Hey Ghoul

You don't need to remake your pretender - if you have the old one just resend it into the new game.

However, do make sure you are using version1.02 of the mod.
I created a Niefle pretender no problem as a test.

Also ghoul, you might want to turn on private messages so people can respond offline.

Uh oh. I tried playing my turn and the game conked out on me. I have BalanceGame1.02.dm so what am I missing?

Problem fixed. Here's what I had to do:

1. close the game
2. move the mods into another folder
3. make sure the "mods" folder only has BalanceGame1.02.dm and SingleAgeComplete.dm
4. start the program and play the game as normal

Hopefully, anyone playing other games can gradually reinstall the needed mods with no problem. I'm curious though, won't we be needing all those .tga files for the mod-added units?

Aaargh! Even doing that, the game keeps crashing with a "bad #startsite" message. I didn't re-make my Pretender with Balance 1.02... is that causing the crash?

Hey guys,

No, no the bad site message is just a sign that you have a wrong version of the module. So far, if you follow the instructions very carefully, its worked every time.
Someone (not me) uploaded a file the llamaserver that is *not* correct. But if you follow do the following, everything should be ok:

1. Unload all balance mods in dominions.
2. Exit Dominions. (Very Important).
3. delete all balance mods in the mod folder (.dm)
4. download the balance game1.02.dm file from the first thread in this post. After you extract it into the mod folder it should have the size 212,497 bytes.
5. Start dominions, start the game.

yes, you will need to copy them back. Just copy only the .tgas and you should be fine.

LOL.. Hey Ossa.. no problem.
I've gone through this 4 times, each time it has worked, just fine.

Here's the crucial steps.

1. You have to unload the mods from Dominions.
2. You have to EXIT dominions.
2b. Delete any BalanceGame Mod. (Just the DM file)
3. Download the BalanceGame1.02.rar from the first thread in this post. Nowhere else, and not from llama.
4. Extract the Balancegame1.02.dm into the mods folder. After you extract it into the mod folder it should have the size 212,497 bytes.
5. Start the game.

Should work.

Did you unload the modules.
Did you delete them?
Did you exit Dominions?
Did you download from this thread and confirm the file size? (Someone uploaded a bad file to the llama server; I don't have the ability to remove it).

Guys, I don't know what to do at this point.

I agreed to do one turn for Ossa..... but I don't want people to think I have an unfair advantage.

I've asked other people to run a turn..to no luck. its about 2 hours to process - and its always possible he could get a turn in.

Everyones turns work - but I haven't heard from Ossa. I'd love him to keep playing.

I really don't want to slow down, I'd prefer if we don't hear from him to set him to AI. Thoughts?

Sorry to hold up the game further, but... I'm going out of town this weekend and will not have Internet access Saturday or Sunday. I should be able to get in any turns that are ready on Friday (Aug. 21st), but if it's not in by 22:00 GMT, it's not coming. After that, if the next turn could be pushed back to Monday (the 24th) at about the same time (22:00 GMT) I should be fine.

I might be able to do a blitz next weekend, if we start planning now.

On the subject of Yomi. It seems to me that we have another overpowered Race.

I ran a solo game with them and found they are more overpowered than any of the older races.

1. Darkness. Its still broke, and they don't even need to cast it. (Innate power)

2. There's a hero that comes out of the box with shadow-blast as a power.(No gem cost either)

In other words this race should be heavily nerfed...

I did heavily nerf it (compared to previous version).

I voiced my concerns to Alpine about this earlier that I thought it was (still) too strong - and it was his contention that the troops are chaff.

My inclination is to leave the current game as is and post nerf after. But I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts.
