it out till the end, but this game is toast for me.

llamabeast July 3rd, 2009 07:09 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

I'm subbing for Yomi while Amonchakad is away (just taken my second turn).

You're all doomed. Tir in particular.

llamabeast July 3rd, 2009 07:11 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

I'm intrigued to know who's the third nation Lama's fighting. Yomi, Fomoria and ...

Incidentally I'm glad to hear you say you're toast, as I was just thinking I was toast!

DakaSha July 3rd, 2009 07:23 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Niefelheim (thanks for taking up the position btw :) )

Frozen Lama July 3rd, 2009 08:01 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Yeah, i thought i had you llamabeast, with formoria backing off, then 200 giants showed up.... oh well

vfb July 3rd, 2009 09:03 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

As Fomoria saw it, Yomi was looking doomed because of the early invasion by Tir. Fomoria did not want to see Tir gain Yomi's lands, so we rushed to Yomi's aid, only to get promptly slaughtered at great loss of gems. When Atlantis declared war on Yomi, things were looking ever more dire. Unable to fight Tir effectively, Fomoria decided that we'd assist by attacking Atlantis instead. So we fled from the Tuatha to the island of Atlantis. We are pleased out giant brethren have seen the peril posed by the nation of Tir.

It's only 3 on 1 if Atlantis stales again. Fomoria only gained one province from the sea creatures this month, for we learned a lesson of caution from the Tuatha. Has anyone heard from Jazzepi recently?

The funny thing is, Yomi declared war on me....... lol.

DakaSha July 4th, 2009 06:00 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

well i postponed hosting...

llamabeast July 5th, 2009 09:38 AM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Why the postponement? Are we waiting for Jazzepi?

At this rate my subbing will come to an end before I've had a chance to crush anyone. :p

DakaSha July 5th, 2009 07:56 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

yeah waiting for jazzepi... hmpf

Frozen Lama July 6th, 2009 08:32 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

should we perhaps look for a sub for Jazzepi again?

DakaSha July 6th, 2009 08:43 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

perhaps we should *sigh* (and this after me *****ing that the large game wasnt working out smoothly lol)

:P

Frozen Lama July 6th, 2009 08:46 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

well no hurry, we've waited this long, we can keep waiting. lol

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Did anyone PM Jazzepi? I'll send him one now. He's been online today, and yesterday, so maybe he just forgot to mail it in.

Frozen Lama July 6th, 2009 09:07 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

oh.. i'd assumed we had. good idea

DakaSha July 6th, 2009 09:09 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

i asked him if he is planning on sending it in a couple days ago and he ignored my pm (or perhaps didnt read it.... erm)

Frozen Lama July 6th, 2009 09:21 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

so in that case- yes we need a sub?

DakaSha July 6th, 2009 09:24 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

thats my interpretation of the events preceding... erm i suck at trying to sound intelligent

Jazzepi July 7th, 2009 01:36 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Back from a weekend trip. I thought I would have better internet access, but it was sporadic at best, and I couldn't download maps/mods/updates I needed to play off of my laptop.

No more stales for Atlantis.

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Sorry to say it guys, but i will be on vacation from the 16th to the 25th of this month. this game has been delayed so much already, so i don't want to make it stop again, so i will try and find a sub. Failing that, i have a friend who can probably take over as a last resort, but he isn't a forum member, so i will still be out of contact.

Frozen Lama July 11th, 2009 01:34 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

Valerius will be subbing for me while i am away. I'm sending you his Email DakaSha, feel free to change it over on the 16th. i'll remind you when it gets closer

vfb July 11th, 2009 06:28 PM

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

That's weird. It looks like the game hosted, and I got the new turn, but the status page is pretending it didn't host:

Quote:

Game: ShaBay2
Turn number 30
Next turn due: 16:25 GMT on Saturday July 11th

Hosting set to 48 hours but please do not abuse this and finish your turns when you have the time. Thank you :)

Atlantis Waiting for 2h file
Fomoria 2h file received
Niefelheim 2h file received
Tir na n'Og 2h file received
Yomi 2h file received

Re: EA Sha Bay II - Running

But it has fixed itself now ... strange. Unfortunately, Atlantis staled again.
