Re: LA Glory (Upload Pretenders)

Oh wow. Let's hope I don't pick up the Ancient Presence in a couple turns. :)

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I'm so glad i took Lk3 to get nothing but bad events. Oh yay. I'm losing to the RNG here...

I feel your pain, o tentacled one.

Kheldron October 29th, 2009 07:11 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I feel like I should have tightly shut my mouth as I got a bad starting position AND now an unrest event on my cap.

Great!

Triumph without peril brings no glory :D

Tolkien October 29th, 2009 11:54 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

llamaserver was especially good to me, giving me one of the awesome heroes with Misf-1. :D

Deathjester October 30th, 2009 04:33 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I've been lucky too, apart from a semi-bad starting position and having a mage killed by a single bowshot from an independent archer.. :(

But I got one of those "market" gold events the turn after, so I'm not complaining.

By the way, I will be going away this weekend. I am hoping we can postpone the game for a day or two?

I have been unlucky mostly due to an elephant rout that decided to run through the middle of my army :( Still monkeys are cheap

Squirrelloid October 30th, 2009 12:52 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Stop whining about minor inconveniences - my capitol is sieged by sufficient force from an indie attack that I can't break out. I'm teetering on the brink of setting AI - the first time I will *ever* have done so. Its ridiculous, especially because i have Lk3.

(I also haven't seen a single good event all game...).

Tolkien October 30th, 2009 03:13 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Ouch, that is bad. Which event? Sea Troll attack?

deathjester: of course! 48 hour delay should be enough for the next turn. Or, if you can get that one in, 24.

viccio November 1st, 2009 06:21 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Erio had requested a suspension until Wednesday

Squirrelloid November 5th, 2009 10:40 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Ok, I'm setting AI. Attacked by Sea Trolls *again*, this time disrupting a fortress right before it finished, and killing some 25 units. (And yes, my full Lk scales had spread to the province in question). This is just ridiculous and unplayable. Totally hosed by the RNG.

Tolkien November 6th, 2009 05:26 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Ouch. Well, I can understand why.

Kheldron November 11th, 2009 02:49 AM

The giants of Utgard are looking for some earth gems.
We can provide water astral death & nature gems as well as blood slaves or items in the aforementioned paths.

Ferrosol November 12th, 2009 08:20 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Damn, Invaded by the combined might of Utgard and Midgard. Still at least Midgard is now missing most of an army. And I am missing my markata hordes shame I liked those little monkeys.

Tolkien November 17th, 2009 05:15 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Bah. I hate ninjas. Always killing my commanders on the most imopportune turns.

Tolkien November 19th, 2009 10:30 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Also: does anyone want to have the hosting time to 36 hours? For the most part, I think it isn't necessary, but just seeing if anyone though otherwise.

Kheldron November 20th, 2009 03:45 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

24h is still fine for me but I don't mind 36h if some are having a hard time to get their orders on time.

Deathjester November 20th, 2009 04:01 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I would not mind a 36 hour interval, I would even welcome it. It would make the puzzle fit easier, so to say.

viccio November 23rd, 2009 03:57 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

there is a problem... i don't recive any advice for turn 27... in the afternoon I asked to resend the turn but the server has sent it to me at 2:00 AM... obviously at that time I was in bed

Kheldron November 27th, 2009 02:59 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

There are often turns postponed, I suppose for very good reasons and that OP is sent PM, but it would be nice to post here to announce it to others.
I say that because, between job and family, I usually have to plan in advance when I will do my turn and it kind of wreck my planning...

Raiel December 4th, 2009 08:56 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Hey all...

I expected to do my turn tonight, but my wife called dibs on the afternoon... now I'm too inebriated to do my turn. I would like to request a 24 hours extesion. My apologies to all for the delay.

Kheldron December 5th, 2009 07:46 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

No problem for a delay here, thanks for letting us now in advance :)

I don't want to sound the complainer (erf...again), but I'm sad to see some going AI without letting the rest of us know. True, I half expected it of Mictlan after obliterating his main army but...
Squirelloid/Rlyeh at least told us way in advance. Dunno about Bogarus.

In fact, I can only commend people to read this thread :
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=43620

This game is (not only) about winning, it's about "playing" :p

Hi, everyone. After 5/12 years of teeth-grinding work, I have now (as of Mon.) completed the last bureaucratic task in my way and I am now a Pn.D. Unfortunately, I then proceeded immediatey to get I-can't-get-oft-of-bed sick.

After this turn (the one just delayed) processes, could we hold the game until Saturday? I'd really appreciate it.

Tof (the Vanishag)

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I need a 48 hour delay on the current deadline. (Until GMT 00:10 Monday that is)

I will not be able to submit a turn until sunday, unfortunately.

Deathjester December 10th, 2009 09:18 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I managed to get my turn in, I only might need a small extension to the next deadline..

Kheldron December 10th, 2009 05:43 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

So, we should have a postpone until saturday for this turn then a postpone until monday for the turn after, right?

Yes, that is correct. I got this turn in, so unless someone else needs a delay, this turn could be processed as planned, ie late saturday. That would mean next turn would not process until sunday/monday anyway, which is fine by me. I will be back by then.

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Just poping my head up to let everyone know that, despite stales this week, I am still in the game and not going anywhere. I shouldn't miss any more turns (false gods know I can't afford to).

Kheldron December 14th, 2009 09:22 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Quite happy to hear that. I was beginning to worry about those repeated stales. Welcome back! :)

Kheldron December 16th, 2009 12:01 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I must say I'm really really happy to see that noone staled last turn as I was beginning to worry.

In fact I'm so glad I don't even mind the awful global that has been cast by the one who, I'm afraid, also has the Chalice and scepter of dark regency ;)

Alpine Joe December 16th, 2009 02:18 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Sadly for the Tartarian hopefuls of C'tis you are wrong about both of those things.....

Kheldron December 16th, 2009 05:25 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

you mean we should be wary of both Ctis and Jomon instead of just you?

Don't worry : I am ;)

Deathjester December 17th, 2009 03:24 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Can delays please be announced when they occur? I do not mind the delays as such, I would just like to be notified. It would be a lot easier to plan gettings turns in.

Also, it would be nice to know if I have another 24 hours to think..

Raiel December 18th, 2009 03:42 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I'd like to request a 12-hour extension, please. For that matter, if there aren't any objections, I'd like to see the schedule move to 48 hours sometime soon.

Kheldron December 19th, 2009 02:34 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Glad to see Raiel getting his turn on time without the delay he asked for.
Tolkien, you seem to have a hard time to avoid staling and answering those demands.
If you wish I can volunteer to second you. I'm online most of the time so I could answer faster when needed. Just PM the master password if you agree.

the Vanishag December 19th, 2009 11:00 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Did anyone else get a "wrong turn #" error? I just staled even though I know I sent in orders for the correct turn.:pc:

It may be because I'm playing on 2 PCs and hadn't synced my files before downloading the new turn... but it shouldn't matter, as I was able to play the turn locally without difficulty...

Deathjester December 20th, 2009 11:23 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Will there be some kind of "christmas break"? I have some problems with access and even more problems with time, especially 24th-27th. Postponing after next turn until the 27th and then setting a long post schedule? (in case people can't get their turns in, but if they do, we can still have quick host on)

Kheldron December 23rd, 2009 01:02 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

the 24th-27th break would be welcome. I'll take the game on my usb key but I'm not sure of when I'll have an easy access to make my turns. A long post schedule with quickhost would be good indeed.

Deathjester December 23rd, 2009 09:50 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Tolkien, are you there?

Three stales in a row now - where is our administrator?

Tolkien December 24th, 2009 12:39 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Sorry, I was having issues. <_<

Also, sure, a 72-hour delay for the holidays is fine. The only thing major that happened during the turns anyway is that I missed out on some big-ticket artifacts. It's a rather peaceful time for me.

going AI

Tolkien December 31st, 2009 02:03 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I'm also going to issue a 24 hour delay for New Years.

Tolkien January 4th, 2010 09:22 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

48 hour delay requested.

Kheldron January 5th, 2010 04:43 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

I guess you forgot to put quickhost back on. All turns in and no hosting. ;)

Tolkien January 6th, 2010 06:32 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Oi, you're right. Turned it off for the holidays and forgot about it. :p

I'm such a forgetful person.

Tolkien January 16th, 2010 01:51 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Issued a 12 hour delay.

I'm also going to extend the hosting time from 36 hours to 48 hours, starting turn 60. If anyone thinks it ought to be longer then that, speak now.

Raiel January 17th, 2010 01:44 AM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

The Artificers of Jomon do hereby proclaim to the world the availability of trade for non-unique items!

1 Ring of Wizardry and 1 Robe of Magi are both available for immediate trade. Send a PM with your best offer or drop by IRC channel #dominions.

Alpine Joe January 19th, 2010 03:06 PM

Re: LA Glory (And Begin!)

Well, the artifact wielding armies of Utgard and their atlantian allies will soon overwhelm the proud nation of C'tis. Let the rest of the world beware of their unholy alliance.

Unholy is a church point of view I'm afraid.
Most of my troops are most holy in my humble opinion ;)
