Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Very unlucky in my starting positions lately!:(
Right next door to Lanka who has a W9S9N9 bless on his sacred demons! A Lanka who intends to eat the ignorant savages of Ulm for breakfast. Cheap forging for the rest of the game, should any other neighbour of Lanka care to help me out! |

Edit: Sigh, no strikethrough command? |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Any tipss on where all of thiss iss happening? For ssome reasson C'tis never learned to build sscoutss.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Lanka has no other neighbors, you'll just have to wait your turn ;)

Its likely poor Ulm is doomed vs those demonic monkeys but by attacking me early Lanka has blunted his early expansion, which should cost Lanka later on. Also his scales must be terrible, which will slowly destroy him over the many years of the dominion war. Probably expand or a slow death for Lanka! All other nations in the area should start organising an alliance to destroy him or face being next on the demonic monkey menu! |

Oh yeah, Ulm is just bitter because i rejected his offer for peace. So sorry. Lanka is more than willing to consider diplomatic relationships with nations whose capitol locations don't immediately stunt our growth. Ie, just about anyone else. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
If you promisse to never build anything but bassic monkeyss then we promisse to not be afraid of you. :)~~
C'tis for one will not let Ulm'ss brave sstruggle be for nothing. We hereby declare war upon the Lankan menace. Expect our forcess to arrive sshortly. Alsso, Pataja, could you turn on your private messssagess? I'd like to be able to communicate with you through the forumss rather than waiting a month for a messssage to arrive. |

The demonic monkeys are now camped outside of Ulm's great walls, feasting upon the brave hundred who tried to prevent the siege. In three to four months the walls will fall and Ulm will cease to be. Probably only to remembered for being the first to bring word of the demonic monkey menace... |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Ah C'tis, quite foolish of you. Well, Lanka is hungry, and I can make monkeys faster than you can kill them this early in the game. So by all means, feed my armies for me. Ulmish peasants are tasty, lets see how lizards taste.
(Seriously C'tis, last chance for peace. Or you can follow Ulm into oblivion. I will not offer again). |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
AdmiralZhao: I turned PM on (didn't know they were off by default).
Also, sorry for that affliction on your pretender (didn't know you wanted to attack that province). |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Lanka is looking to trade for a hammer or possibly two. We have d,n and a little bit of e gems we could trade.
Lanka is also pleased to announce that Ulm has been crushed, and the last vestiges of Ulm will soon be occupied by their new benevolent lord. The Ulmish peasantry rejoiced greatly as their oppressors were thrown down, and a Priest was even seen rallying an army of converts to our cause in a former Ulmish province following the siege. This is a sign of the justness of our conquest, and a warning to the foolish reptiles of C'tis who would interfere in a war that was none of their affairs. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
We see Mictlan desires to make a meal for the armies of Lanka as well. My demons are not picky, but the rajas are asking to reduce their food intake because they might get fat on all the meat they've been getting.
We might point out to the other nations of the world that a great hue and cry went up about our demons, but Mictlan is at least as bad, if not worse (the jaguar warriors we see in abundance are a far better unit), and they actually do have a dominating position in the game, including the 2nd largest nation at present. Further, their position tells us they likely have multiple neighbors. Given their commitment to warring against us, we'd point out to their rivals that now is a perfect time to strike against the Mictlan threat and eliminate them. If afterwards you feel obliged to feed Lanka's demons by warring on us - well, you'll have to go through them anyway. And if Lanka should fall, we'd rather fall to something more than crazy people in cat leather. As a post-script, the nation of Lanka apologizes to the peasants trapped in the last hold out of Ulmish oppression. Current political realities make liberating you infeasible at this time. (Sorry Meglo, i hate to leave you in the game with one province and no hope of doing anything, but Mictlan wouldn't leave me a turn to finish you off properly). |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Lanka squeals in terror as it reaps the whirlwind that its mad aggression has called down upon it. Our priests have predicted that the time has come to put this beast down. Mictlan does not begrudge any who wish to aid us in destroying Lanka.
We, too, point out to Lanka's neighbors that now is a perfect time to strike against Lanka and eliminate them. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Yes, if you want to throw the game, aid Mictlan. Because rest assured, that's what such actions would amount to. (Not that we have real neighbors to take advantage of your 'offer').
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Apparently everyone is ok with Mictlan not only being a leader in number of provinces, but also adding 2 additional capitols to his empire. Because rest assured, Mictlan has enough muscle to conquer us given time - which is exactly what you're giving him by not attacking him.
Any neighbors of Mictlan who don't want to have to conceed the game to him in ~10-20 turns might want to communicate with us about helping defeat the Mictlan menace. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I think the proper tactic for everyone else in the game is quietly sitting on the sofa with some popcorn, watching Lanka and Mictlan slug it out, and then promptly dog-piling the winner. =)
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I don't know why Lanka iss panicking now; they sshould have sstarted panicking when the invinsssible armiess of C'tis firsst marched againsst them. In any casse, Lanka'ss doom iss approaching. After a sshort layover at Yomi'ss capital, our legionss are once more on their way to Monkey City. Make your peace demon-ape'ss, for in 1-4 yearss we sshall arrive!
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Wah, wah, wah. Mictlan is tied for 2nd in terms of provinces, while C'tis kills Yomi pretty much unopposed and Sauromatia apparently just racks up provinces. So I wouldn't say my win is exactly assured in 10-20 turns... or maybe it is, in which case everyone should just concede now =)
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
As an aside, I am starting another random nation game, this time late age, using the CB 1.6 mod. If you'd be interested in signing up for that as well, PM me or post in that game's thread.

Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
It lookss like the long war in the North, alsso known as the War againsst Ssauromatian Terror, alsso known as the Coward'ss War, iss finally over. After a year of maneuver, PD killing, and the rare outright battle, the endlessss undead of C'tis finally overwhelmed the cannibalss of Ssauromatia. No more sshall their ssacred calvary cassually sslaughter drovess of C'tissian heavy infantry. No more sshall their poissoned arrowss chew up our archer auxiliariess. The Ssauromatian leadersship hass fled into the sswampss around their capital, and ssunk deep into the mire of hisstory. Good game, sslobby. You fought well againsst very difficult oddss. There were a lot of monthss where it wass touch and go, and you came closse very closse to massssacring my main army. I alsso have to ssay that you were at a major dissadvantage sstarting the game out, given how low the population wass in mosst of your home provincess.
Now that Ssauromatia iss done for, it lookss like there are 4 contenderss left. Any sstoriess from elssewhere in the world? C'tis for one iss looking forward to developing itss peaceful corner of the world, and only hearing taless about battless in faraway landss. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Yeah that start location wasn't the best, not because of the low pop but because of the low resources. I was nothing but a paper tiger...:D
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Lanka would like to request Mictlan get its act together and put us out of our misery, we do not understand why we're still alive.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Perhapss he is waiting for you to send your gemsss and itemsss to some worthy ressipient?
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I have set the hosting interval to 48 hours.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Well, now this is weird. Last turn I have a castle with a lab and about 20 mages that was besieged by barbarians. This turn my forces broke the seige, but the lab is no longer present. There weren't any special events at the province this turn, and I went back and reviewed the orders I just sent and I did not accidentally tell any of the commanders to burn down the lab. Anyone have a clue what is going on?
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
The indies got the lab burned down event.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Hey fols... sorry for the delay in the game. After all the llamaserver shenannigans, I was swamped at work and haven't been able to put in my turn. Will do so tomorrow, and hopefully we'll be rolling again.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
No problem at all. Really, don't worry if you miss a turn or two, work is more important than a silly computer game.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Well that sucks... I had delayed the game about 4 hours before the deadline on the llamaserver... but apparently it didn't work. Oh well =(
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
JohnArryn, do you think that you will be able to continue the game? Or should we start looking for a sub/AI?
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I will continue... once again, that last stale was unintentional, I have had some bad luck with them lately =(
I certainly don't want to throw the game, so ill continue. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
It looks like the campaign to liberate the Mictlani lands is finally coming to and end. There was hard fighting, and many brave lizard soldiers were either chopped to fiery bits or accidentally turned into small piles of gray dust, but their sacrifices were not in vain. Good game JohnArryn. Thanks for fighting it out to the last.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I do like to stay in until all is hopeless... which in this case was several turns ago. But I'll be in until the bitter end. Excellent game AdmiralZhao, as always I am impressed by your skill!
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
And yet another overwhelming morale victory against the forces of the dastardly Oceania!
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Helheim is my hero. <3 <3 <3
I kept seeing their commanders going higher and higher in the HoF, while not controlling any provinces. I kept wondering what the heck was going on, and whether this was some strange ploy by Oceania. No, it just turns out that Steve and Vanlade are invincible. Or at least mostly so. I saw the latest battle, and I both mourn and admire Vanlade's noble death. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
With Arco effectively gone, there is just one nation left to contest against C'tis. That will not be true for long. We hereby declare war on the fish-men.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I am honestly surprised that I am still in the game somehow.
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
My hat goes off to you for staying in so log tgbob =)
That's impressive. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
2 AdmiralZhao
As I understand our NAP3, orders to attack are on turn 57 and first battles on turn 58. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Dang. I was kind of hoping you would roll over and surrender now that Arco is gone. :)
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
No. I'd like to get some lategame experience before I surrender. :)
|
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
I staled last turn, but even if I hadn't this would not change situation
in general. Oceania can't stop tartarian hordes of C'tiss and have to surrender. |
Re: War is Hell 3 - Running
Dang, so it wasn't my tactical genius which half-won me that battle? Well, GG. I was scared for a while there that you had enough clams and wishes to make a go of it.
I believe this brings War is Hell 3 to a close. GG all. |
