Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
KietSensei - see my post a few posts up.
Vanishag - I also don't know what you mean. I renamed the tga file, and altered the copy of the .map file on the server to point to the renamed file. Your .map files are irrelevant, and are not even used - only the host needs the .map file (which allows for secret setups). All of this should have nothing at all to do with land starts. Did you start on land? |
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
I'm ok, but other players' capitals are shown on the map (with a crown), and there is a crown on province 88, a land province... but maybe I'm wrong.:dk:
|
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
No, the crowns have nothing to do with capitals. just make sure you rename the .map file without spaces, and we should be all good.
|
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
Frozen Lama of R'lyeh, the capricorns send greetings and request an exchange of envoys. Shall we be neighbors? Or will you force us to cleanse the water of your kind?
|
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
Ryleh has no need for envoys. we can speak to your people while they sleep. kill them while they sleep too.. for now though, your people shall sleep peacefully
|
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
Argh. I wasn't able to submit my turn this morning because I had to conduct some diplomacy with Rlyeh - now Yahoo mail is refusing to upload attachments. Could the turn be delayed with the knowledge that it'll resolve as soon as yahoo lets me upload my turn file? (Presuming the other missing turn also gets submitted soon).
Edit: I'm not going to explain the stupid I had to do to get it submitted. Lets just stipulate it was stupid and move on. |
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
lol, its all good.
|
Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
Now you understand why it is dangerous to talk to Ryleh. They can wash your people's mind and make sure they cannot take your order :)

Re: Water Total War (Pretender Design)
Hey guys, me and Trumanator will be on vacation from the 16th to the 25th of this month. sorry to have this happen so soon into our game, but we didn't get all that much advance warning. I have a friend who *could play for me, but he is not a forum member. Trumanator is not so lucky.
I'd like some feedback from the other players as to if they are willing to put the game on hold for the 9 days we are gone. if everyone is against it, Trumanator can try to find a sub, and my friend will play MA r'yleh, but someone else will need to take over the admin of this game at least temporarily. |

I'm getting married at the end of July, with a honeymoon to follow in early august. I have a friend I could pass my turns off to during the honeymoon, and I figure that's probably what I end up doing - wasn't going to ask the game to be delayed for that. Assuming I can't find some way to bring the game with me to Wales... (no, my fiancee would kill me). Its 10 days - i figure I'll miss 5 turns since we'll probably be up to ~2 days/turn of hosting time at that point. So consider this a public service announcement rather than a request for a delay. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I don't mind putting the game on hold for these 9 days as I will be myself on vacations from the 13th to 27th of July. Even if I will find a way to play from where I will be, the break will allow me to take care of other things :)

Re: Water Total War (Running)
I don't suppose the names of the participants could be spelled correctly in the first post? (Its Statttis, with 3 t's). Makes writing PMs for diplomacy easier.

Re: Water Total War (Running)
ooops, that last, logical T

Re: Water Total War (Running)
May it please the assembled lords, the capricorns send their greetings and make the following announcements.
To our peers the esteemed Lords of Water World: Keldanor of EA Oceania Dweller in the Deep of Ea Atlantis Vizier Khilbron of EA R'lyeh Frozen Lama of MA R'lyeh and with especial attention to the boorish and rude pretender of MA Atlantis, Erik. Let it be known to the nations of Water World that MA Atlantis has refused to see our envoys for an entire month. As such, we must assume their silence represents an aggressive intent towards us and our people. Let it be known that we will therefore consider ourselves at war with MA Atlantis until such time as they speak with us and an understanding is reached. Let it be known that we will also be displeased with any nation which actively offers aid to our presumed enemy, and the measure of our response to such provocation shall be based on the extent of our displeasure. The capricorns rule an honorable nation, and nations we feel have offended us will be given notice and allowed to correct their ways, either in public or in private as it suits our purposes. Failure to acknowledge our envoys will be treated as a hostile response and will not be tolerated. Let it be known that the barbaric nation of MA Atlantis has until the current month ends to respond to our envoys or we will have no choice but to give free reign to our generals. We consider this a fair and just warning of the consequences their current actions merit. Thus speaks the wisdom of the Capricorns. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
The capricorns of Oceania are pleased to announce that Erik of MA Atlantis has redeemed himself in our eyes, and there shall be no need for bloodshed between our peoples.
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I did not receive turn 11 and requested a resend... for some Oceania...
It would be nice if one could tell which was which *somehow*. I guessed. Sorry if you got the turn resent EA Oceania (if i don't see it i'll probably try the other one and see what that does). |
Re: Water Total War (Running)

1 2 3 4 5 6 etc. With the order relating to how they are listed on the status page. So for this game the nations playing are listed as, 1.Atlantis 2.Oceania 3.R'lyeh 4.Atlantis 5.Oceania 6.R'lyeh meaning a turn resend for MA Oceania appears in position 5 on the resend screen (assuming of course the nations are ordered in a EA-MA-LA order, which they usually are on the llamaserver for All-Era games). I think the llamaserver just had a hiccup yesterday and forgot to send out a load of turn files (I was missing two). |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
thanks Calahan. He is correct, it goes EA-MA-LA
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I don't know what happened but for some reason I stalled during turn 10...
It isn't that bad I just hope it doesn't give a decisive advantage to some tentacles-alien ;) |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Hmm... the game didn't send my turn again. But I'm getting turns for other games i'm in just fine. Do i contact Llamabeast about this?
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)

Think a few people are not automatically getting turn files for their llamaserver games right now. I know I'm having to request resends for most of my games. I'm guessing it's just that 'time of the month' for the llamaserver. Which is easily forgiven due to the llamaservers otherwise all-round awesomeness. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I am going on vacation from the 13th to 28th of July. It won't prevent me from playing (I hope...) However as I will be travelling on Monday I would like to ask to delay the end of next turn (turn 14) to Tuesday 11pm GMT
Many thanks and sorry about the bothering. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
turn delayed 12h for me and trumanator.
kietsensei- will do |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
As i said before, Me and Trumanator leave for vacation tomorrow. before i leave in the morning, i will be delaying the game until i get back
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Enjoy your vacation!
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Ok, me and trumanator are back.
hopefully he will get his turn in within the next 24h or so. after that the game can go on. i will make sure to give plenty of time for players to get their next turns in. thanks again for the delay |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I won't be back until late tomorrow. I'm on US central time, and I can't guarantee i'll be able to take my turn before sometime on the 28th, so if I could be guaranteed at least that long, i'd appreciate that.
the Vanishag, I've seen your PM and I will get back to you, promise. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
ok the next turn will not host until late the 28th
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
just one question, now that we have reached turn 20, will we set quickhost to 48h or stay to 24h?
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
i'll go with whatever the majority of people want. personally, i like 24h. of course, i'm only going to be hanging around for about 3 more turns. lol
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I'd appreciate 48h host. It will make my substitutes job easier because he'll (potentially) have to take fewer turns.
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
well i'm done for. congratulations to the Oceanias. one funny note: for the ten turns or so when my forts were being beseiged, i got like 6 1500 gold events and a 3k gold event. hence all the PD in my provs.
i will ask trumanator to take over admin duties |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Hello all! Just a quick announcement.
I'm just about to update the UWGEM mod you are using at the moment. So if any of you have any opinions (too poweful, too weak?) concerning the changes by the mod, you should post in the mod thread so that I can fix them. See the link in my sig. As a recap, here are the changes that affect your game: - Amulet of the Fish only 5 water gems (no air, like in vanilla) - Underwater equipment (turtle armor, amber armor, shell armor, etc..) made cheaper in resources. - Kelp Fortress now an uncommon site. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
There is an unearthly glow in the deeps, as lava vents are struck open, and strange skyfallen ores are thrust into the boiling heat to quicken. The productivity of the seasmiths, guided by the Kings of the Deep, grows beyond our own needs.
EA Atlantis is proud to offer dwarven hammers for sale: 400 gold each, or trade for Robes of Shadows. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Ok, I asked by PM but i seriously need a delay on the current turn until i can get briefed on what the hell is going on. I don't even know if I'm at war with anyone at present. Give me 12 hours but i'll try to submit the turn as soon as I have a clue?
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
The capricorns have returned from their seclusion, and thank the regent for his efforts on our behalf.
We find ourselves in a stranger position than we left. We apologize for the Wild Hunt, although it entertains us given the geography of the world, and the frozen oceans only heighten our entertainment. Unfortunately, we are not currently capable of removing the enchantment, so despite our remorse at having so troubled some of our dearest allies, the enchantment will remain for the present. (I have no idea how many gems are invested in it, but I imagine its minimal, if anyone is sufficiently motivated to want it dispelled). |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
sorry about missing the delay. you sent the pm just after i went to bed unfortunatly. i assume you got it in just fine?
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Haha the wild hunt... One of my mermaid mage has been slain by the Hunt while he was walking in a forest trying to find mushroom for a potion. Now if you could just send me the head of your wizard who casted this enchantment, I would appreciate that ;)

Going out of town for the weekend
Hi, folks. I'm going out of town this weekend and will not have Internet access Saturday or Sunday. I should be able to get in any turns that are ready on Friday (Aug. 21st), but if it's not in by 22:00 GMT, it's not coming. After that, if the next turn could be pushed back to Monday (the 24th) at about the same time (22:00 GMT) I should be fine.
Thanks and sorry. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Understood.
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
What?? you are leaving your troop alone while they are besieging the last city of the Atlantean? :D
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Are you guys gonna kill me or just let me suffer? My poor troops are starved and diseased
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I don't even know where you are anymore.
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Arrgh, I completely forgot to postpone the turn, many apologies to The Vanishag.
In other news, EA R'lyeh is basically finished. I will fight to the end, but I no longer expect to be able to fight off my attackers. This game has surprised me with its systematic pattern of ganking. First MA R'lyeh, then MA Atlantis, now EA R'lyeh. At this point, I am fully expecting a victory for MA Oceania, as they have managed to suffer as little as possible in all their wars, while leveraging D magic to the hilt. It would probably be best if someone would step forward now to suceed me as admin when I go down. |
Re: Water Total War (Running)
The game is starting to require a lot of micromanagement so if everyone is ok I would like to change the quickhost to 48h. I am starting to have trouble doing my turn every day :(
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
Works for me! I will set the schedule and delay the current turn. Once again though, any early volunteers for admin duty will help make for a smooth transition.
|
Re: Water Total War (Running)
I'd like to note that the map having both Kings of Elemental Earth as (presumably) set Independents is *really annoying*.
